We all have a geek in us – and I am embracing it.. so for those who can’t be bothered to read a rant, please move on to the next post.
I’m just a little down at the moment, and it’s cause I feel, what I’m doing at the company is sometimes a waste of time. I’ve been preparing the McCann blog of late which took an ample load of my time, because I’m such a perfectionist and wanted it to look good and hopefully useful to people. What makes me a little hurt sometimes, is that all I can be seen for is this little technological freak of nature, and I have a passion for it. Yeah I’m a geek and I admit. Why do I bother? Because I find this new digital age is a whole new medium, for communicating. I just like sharing the stuff that is new to people, cause I think it can help them with whatever it is they do. I’m just tired, that because people don’t understand the whole techy talk that I sometimes do like when i mention RSS, feeds, CSS, Blog, Web 2.0 or whatever,  so they don’t take me seriously. Or they can’t take me seriously because they don’t get it and  they just can’t be bothered to in the end. Also cause it can be just boring for them. So yeah I’m just tired. Technology was man made to help us for a reason and if people don’t want to have that vision of making their life easier…then ok..too bad!
I’m done with my rant.
I’m not usually one to follow these things, but I am glad however to hear that the winner is Miss Japan Riyo Mori, who is absolutely gorgeous. The 20 year old girl actually manage to beat through all the other contestants. And what is nice to also hear is that instead of the usual winners such as westerners and the beautiful ladies of India, an asian manage to top it. So woot woot!

In all her winning glory, lil butterfly Japanese Riyo Mori.

The New Miss Universe waves to the crowd

I absolutely love this shot! Down boys, we know she’s hot! Another fab shot.

“Ugh…Get your grubby hands of my crown!” “Oh noooo….. the crown.. not the crown! Nooooooo” Not exactly the most glamorous image, but it’s great for a laugh

With all due respect, I hope that some maybe open to yet another critique regarding Streamyx. I’m feeling the need to vent out a little, because I honest to goodness, find Streamyx to be the lousiest service ever possible to anything that is even remotely related to internet. Firstly as it was once the dominating service for broadband, there was no other choice but to use this service as the only means of gaining unlimited internet access at all times for a reasonable price of RM88 = 1MBps. Which I’d like to also comment that customers are not even getting a 1MBps service. Instead they are only getting about at least 600kbs. I mean hello! We are paying a fair amount and that is what we are getting? And all this while, when there were no other services to compete with it. It stayed comfortably offering this measly service to us hopeful Malaysians thinking that this is “internet”. Then FINALLY Maxis came out with their 3G Broadband service. So now since Streamyx feels threatened in terms of broadband business. They decided to notch it up and offer – guess what – Oh My Gosh and unbelievable package of 4mbps. The fastest ever in speed. WOW!!! (**Can you sense my overwhelming sarcasm, which is dripping with disdain.**) . However, the speed of service is still on ‘best effort basis’ and quote!

Streamyx joke Seriously! And it’s for a ridiculous price of RM198  month. For all you know we would only be getting the actual 1MBs that we had all subscribe too before. Wiring is poor here, furthermore it cant’ support. Not unless, the government does something and about the wiring for all the housing areas and work buildings. The forums at lowyat and other places are also giving off the same vibes. Check out what they have to say at these links and have a good laugh. I personally like this lil line “I had enuff with 1.0 mbps…..4.0 mbps means 4 times the headache, 4 times the regret and 4 times the loss….”

Yo Ho Ho, The Pirates Life for Me….

Yo Ho, Altogether, Hoist the Colour Song, Heave Ho, Thieves and Beggers Never shall we die….. Ok the post is a day late, but in anycase, I can now talk about it. The problem with watching shows before others is that you really can’t talk about it to anyone as it wil spil it for future viewers…Ai! But ok, for starters. The third installment for Pirates of the Caribbean did not disappoint me. It had a good build up all the way, with good acting as usual (Keira Knightley improved from her previous annoying Elizabeth in POTC 2), Geoffrey Rush was a fantastic Barbossa, Orlando Bloom pulled it off a lot more as heroic buckeneer Will Turner, and of course Johnny Depp was the ever realistic, humorous and swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow. On top of that Gore Verbinski had wonderful cinematography from shooting Sparrow’s nose close up shot, all the way down to the whirl pool fight. Not forgetting of course the wonderful scriptwriters, Ted Elliott & Terry Rossi. And how could I ever forget the man who makes the scenes comes to life even more, Hans Zimmer, my all time favourite movie composer. Somebody hand the man an AMA!! My Review (spoilers up ahead):
The third as I said did not disappoint me. It had a different flavour from the second one. Not as many laughs and gags as he previous, but had tons of sub–plots which honestly got a bit confusing at first. And the storyline… oh my gosh. The amount of deals Jack had. Mr Sparrow had from one back up plan to another back up plan. Everything he did that look like a mistake, seemed to just work out to his advantage… or was it just “perfect business”. Also you just have to be amazed by how Will and Elizabeth got married. On a ship crawling with cuttlefish-men, fighting for their lives and screaming for Barbossa to marry them. LOL. And i shall never forget how Barbossa went “I Captain Barbossa now pronounce you…’ while at the same time swashing his sword from left to right frivolously. Hilarious!

The part of the story, that seems to just stings to me though was how Will and Elizabeth turned out. Will in the end did manage to save his father, but in the process replaced Davy Jones as captain of the Flying Dutchman. Meaning he became the servant that takes the souls the other world. So Will is to remain at sea and only return to land for one day every 10 years. Ai! Yeah they are together but then again they aren’t too. He’s now an immortal and she just waits for him on an island for years. Sheesh. Also I’m glad that at least more asians made it into the film. There is hope! Chow Yun Fatt made a funny pirate thought. Hehehe!

A scene whih I think is a funny stand off was the scene where you hear an electric guitar in the background along with these fine three compadres. Where they will come face to face with Will, Buckett and Davy – who stands in a bucket of water. lol!

But however there was one thing that I wish could have been better. Which was Callypso’s appearance. After all the hype and rumours on her character, I feel that it was a bit too abrupt. It ent from her being Tia Dalma to Giant Titan to exorcist sounding to bunch of crabs. Umm… ok…?? That said Naomi Harris still played her part well.Despite all the make up you can still tell that she is hot, even with the terribly black voodoo teeth.

I’m so glad that a fourth one is coming out. Make it alright please make it good. Well as long as the script remains good and Jack Sparrow the man who makes it all worth while is in it. Yo Ho Ho! Below are some absolutely fantastic shots of the posters.
