It’s not easy to maintain a workout schedule. Hence it’s always good to have some company to encourage you and if you don’t? Well the next best thing is a celebrity to motivate you. I have picked Jessica Biel as my goal body (Ok fine I don’t have the same physique as her, but I can dream). Point is, getting fitter and healthier is great but I need a push. If not from my better half…… =S…..then from an external source. She’s already got a sweet face, but ever since I saw her in Blade Trinity, I have a brand new perspective of this lady. On top of that, she has beaten Jennifer Lopez i the “nicest butt” category.

All that woman had to do was plug in her earphones into her ipod and her biceps were showing…ooooo… the cutting!!!

What kind of training did you do? Jessica Biel: I was in the gym six days a week for a couple of hours a day and then an hour of fight training, an hour of archery and a super-strict diet throughout the whole movie. Was it a lot of heavy weights? Jessica Biel: Yeah, heavy weightlifting for bulk. To bulk up in the beginning, then once I got to a certain size it was a more a maintaining and lots of cardio to kind of lean as much we can down. That’s why I have those striations down my muscles. Work to build, then maintain, then lean it out as much as we could. Was the archery training different because of metal arrows? Jessica Biel: No, we didn’t really start using the metal arrows until we were actually shooting. It didn’t really make much of a difference. All it does is makes the arrow heavier and obviously more dangerous. I mean, it’s a massive metal arrow. It’s just a metal tip really. The actual arrow was metal, I think. Some part of it was metal. But it wasn’t really that different. If I was going to be training for a competition or this movie, the training would still have been the same.”
You can read more of the article here on MovieWeb but if you want the dirt on her workout then and now this is what she did. She had a good mixture of watching her diet, cardio, walking lunges, along with my facourite exercise plyometrics. Totally no need for weights but it gets the job done of ton butt and legs. Read On the full article here. From what I had read, Jessica Biel was on a super strict diet that banned sugar, dairy, flour and salt…..then what was there to eat?? By the way I also have Ryan Reynolds workout, who looked fantastic for his role in Blade. For the guys if you ever come here, go ahead on to Sixpacknow and read this article on Ryan Reynolds Workout.

Ok fine.. i’ll put a lil eyecandy for the girls…

Yeap ladies… that is alll Ryan. Hehehe

Ever since, I embarked on the try to be green journey, I have also looked and considered my diet (mainly cause i’m planning out my meals and what I eat now). Having said that, I thought of going vegetarian. I had actually tried going veg for two weeks a couple of years back… for a completely stupid reason, because Tobey Maguire is one. But i must say in those two weeks, it was quite enriching to be veg for a while. I will also agree that it did make me feel a lot better…. minusing the points when I started to crave for a good juicy steak or burger. On to what I really wanted to post about, is Miss Alicia Silverstone. Who apparently went vegetarian for quite some time and then the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), approached her and she did a commercial which is suppose to help promote their website goveg.com.. And how exactly does she wish to get our attention?

You can also watch the video of the commercial, which I managed to fine off youtube. You gotta love that place.

So while albeit, it’s a rather daring move, but you have to hand it to the girl, for trying. You have to shout really loud at the areas where things need to be heard.

To do some lil promotion for my friends hehe. YKLS is turning 5 this year and they are going to be having a bang up performance. My friends Carrie, Jarryd, Joel and Aaron will be performing, hence I must give all the support hehe. The shall be performing their tenth production called Move It! I’m going on the 30th of September.. so for those who want to join me.. gimme a buzz.
“This year also marks the opening of YKLS’ new home, under the Young Choral Academy (YCA) – an umbrella of the country’s first academy for choral music.

Move It! will feature, among others, ‘One Day More’ from Les Miserables, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ from Carousel, ‘Magnificent Horses’, a Mongolian song from a world song themed concert in 2004 and choral works composed by Malaysian composers such as ‘Yang Indah’ by Saidah Rastam from M! The Opera. The YKLS Chamber Choir will also bring back Debussy’s ‘Yver, vous n’etes qu’un villian’ from its concert in 2005 titled Four Seasons.  This concert will also able to see the choir premiering a new theme song ‘Walk with Me!’ which was composed and arranged by the members of the choir, especially for this concert.” - youngchoral.com

Just to catch up on some posts, last Friday was the first ever I went back late….I know I know… for some of you, you’re going to say.. huh only 11pm? Is that all? For others it’ll be oh my gosh….why!!?? SO either way, doesn’t really matter. Point is I was working late… and for the first time I actually saw the accounts upstairs in my office….in total darkness. Well almost complete darkness, save for one tiny light at the back of the room. Here’s what it looked like. You can make a horror film here.. lol. 21092007663_resize.jpg The well lit stairway to the spooky top. 21092007664_resize.jpg That darn owl, can scare the daylights out of you! 21092007665_resize.jpg Da dumm.. da dumm.. da dum, whoops wrong song.. Interesting, that I have been putting in a lot more post on being green lately. But hey, I think its fun and rather interesting to know the ways that others around the globe are trying to spread the cause or at least reduce their carbon footprint. Anyway, I got this from ecorazzi which led me to other websites from there. Hollywood, people is going green and they are holding a green conference to discuss on environmental issues on how Hollywood can be involved in the spread. Check it out here at Hollywood Goes Green and if you want more articles to read on this you can go to Variety, which has their own archive of Green Hollywood. Or you cna head on to WebbyAward winner WorldChanging.com to take a look at the “How green is Hollywood?” article, which according to a god umber of comments was rather inspiring. What are they going to discuss? Roughly here is what their agenda looks like at the Hollywood Green conference.
Topics include:
  • Why Green is good for the entertainment business
  • Reducing carbon footprints and understanding credit options
  • Financing and pitching environmentally themed films
  • Delivering green messages on cable and television
  • Incorporating green initiatives in advertising campaigns
  • Saving fuel and energy efficient vehicles
  • Evaluating impact of Live Earth concert series and music business
Breakout sessions and workshops offer more in-depth group discussion on several hot topics:
  • Sustainable Green building design and renovation
  • Celebrity activism
  • Green marketing and advertising for film and TV
  • eco-friendly production
  • Adopting paperless practices
  • Workshops by guilds and environmental organizations”
Now having said that how exactly does Hollywood intend to go green? Honestly I’m not too sure, but maybe this gave a bit more light on the matter. Eco-tainment tips for the soul. Hehehe.
