I have just installed the latest WordPress which was 2.3 and I say was because now they have WordPress 2.3.1 out… Just when I was getting used to 2.3 the new one is now out, which you can download over at WordPress.org. Having said that, I must say that the new WordPress 2.3 has got some neat features which the previous ones didn’t have. No i haven’t read through the articles available on the net to see what is new, I just experience them :P
  1. I love the fact that now they have tags on the write page. Originally i had to install a plugin for a tag section which i can pop in words for each post. But the new wordpress comes with that feature.
  2. There is an advance toolbar at the write post. If you notice there is a whole new second bar with stuff like heading format, justification for your posts, the parts that i like is the pasting from word, remove the formatting and cleaning up the messy buttons which is quite handy, especially when there is some html coding that has become all messed up. Its really irritating and I’ve been in that occasion once too many. The advance toolbar looks like so. ** I have a third line which if some are wondering, is how I place all my videos into the post. WordPress still can’t handle. I’m using Viper Video Tags, which is absolutely fabulous and helps me with whatever video i want to share here.
  3. Oh and the sidebar what we have is an added member in the post status box. Now we have one more option which is called pending review. How that is very different from draft beats me. Cause in the end if i don’t really like my draft i can always kill it.
  4. Now moving away from the write page, what I found a tad bit a annoying was how if there is a new program, there will be this subtle line in your plugins page or at whatever page your on that there is a new program available, so i have to update pronto… sigh.. not that it’s a bad thing, it’s just annoying.
And yeah i ran out of topics thats why I ended up blogging about wordpress. haha
I went to see Black Eyed Peas up in Genting Highlands!!! And all thanks to Arin!!!!! Thank you!!!! You can see more of my pictures on my picasa album. We managed to get tickets, how don’t ask, we got them and it was all worth it. Albeit a bit mad on Friday cause it was such a rush, thought we were going to miss it, nearly got sick from the drive up, had to walk in ridiculous heels when I should’ve been practical and worn sneaks…But I got to see FERGIE!!!! She’s absolutely fabulous and glamorous. So let’s talk about the concert. First of I don’t know why they held it up at Genting for such a minimal amount of people of a good few thousands. The start of it was with all the Black Eyed Peas members singing their popular song like “My Hump”. Then the best part was when they each came on to do their own solo number. Of course we had the Filipino dude, apl.de.ap singing his song “Filipino”, Will singing “I Got if from my Mama “, and then… and then!!! Fergie!!!!!!!! I flipped when I heard her song “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Glamorous” and “London Bridge”. She’s fab! Taboo and Will.i.am were really funny too, with each intro to a song being some sorta joke. And if you are wondering what she was wearing. Sad to say for the boys, it was nothing great and would put PCD t shame. But hey come on, I’m not there to see what she’s wearing. I’m there to see them perform and perform THEY DID! It was absolutely smashing and well worth the trip up. Thank goodness I stay close to Genting… sorta. lol Oh and Fergie can flip man!!! She did flips while singing. I really like the fact that they appreciate every member in the group, musicians, dancers and bodyguards alike. Will and Fergie each requested the audience to clap for each member. Oh oh oh and the best part which was so entirely cool was the part where Will asked the lights to be dimmed down and he asked everyone to lift up their phones. That was sooo cool. It was like a sea of lights but just with phones. To be honest, I didn’t really pay a lot of attention to Black Eyed Peas before, but I do love their music. Having said that, Nessa is so mad at me for going…. Sorrrryyyyy!! I know she would’ve love to have gone for it…This is their fourth time down in Malaysia so don’t worry, they’ll be back. But on thing that got me upset was.. all the videos i took had bad sound quality!!!!!!!! ackkk… but i managed to get some that were at least not so irritating tot he ears. You can view them on my youtube account here. Here’s roughly a list of what they sang (not in order mind you… cause I can’t really recall):
  1. Don’t Phunk With My Heart
  2. My Humps
  3. Don’t Lie
  4. Filipino
  5. I Got it from my Mama
  6. Big Girls Don’t  Cry
  7. Glamorous
  8. London Bridge
  9. Pump It
  10. Let’s get it started / retarded
  11. Where Is The Love?
People, Ari showed me this video of this young 14 year old girl by the name of Charice Pempengco. And boyyyyyyyyyyy can she sing!!!! For such a teeny tiny body, she’s got the voice of Christina Aguilera coming up. Just check out this comparison video of her and Beyonce. The Phillipinoes are really really talented people in singing. Is it in their blood? Gosh thats some strong musical blood going. But is it really her… I mean I would love to believe its her. And for what it’s worth, while Beyonce got dissed by some on her movie Dreamgirls, I think “Listen” is truly one of her best best best songs. It’s really beautiful and never fails to give me goosebumps. Oi!! You recording labels out there. Virgin Music, Hollywood Records, EMI… whatever. Go and head hunt this girl. There’s such potential for her!
Dear readers, I was going through a few of those free hosting sites and I came across one particular one with space that drove me up the wall, not to mention that it had a bundle loads of applications that came along with it. The free hosting provider is Gigacities. clip_resize.jpg And guess how much of space? 20000MB = 20GB ………………………. Mygawssshh that’s huge for a free site. I just got back from KL Hilton and Praise The Lord, no jam! Heh, and this is how they do checking at the entrance of the parking lot, which I found rather interesting. Not only is there a barricade but you ahve two guards to check the cars as they go into the parking space to Hilton and La Meridian. I’ll be writing a different post on the “G-Talk” later on Jacozzi. 22102007886_resize.jpg What was I there for – Google Marketing Brief. It was basically Google telling marketers what are the available products out there, that can be very useful and helpful to agencies and other budding businesses. Well I’m an avid Google fan. My email is gmail, my album is mostly all on Picasa, I do use their Analytics…etc…Yes I’m a Google “Maximizer”! lol. The talk was given by Jayesh Easwaramony(Frost and Sullivan Minion), Lori Sobel (Google Minion) and Derek Callow (Google Minion). Derek, whom I had already met at the Singapore Global Brand Forum.  Heheh sorry for the minion titles, but hey I’m a Google – user Minion lol. 22102007814_resize.jpg Google at the start. 22102007834_resize.jpg Jayesh being asked a question by another Google member. 22102007836_resize.jpg Lori with a background of her a preso, which I have seen a good many times in other presentations. 22102007862_resize.jpg Derek just before his presso. Anyway the talk was rather interesting, though I think there could have been more. As a person that uses their products, it is always great to more so see what else can be done with their products, rather then just them telling me straight up what they have. Cause, for my case anyway, I already know the products available and yes while there is the “manual” online to read and tell me how to use it…. Google… it’s about the users experience like you say….so have pity on some of those out there, who really do not have the luxury to read the fine print. But share with us further on how we can further utilize the tool, how we can experiment with it, which was why I do strongly suggest workshops for exiting and possibly new users, if you want more people to know about the products. It’s almost in a way like Adobe products. You won’t know how good it is until you are thoroughly familiar with them. To some extent you can call me lazy for not wanting to read, but from a general P.O.V, aren’t most people?? Forgive me for being bras. But for what its worth… I still love Google :) See my smile!
