I am not spreading it, but more so I just want to tell people what the fuss is about on BootB, for those who have heard of it anyway. BTW the site is down. [ifilm]http://www.ifilm.com/video/2916120[/ifilm] It is an online e-agency that basically allows people – doesn’t matter from what background, or how age – to go online to their site and put up their ideas for particular briefs from varied companies. Ok maybe that didn’t make sense. Let me give an example. Brand A wants their new product Z to become a big hit in the online community. Z is a product that is meant for the youth market and they hope that brand A will be embedded in the minds of the consumers when they buy Z. So they send out a creative brief to ad agency and the agency will consult and give them an idea to help market their product. That is your typical brief. All brands want some sort of awareness and exposure. But how to do it creatively or successfully that’s a different story. What BootB is doing here, is allowing the normal people like you and me, to go ahead and give a crack at presenting a creative idea to Brand A base on their creative brief. From there they will even pay you the professional fees that they would normally give to agencies. So you know how sometimes there are ads that we look at, get thoroughly annoyed with it and thought to ourself “I can make a better ad than that.”Yeah BootB gives you the platform to go ahead and let that thought out…literally. are in mind though the competition will be massive. While advertising agencies have been the traditional means of creating ideas but now brands are looking towards other means of getting creative ideas. Bootb seems to be one of them. While it can mean the end of typical advertising. But I think that the agencies should not be so thoroughly negative about it. Sure the normal agencies may be in some sort of trouble which means that companies/brands may not go to them anymore. But rather I think they should find a way to integrate it. Besides anyone can go ahead and take part.In a way it’s bad too because, big ad agencies that have built themselves base on strong credentials are not taken into account. It’s like as if, you as an individual you’re PHD means nothing in order to get you into Harvard. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can get into Harvard as long as they have a brilliant mind… maybe that wasn’t the best example, but you get what I mean. Reputation and credibility does not seem to matter in this aspect. But then again, I doubt very much even if an individual has an idea, it can be carried it out all the way. Not unless he has a team of people to carry it forward. The idea maybe there, but you still need people to do the execution. All the hands on work, which is where the agency comes in. The creative billboards, posters, production… for a person that has no idea how to go about it, and even if the vision is there, it has to be explained through an entire stream of people. From how I see things building up of late. Everything is about consolidation and integration. Take for example flickr, facebook, six apart, blogspot and so on so forth. They are all linked to one another in some way. So ok BootB maybe the new “service” in the market, why not join forces with them? Or even an agency do up something like that. Just my thoughts.. you can read more on the article on Bootb:

Yesterday i had gone out during lunch hour to find a sword for this coming Saturday’s performance. Needless to say, I went to the Pavillion, which by the way is only good for posh clothing-cum-cosmetics- shopping, that is overly priced. The stupid huge place didn’t even have a toy store! And when they did it was only a smallllllll teensy weennsy Toys R Us…!!!???? A huge store like that and the Toys R Us is hidden within Parkson. Hello you are huge shopping mall and I don’t care if you have Jaguars to showcase on your window pane! You must have a toy store. A proper one! How are kids going to entertain themselves.. Seriously! Anyway back to J.Co Donuts. Me and Arin had gone there, for the one sole purpose (for him anyways) to get his donuts. I knew they were a hot thing in town, but this was ridiculous. Here’s what it looks like… jco-donuts_01_resize.jpg You see that line? It’s sooo long.. jco-donuts_06_resize.jpg Btw they do have free wi fi there… nothing new. I was giving Arin the camera to take pics… jco-donuts_03_resize.jpg and when i got into the line… it got even longer… by a few more people! It was like a long “S” shaped line… so there were about three rows before even touching the counter. jco-donuts_07_resize.jpg jco-donuts_08_resize.jpg You would think that I am so close to the donuts that means I’m near the counter… jco-donuts_11_resize.jpg I’m not! I’m still far away from the counter. We were soooo close… and I was just staring at the donuts… Some were glazy, some were shiny with chocolate on top and another with pink glossiness so bright. This was not right! I was looking at them for so long (it was about 45 mins at this point in the line), to the point I got jelak! Jelak meaning i wanted to throw up because I was already full from looking at the darn donuts. While waiting, I managed to take snaps of their interior. Pretty neat, i like the upside down cups they stuck on their wall. jco-donuts_13_resize.jpg and some of their customers… who went nuts with the buying of donuts.Look at the number of boxes here. jco-donuts_12_resize.jpg When we finally got them, I insisted on taking a picture in the car. I had to take a good pic with all the fuss on these donuts! jco-donuts_14_resize.jpg Here we have glazy (The original donuts which is covered with a layer of caramel sugar – i think !?), followed from the top row Almonds, Oreology, Chocolate, Tiramisu and Just Peanut. My conclusion.. I don’t know what the hype on these donuts are, accept that it is a new building with a new coffee sitting place. The ambiance is nice, cozy homey but as for the donuts..? They are a slightly different texture as compared with the then dominating donut house, Dunkin Donuts. So alright it’s something different. But in the end… it’s just a donut! The one I have yet to try is Krispy Kreme Doughuts (and yes the correct way of spelling Doughnuts.. at least how i have been taught anyway), the one that Giden kept telling me about when he was in Sydney. Sheeeesh don’t tell me.. buy me one! I heard that if you want to open up a franchise anywhere you need at least half a million to start off. I have not heard of it being in any Asian countries so far. I think they are trying to keep it that way.. I could be wrong. But there’s my DOUGHNUT day.
Ahhhh McDreamy… I just realised how I have not yet, put up a post on how addicted I am to Grey’s Anatomy. Which also happens to be my favourite TV Show other than Lost… and many others. Anyway I wanted to post on the upcoming movie enchanted. I just saw the trailer from their Singapore website – Enchanted.

Disney, disney, disney….They did it again! As always another love story coming out from the magical world of Disney. This time what they have lined up is a princess played by Amy Adams, who is pushed into some sort of fountain vortex into our world. She then meets with all the terrible grumpy people of the world who have never experience talking animals – save for parrots, breaking out into song suddenly, and making clothes out of peoples curtains. No she is in culture shock! It’s hilarious!!!!!!! And James Marsden who is acting as Prince Edward is just as funny! I love the part where he smacks and hugs the ‘magic mirror’ – what we call here the Television. oh and you gotta love the chipmunk… or is it a squirrel that goes around NY with Prince Edward? He looks like such a goof ball haha.. but he played his part well. Hard to get Cyclops out of the head… but James managed to show that he can be the pretty boy prince too. Check out the wicked witch played by Susan Sarandon. Is it any wonder that she is brilliant. I just saw her in a rerun of “Friends” yesterday, and she is versatile as can be. Ranging from a psychotic mom, to a comedian and now to the nasty witch. And ooooh my favourite person in the whole movie… Mr Patrick Dempsey who acts as Robert Philip, the sweet human guy that helps out helpless princess and prince back to their world. Our lovely McDreamy…. All girls… now sigh with me…. ***swoooonnnn*** I can’t wait to watch it. It’s already out in the cinemas! I’m so behind… What makes it appealing to the audience, is that the movie takes a bit on making a mockery of the past Disney movies by mixing and animation together with reality. In all fairness it is nothing new, it has been done before. However it is always some thing to see a Disney work it’s magic.
Ah.. well… it has come to the last days of the “Practical Aesthetics” class that is held at KLPAC conducted by David Lim. I have thoroughly enjoyed myself in the classes held over there and really experience is one thing, I am taking away with me, but more so I’m really happy to have met all the people in the class. New friends and new shared interest. That said, I won’t continue further till the class is really finished. Anyways, purpose of the class was to either enhance or teach us another method of acting. Which required lots of THINKING! Wasn’t an easy class, I can actually say. At some points one can get really confused with the technique. Homework was also inevitable..lol… and we had to do scenes taken from either TV shows, films, or monologues. One of the scenes we ended up trying out was from friends and it was a real blast to do it.. haha… albeit a bit weird but really a lot of fun just practicing late at night with the gang and just trying out how to work round it. Here are the two scenes we were trying.. and it really made me miss the series Friends a lot. I mean well they really grow on you. Even now I can still remember trailers from the show before it first started and it looked so cool…comfy and lighthearted- as how a bunch of friends should be. I suppose they had naturally good chemistry going on. Which I have also come to realize, is such an important factor for both actors to have the right chem. It’s not essential at the first go but it does make the work a lot easier. Imagine yourself having to act like best friends with a person you don’t really know. Have fun with the scenes. This one is the very first episode of Friends in season 1. And this is the other one from the scene where Monica gets stung by a jellyfish. season 4 episode 1. You can really see how much not just the cast but also the writers have grown in their stories.
Every once in a while Facebook would have these flyer ads popping up on the side of the content panel and for a while now I have noticed this particular ad, which is on “data entry made easy“. What is it about? Basically you key in some data entry stuff and you are paid something like $25 per hour. Yes in USD. That said though… I don’t know how much this can actually be trusted. It’s almost too tempting and too simplistically  easy for you to  make money.  There are a lot of scam programs out there.  I mean thinking about it why do i have to pay in order to make money? So for those who wanna give it a go… I’d advise against it.  I also tried scouting out a bit on forums.. and only managed to find this thread. Where someone actually said it is a scam.
