Hehe… well I woke up this morning and took a look at my Nuffnang analytics. I found it so cute…Yes yes I am so easily amused. It was showing such a neat Stair pattern. Take one step and another step… stair1.png I know i doesn’t look to good but after that it started picking up again and who would make fun of their stats going down.. But just look at the way it was going.. hehe. I remember there was a post not too long ago saying that by analysing the analytics on nuffnang you can increase the number of visits to your blog. Well i decided to try it. Basically I’ve been taking a look at my visitors and they come in somewhere round after hours. So just slightly after midnight if i were to blog there will be more visitors coming in. (I’m really sorry I don’t remember the post, but if someone does please tell me and i’ll link it with that paragraph) To some extent it does work but I can tell you, what can really help your stats for your blog is to blog more often. There was just one day when I didn’t blog because my site was down.. remember this one….Arrggghh!! Yeah that was the day i couldn’t blog. So to make up for bad blogging time. I blogged quite a few topics after that and the stats went up slowly but back up again. Sigh so sad it becomes like a popularity contest or a race just to get your blog more happening out there.. ah well.. whatever… it should be about the blogger having a free voice and writing what the feel like writing. Depending on each individual writer. I’m quite tired of people who do not understand much about blogging, and they keep insisting that blogging is all about writing about a person’s life and day. While that is true to some extent but I don’t think it goes for every single person. For myself I may right about certain things I see that are interesting or worth while posting up. It’s just interesting to look at things from different eyes and I think that is what blogging has enabled us to do. So to those who don’t know about blogging or are unsure about what it does, instead of having presumptions about it, give it a try. Some may say it’s a waste of time, some may say I don’t want to write about what I did in the morning and how I brush my teeth…. la la la..It’s really up to you what you would like to write about. There is no right or wrong in blogging….. Right? :P
Just headed out to Pavillion for lunch, and I must say that i’m starting to like it more and more. I noticed that just to get the attention going they have a number of weird people walking around on the pavements of Pavillion.. Ok they aren’t weird, they are probably dancers dressed up in dolled up, masquerade-ish outfits that normal people would never wear. But they were pretty cool. Check them out. I personally like this guys costume. So regal and medieval hehe… my favourite period.

Plus there seems to be some life jazz band and orchestra performances going on there. It looked pretty good and the stage was absolutely gorgeous. They were performing at bout 1.30pm and have another one today at 7pm. This is from 26-29th of Dec. I only managed to hear a little bit of their performance but it sounded pretty good, plus they are all young musicians. Just take a look at that white tree… I saw someone going up that spiraling white elephant while passing it. Think it was sound check. Feels so magical… ***Sings*** walking in a winter wonder land..

Well as much as I’m up in Penang. I was bored to death and why??????? I’m stuck indoors. I’m stuck looking at the computer. I’m stuck watching my boyfriend play DOTA with his brothers for the past few days. DOTA is Defense of the Ancients a darn stupidly epidemic of a game, made by Blizzard Entertainment. DOTA in a way is a branch of from Warcraft. That’s all fine and dandy, because he doesn’t get to play with them much when he is back in KL. But my gosh!!!! I’m soooooo bored!!!! The only thing that is keeping me sane, was blogging and writing on how bored I was… …. As I type that… I find it rather sad!! Oh goshhhh!!! I mean hello… everything that he and his brothers ever talk about is DOTA this DOTA that. Everything that is even remotely unrelated they will make it related with DOTA. In all fairness I tried to like the game.. really really I did!! But its enough to make me puke really!! Look at how intense they are both staring at the comp. img_0523.JPG In Penang they played all the way.. and that’s who I spent Christmas.. starting at them if not at my comp… while they played DOTA. Its the super unhealthiest lifestyle ever! I give credit to gamers, but my gosh!!!!!!!!! Now the boys are down in KL and all they can think about in the car and out of the car is playing DOTA. Hellooooooo go out and see some sun. go and shop or whatever it is you want to do… yet another DOTA day…. sigh…. Spare me!!! img_0527.JPG
I decided to blog about this because I think it’s a concern that has always been there and it is an issue that is just going to repeat itself. Just today, a good friend of mine got scammed by somebody, whom he calls his friend. See this friend of mine is about 13 years old, and he is just starting to fine his wings in mixing with other people. He usually prefers staying at home to play games, but of late he has taken on a keen interest in shuffling.Today my young friend had hope to collect something from this other friend of his at 4pm. Unfortunately for my poor friend, the fella who promised to turn up at 4pm, had made him wait the whole day at the mall. Brilliant way to spend your Christmas huh. Hanging out at the mall waiting to pick up some item, which I do not think is even worth waiting for let alone even buying! Now here’s the thing, I’ve had a worry for sometime because of the unfortunate misconceptions that people have regarding people who dance the shuffle. I am not a fan of the Melbourne Shuffle, I can say out flat. i don’t think it is a fantastic dance neither do I think it shows off much skill as a dancer, I’m a traditional prude dancer. And also just listening to the music of shuffling, it is that of acid/house music.

Besides shuffling came from the Melbourne underground, which is related with clubbing, which is related with acid and house music, which can be related with drugs, which can be related with bad company…… emphasis can be! I’m not saying is. I am not going to say these shuffle dancers all have the same attitude and behave the same way, but from what I have seen around in certain areas, they are not exactly the best kind of people that I would want a young teenager mixing with. Anyways, my friend is a real sweet boy but he can be bit blurishly naive, or more so he does not know what is out there in the ‘real world’ – or what i will call the realm outside of your home. Teenagers – they are the generation that is trying to find their identity. Now the beauty of media, movies and tv, teens have been brought up with the two superficial cliques that are prominent throughout the year. The popular group and the unpopular group.

The popular group, you know the typical people who are ‘IN’. The group that is somehow either known by all, some may be rich, some my have some skill that people think is cool, or they have materials that are super bogus. The unpopular group, consists of the people that are either not known, they aren’t well off, they are just well normal. They don’t have some super personality that creates some chemistry in the air. My point here is that, teens are so susceptible to being pressurd by their peers, or the want to be “cool”. This is absolutely nothing new. And it is only those kids who are street smart or have no interest whatsoever with the superficial that will seem to turn out alright. Alright as in they won’t resort to drugs, booze and ridiculous stuff that they hope will make them look cool.

I hope parents teach their kids to know how to mix with the right group. Never mind that maybe the thing he is interested in attracts the bad crowd, but the teenager must know who are his real friends and not. Some may rip the teens off from their money, so may bully them into doing what the seniors want.. simply because they are young and inexperience of things around them. It’s crucial, the people whom they choose to mix with, will shape what they will become in the near future…so they need to how to first be aware of these crazy pack of wolves disguised as sheep and choose to pull away from them is need be. This is just a thought… I’m just trying to understand this as what I saw today, was pretty much a lecture that my parents would’ve given me years ago. On being careful and all.
As some of you might know. I’m away for Christmas this year… again. I usually hold Christmas open house at my place in KL. But for the past two years – this year included – I decided to spend time with my boyfriend’s family. Now that is all fine by me, it was entirely my decision, not him asking me and all to go with him back to Penang. That said though, I don’t know why but I really miss home this time. I miss spending time with my family, I miss spending my Christmas with my superbly generous dad, my crazy mom, my overly noisy siblings, my repeating-every-question-again grandma, my aunt and most of all my doggies. :( I remember the first time year we had Benji – my Australian Silky Terrier, it was so cute, we bought the little fella a gift for Christmas. Wrapped it up and al, and he was so excited – as much as a dog can be, anyway – to get his gift. He took it in his mouth and started ripping the wrapping paper. Needless to say, he got very protective of the present and started growling at us. Hahahaha. But just spending it here. I miss the stuff i used to do with family… may it be a dinner or something… I still miss their company. I mean I love it here in Penang. It’s a slower pace compared to the hustle and bustle of KL. And I love Giden’s family and their new family member, Abbey heheh. It’s great to be near him, but gosh… i just feel like being at home…. I called them up and spoke with them for a bit, so I feel better. But I think next year I’ll make it a point to spend time with them. This is the only time of the year that I really enjoy. Maybe it’s also because I saw this episode, which I keep talking about from Gossip Girl. The episode entitled Roman Holiday. I mean despite the couples in the show, wanting to spend time with one another, they did it on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, they spent it with their own families. Which was nice. Have a look.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfP2yoyfVtM Doens’t the video bring a tear to your eye…. I mean if anybody were to feel like home I’m feeling now… hehehe. Which would bring a little tear to me eye.

Picture taken from DCPrintsThis post is dedicated to my family. Simply for being there for me and I’m thoroughly grateful for them in all they do. Despite some short comings and petty arguments, I still love them. So Merry Christmas to you guys at home. Dad, Mom, Nessa, Lincoln, Grandma and Ah Kor. And yeap Evelyn too. As well as Duchess, Benji and Rex (they are my dogs, they can’t understand and neither will they ever go online, but i’m still wishing them anyway!) Love you all. XOXO. Hehehe Your Little Girl, Linora
