My new Eyes!!!

Uncategorized 7 April 2007 | Comments

I woke up with shileds on my face. Everything was a bit blur as I opened my eyes. But at the corner of one side… I could see something clear. Then slowly I took off one patch and then I took off the other shield patch. And then….

HALLLLLLEEELLUJJJAHHHH….

I can see. No more glasses and more contacts. I can see with just my own two eyes. A sigh of relief I woke up and then got ready to go see my ophthalmologist at Ampang Puteri.

Ok in all fairness. I can see without glasses, but for now it’s a bit blur, which is natural. The eyes are still dry and I do have a case of dry eye syndrome even before the eye laser surgery operation.

In the words of Michelle and Hwa. “It’s like a miracle” and “It’s the best I ever did in my life”

Ok now let me tell you of what the whole thing felt like. Before going for a the surgery have to very important things with you.
1. ALWAYS have a person with you. You can’t possibly drive after the surgery. Mom, bf, husband whatever as long as you have someone with you.
2. Have yourself prepared with the darkest and biggest sunglasses you possibly have (just a precaution). The sun was unbelievably glaring when I went for my Lasik.

Big Sunglasses

The doc, then did a very neat cut on my cornea to make the flap, that is when I was blind for a second or two. She opened the corneal flap and said continue staring at the green light and the laser did it’s work of cutting my cornea. That lasted to melike forever but it was over in a few seconds then she closed the corneal flap. You could actually see her window wiping my EYE! To ensure it was placed properly.

Right eye done, now on to the Left eye.

Mom saw the whole procedure on a tv in the other room. I would love to show it to you but honestly don’t be like me and freak yourself out by watching your surgery JUST before you do it. Hahaha.

All in all it was a fast surgery. And painless except for the uncomfortable part of your eye being pried open. I totally recommend this for those who are not afraid to do it, who is a good candidate and also if you can financially cover it. Especially for those like us who are young, if it allows you to see again. It is a miracle! Thank you God, for having given this ability to man! The surgery however, leave it up to God, in the end it’s still a human and a machine doing it.
