The last 6 hours of blindness
I finally got the nerve, support and also medical thumbs up sign to finally go ahead with Lasik. I don’t have to where glasses after this surgery. And yes I am nervous! The op shall proceed at 2pm or so today and – check this – will last for 15 mins or less. Fastest surgery ever. Sure beats my wisdom teeth extractions which I did in…last year? Yeah all 4 but that’s a diferent story.
Anyway, the ophthalmologist (did I spell that right) I went to is Dr Baljit Kaur and I’ve been seeing her for all my regular eye checkups. Anyway after checkingon my minor eye infection which was konjunctivitis (am I spelling this right???) she told me “Nope, you can’t continue wearing your contact lenses, if not you are likely to go blind in the future.”
…… – *FX Kaw kaw kaw – see a bird flying over my head –
Blind? Is she kidding me? Ok…why take the risk for vanity’s sake. So I dropped the contact lenses wearing. Besides I had to spend a lot of hassle in the bathroom and also on eyedrops just to keep the eyes from getting dry.
Oh yeah I’m suppose to be talking about the last 6 hours with my glasses. Well what can I write?
1. I woke up with blurry vision
2. I had to pat pat pat around to find my darn specs on either my table or bed…. I usually leave it on my chair that acts as my night table.
3. I drove the parked car away to let Giden go to work – without my glasses!
4. Then shuffled here and there with my blurry vision again..
5. Finally here I am… blogging about the last 6 hours.
I did the stupid thing of viewing videos from YouTube on lasik so I could put it here….. Now I’m traumatised. Mental note, never see a surgery till after you’ve gone through with it.
The last two images I shall see myself with glasses i the morning.. Whoooopeee.
Stay tuned to find out what happens…hahah… If I have gong blind or not! Oh Lord please don’t let me go blind. I leave it all into Thy all knowing hands.
