Streamyx 4.0mbs….LOL

With all due respect, I hope that some maybe open to yet another critique regarding Streamyx.

I’m feeling the need to vent out a little, because I honest to goodness, find Streamyx to be the lousiest service ever possible to anything that is even remotely related to internet. Firstly as it was once the dominating service for broadband, there was no other choice but to use this service as the only means of gaining unlimited internet access at all times for a reasonable price of RM88 = 1MBps. Which I’d like to also comment that customers are not even getting a 1MBps service. Instead they are only getting about at least 600kbs. I mean hello! We are paying a fair amount and that is what we are getting?

And all this while, when there were no other services to compete with it. It stayed comfortably offering this measly service to us hopeful Malaysians thinking that this is “internet”. Then FINALLY Maxis came out with their 3G Broadband service. So now since Streamyx feels threatened in terms of broadband business. They decided to notch it up and offer – guess what – Oh My Gosh and unbelievable package of 4mbps. The fastest ever in speed. WOW!!! (**Can you sense my overwhelming sarcasm, which is dripping with disdain.**) . However, the speed of service is still on ‘best effort basis’ and quote!

Streamyx joke
Seriously! And it’s for a ridiculous price of RM198  month. For all you know we would only be getting the actual 1MBs that we had all subscribe too before. Wiring is poor here, furthermore it cant’ support. Not unless, the government does something and about the wiring for all the housing areas and work buildings.

The forums at lowyat and other places are also giving off the same vibes. Check out what they have to say at these links and have a good laugh. I personally like this lil line “I had enuff with 1.0 mbps…..4.0 mbps means 4 times the headache, 4 times the regret and 4 times the loss….”
