From the monthly archives: October 2008
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been hitting it hard on the threadmill almost everyday for about a session ranging from 30 minutes – 40 minutes. According to my trainer pal, I’m not allowed to skip and I have been doing my best to not skip. Trying to keep a record of this, I haven’t been logging it down on paper so much. Rather I’ve been keeping track by stating it on my plurk. So far I’ve been a good girl. But still can’t really compete with the time I trained for the competition for WSFFM, partial sports aerobics there. I kinda miss it actually and makes me a feel a tad bit sad, that I’m not doing it anymore. But that’s me swaying to yet another topic.  So yeah, I was outta shape for a reasonably good amount of time. For 6 months, I didn’t see my gym, I wasted about 175 a month to a gym I wasn’t going to (that’s BAD!) and neither did i see drop of sweat (that SUCKS!). This was me before.  I think Mister G had recorded this while I was practising with girls for our routine then. This was 3 years ago.. crap. What I’m doing here is called the pancake. I hated it.. but it was so cool when I could finally do it. Torturous too.. don’t think i can now. Basically your suppose to split into a side split and then roll forward while closing your legs behind you.

Still don’t get it? Lemme show video lol..  That las bit that was a pancake.. Working out is probably the hardest thing to do. Cause you have to constantly motivate your ownself. As they say it’s your body. And if you wanna waste it to shreds go ahead and be a bum. People all make the excuses that they don’t have time to go for a workout. But when I think about it now.. is purely bad excuses. It’s only 30 to 40 minutes in a day to do some sort of cardio. Like skipping or jogging. Heck the road is there for you. Go walk la! No one is torturing you to sprint. Even a few minutes is great for your health.  When my friend said he wanted to help work me out. Honestly I felt nervous a bit. Reason being, your workout is like a relationship. It’s about whether you can commit to keeping it steady and letting it grow. So likewise.. my body and muscles become my new relationship that I need to keep pushing.  Right now I’m considering to tryout Pushmore after much rave by it by another friend. But i’ve no one to go with :( pleh… whatever.
This is not something new but for those of you out there, who like to customise and personalise just about everything you have – especially when it comes to blogs and especially if yours happens to be a wordpress platform. Then you are going to love this little plugin. This plugin allows you to personalise your own wordpress login page.  This is a before and after shot of my own login page.

Not too shabby, eh? The image before is what your wordpress login page would look like with WordPress 2.6 and above. The one after it is the one I have made base on the template given with the plugin download. The plugin is called  Binary Moon Custom Login Plugin. What you need to do to get this effect going on for ya. Is to first download the plugin above.  Designing your new layout.  You need to create two images. One is the login-bkg-tile.gif and login-bkg-bottom.gif  or save them as jpegs. Whatever suits your fancy. These two images will make up the look of the wordpress login. You’ll find what you need in the template folder.  Once you have designed your new layout, save them into the folder wp-content/plugins/bm-custom-login/images. Make sure you save them exactly as these two names login-bkg-tile.gif and login-bkg-bottom.gif.  Activate the wordpress plugin and wa la! You’re done and you have a brand new WordPress Login to stare at hehe. Honestly no one else will see it unless you are sharing your blog or you have multiple writers. But it’s great to have it for some kicks. If you don’t really have an idea for your design, you can also head on to the bm-custom-login flickr group. You can read the original post here at Binarymoon or just go on straight and download the plugin. :)
One of my favourite sites to visit for some wordpress inspiration is WeLoveWP.com. It is basically a gallery filled with blogs that uses the wordpress structure and all of them either have some unique designs for their skins or something way graphicky.  So I’m very very proud to say that Aronil.com has now been approved to be apart of that gallery. Hee hee yes I’m ecstatic. Adn guess what. Even better at the moment I’m now on the front page of the site. Woopa die doo :) It’s a thrill to see your design up on a gallery that showcases your stuff. Hehe.

Being stuck at home today with a bad tummy, resulted in me browsing the internet. If you check out on my recent post on Dual Monitor Wallpaper, i mentioned one of my favourite sites to visit which is HongKiat. While browsing his post I happend upon the 30+ Nicest Photoshop Photo Effects.  There was this tutorial called “Adding Light streaks to a Photo”. That’s when I got the inspiration to do something with Photoshop for a while. It’s pretty much the same effect like that for the Phoenix i have on my header. I’ve always wanted to play around with this kinda cool shot Nick Dorian took of me at No Black Tie. This was the original image.

Hence after about a couple of minutes tweaking and playing – this is what I got.

lightstreaks

I don’t mind it, but I might have gone overboard. Any thoughts on what i should lessen on – gimme it. The effects I had used was that of the lighting tails, tweaking around with outer glow under layer style. With a hint of dissolve effects here and there.
