Chic Flick

Just Me, Love, Movies 16 October 2008 | Comments

There is a good reason why they call them chic flicks. I had a craving to watch a movie which was rather girly, just for some laughs. The last one I saw was at the cinema thanks to Nuffnang which was Made of Honour

Sure I know stories like these are so ‘childish’ and all mushy. But it’s stories like that which entertains us girls with our teeny tiny fantasies, of waiting for “some knight to come riding up on his horse”. I like to be swept of my feet. I like to think chivalry, white knights or rather guys who care and bother about you do exist. That there is a reason to live… – hmm i’m going in the wrong direction here – but for ladies out there you get what I mean. It does put a smile on our faces when we see something sweet happening. Like when the girl cries, and the guy suddenly appears out of nowhere because he just felt that she was not doing so good.

The kind of men that will just send you stuff just cause… it’s a wednesday. The type that just enjoy nothing but your presense and the joy of seeing you smile. Sigh yeah I’ve gone into lalala land now.

But can you blame me.

This one of the many reasons why they call ‘em chic flicks. After all that mumbo jumbo of cloud nine, basically what I’m trying to say is that I have just viewed ‘27 Dresses‘. Starring Katherine Heigl and James Marsden. It’s a predictable piece about how a girl never gets the man she wants. Instead she’s always the girl behind the scenes. She’s the one that everyone can depend on, because she’s so consumed with making other people happy that she doesn’t have time to care for her ownself.

Sigh..

It wasn’t a terribly wonderful, poignant movie, but it made me smile. And can I just mention that I am in love love love love with the soundtrack of 27 Dresses by the music composer Randy Edelman. Gorgeous soundtrack scores… Hmm i blame it on the soundtrack for making me feel all light headed hee..

hahaha it's a nice bit of entertainment. I didn't see the Vegas one. But Oh yeah The Notebook is a beautiful classic. Though I won't really call it a chic flick. More a romance movie.

Can't help it, as someone who loves and appreciates all movies, I do like Chick Flicks. The last one I saw was "What Happens in Vegas" with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz, and it was very good in my opinion. But one of my favorite chick flicks of all time was "The Notebook" one of the greatest love stories ever.
