Happy Working Song

Just Me, design 5 October 2008 | Comments

For the past two days I’ve been working really hard on a new layout for aronil.com. Yes yes I know I just changed it now to long ago. But this current one you are looking at, this sketchy very pastel, with me at the top header with a bunch of swirls, is just really to my liking at the moment. It’s just not… satisfying.

While working I always enjoy some background music and just so happened this song started playing.

So yeah I started working on a new design.

Which should be ready, any minute second now…

any minute now…..

any hour now…..

Ok ok I don’t know when I’m going to get it done done, but I’m really working on it and so far I’m loving what I see! It has truly evolved from my paper sketches.

I haven’t updated any posts yet for the few days also because while in the midst of working on my new theme. I was also busy helping three of my friends with their own website. I volunteered for them to host their blogs on my site since I’ve got so much of free space in the living room. Why let unlimited space go to waste, besides I really wanted to spread the propaganda called Wordpress!! Bwaahahhaa. Yes I took blogsport bloggers and brought them over to wordpress and hence they now see the wonders of the Wordpress.. Bwahahahhahaah.. sorry biasness sprouting forth.

Let’s see if my new theme can be something I’m relaly really proud of. :)

good point on that, i was also going through reviews between white or dark. I noticed that a number of the popular sites like problogger, lorealle, webdesignerwall... etc they all have lighter tones for reading. meaning white. White is still the more preferred.. and contrary to that.. i read somewhere that when you read black on white your eyes will glaze over too.. lol.. who knows. It's just base on preference of each individual. PLus it seems that with dark, there may be less readers or something.

I gotta say, I've always liked dark themes myself. Even my own blog is dark-themed, remember? :D But I do take note of comments from readers, that dark themes with white fonts tend to make the eyes "glaze over" after awhile. Probably a psychological thing, since we read books with white pages and black fonts... so maybe the brain isn't used to seeing colours reversed.
