Maybe it's the fact that the sc-fi part just didn't feel like Indiana Jones. Granted that probably the pyramids and the babylonian temples, along with El dorado (if it did exist) could've been built by foreign beings from another planet. But with the spaceship coming it.. i felt like it lost it's archeology, mythos, feeling...which is meant to be like old, and in the days... not in the future.
