Trying Out ScribeFire

Reviews, Webstuff, firefox plugins 28 May 2008 | Comments

This is my first blog post that i’m writing up through Scribe Fire. I’ve been seeing this Firefox plugin for some time now and I recall installing it before, but didn’t really play around with it much last year. So here I am giving it a try now.

scribefire

I’m liking it ^_^. It’s pretty easy to use and very quick for those one off blog posts that I want to share with others about something. Rather than having to wait for my login page to load up. Putting up pictures is a breeze, I can just copy paste and it’s all in :) . Of course I’m not so sure whether it’ll work with my lightbox and flexible upload plugin.

On your firefox a small Scribe Fire icon will appear at the bottom.

ScribeFire Icon

And when you click on it, it brings out this new window which is directly on top of your current open tab. Font adjustments and inserting links, pictures and even video is all ready for you. Of course its only from Youtube.

scribefire2

On the right hand corner you will notice four tabs. Blogs, entries, categories and options.

You can do quite a lot with this little thing and you can add multiple blogs into this. Great for people like me who has to manage more than one blog. All your entries can be seen and even edited via scribefire. Add and delete categories. The options section allows you to edit the timestamp and tags which is tied up with technorati tags and can be even bookmarked on del.icio.us using the same tags.

scribefire3

bad part, means I have yet another plugin running on my already very filled up Firefox on plugins to the point it’s ready to throw up. ^_P

Mine's manual. Unzip the WP251 files, then FTP it up to the server. I don't
like all these "user friendly wizards"... so I never used them.

Mine are fine, so I have no clue what's the difference. Did you give full
    rights (777) to your themes directory? I know it's weird - 666 doesn't

work, 766 doesn't work. It needs to be 777, full rights on themes folders.

That means each theme you upload you have to give full 777 rights and

recurse them into all files and folders.

If your plugins also same problem, do the same - 777 rights on plugins.

Although mine work fine with the default 755 rights.

Anyway I have no clue what your function array error is, I never got it.
  • aronil
Dude need some help.. i got issues with the wordpress installed on both 10gb and 5gb... any thoughts? says i have a function arrary error ... can't see my themes and plugins... at all!
  • aronil
Smart choice :) but i find they have issues either that or slow :( ... might give it a try again though.

Nyek nyek nyek.. very funny!!! Checking the link out now. Over all I think writing online with the actual interface is still better lol. BTW i noticed u have two sites on powerdropping... dayyuummnn, what free site are u using for those?
  • FoxTwo
Hahahah yeah due to lots firefox extensions and so on, I also use the web
interface to update my blogs. I still do use WLW for some posts, just

basically depends on mood and laziness I guess. Sometimes I'd use WLW

sometimes I'd blog from the web.

Oh here's something "new" for you to check out - zemanta at

    <a href="http://www.zemanta.com " rel="nofollow">http://www.zemanta.com

So that you don't have to "stumble around" for a few more weeks before

    finding this :)

Ahhhh no i figured out how to post a reponse to the comment. I tot of giving live writer a go.. but due to all the plugins i have on my wordpress which allows me to update my blog the way I want.. I'm having my doubts about both. lol... maybe i won't use them for aronil (too picky), i'll use them or one anyway for the other blogs.
  • FoxTwo
Personally I prefer Windows Live Writer over Scribefire... but they both essentially do the same job..
