Last year i shot my vey first feature film. i’m very proud to have been part of this project and it all began here actually when i first met with another thespian, Daphne Iking at the Astro Nida course. You can read about that here. And that was how it all began. She gave me a recommendation to the director Jason Chong. Met up with the man and from there everything else is history. One year later from then and a couple of months thrown in. All the hard work finally paid off. And the film is finally out in the cinema. Sure i may be writing about it a bit late now but better than never. eh
We / our movie industry needs all the help it can get. There has to be growth, but in order for there to be growth in promoting an industry there needs to be support. The right kind of support from the audience. ^_~ by the way constructive criticism is of course always welcomed. hehe but please also don’t expect like something you see in hollywood! There has to be a starting point and this is one of them. To a better storyline, a different style of directing and a giving a different demand in terms of genre not just mushy mushy lame love stories, political movies, and mat rempit films.
What do i play in this first film debut. A gangster girl by the name of Gincu. i feel it a responsibility actually to let audiences know about her name cause honestly… i find her a bit misunderstood. lol. I really enjoyed playing Gincu, who grew up the streets as an orphan. She was taken in by her boss TKO and learnt how to live her life by herself with a "different" kind of family. hehe. Don’t judge her black tarnished nails and bad ass pink her. She’s got a lot of issues that she had to deal with growing up.
yeah i gave her a whole background story haha. In short i kick ass… literally kick ass in the film.
Wanna see wanna see? narcissism is permitted in this post >.< if you are keen to have a looksie here is the trailer.
ps: oh and yes i will admit to being bigger in the film. it is true when they say the camera makes you put on 10 pounds. It’s not an excuse i know.. but it’s something to make me feel better wakakaka.
ue to the cinema resolution which is on 16:9. Think about it if something is shown on a widescreen resolution of course you’ll look.. bigger and wider >.< Yeah yeah yeah excuses
but it’s true i tell you! True!
