photoThis little lady maybe small in size but she comes with many surprises. The multi-talented Radio Announcer / Actress/ TV Host / Emcee / Graphic designer always new she wanted to perform. She has been blessed with an infectious smile, a bubbly personality and go getter attitude. Her journey in the entertainment line first started in kindergarten, where she did story telling at the young age of 5 years old. Over the years she took part in a number of story telling competitions and plays in school. The performer in her came to hiatus when she took on the role as a brand planner at the Multi National Company McCann Erickson.

But the entertainer in her was begging to come out and that was when she pushed herself in going back to performing – be it acting, dancing or singing. She has had the honor to work with people such as Joe Hasham and Colin Kirton in the theater world in acts such as Ismail:The Last Days and a Crazy Little Thing Called Love – both these productions won at the 7th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards. Linora made her first silverscreen debut in the film Belukar alongside local celebrities such as Daphne Iking and Bront Palarae. She was also trained briefly under the wing of Hollywood actor Nicholas Bishop when she took part in the Astro-Nida 2009 acting course. Linora’s crazy life doesn’t stop there. She’s been trained in ballet and jazz for her more delicately funky side and has also vocal training at the Singing Shop for over 3 years. She has a black belt under the World Taekwando Federation and still enjoys her physical activities such futsal and basketball.

Linora is also a self professed geek, give her any gadget and she’ll figure out how to use it within minutes. She’s also the webdesigner for a number of websites such as popular fashion label BritishIndia, a florist in Penang called G-Ray Florist, an LED company called  H-Max Malaysia and the official website of local singer Janet Lee. Her life as a radio DJ started after making it as one of the top three finalist at the RedFM Rudy’s Recruit, which was a nationwide search to find a radio host at the end of 2010. Being on air is demanding and requires you to always be alert. Despite that Linora believes in working hard at the job that you love and most importantly to have fun with what you do. Passion is the start of any creative juices. Playing the best songs over the air waves, interacting with thousands of listeners with just her voice and hearing them smile when she tells them they’ve won something or a song has made their day – are just priceless to her. Linora the Actress

photoLinora
started at the early age to acting. Kindergarten and her own bedroom where she would pull off little scenes from TV. I kid you not. Bubbly, filled with personality and smile that is infectious, she is bound to capture hearts. Her first step into the entertainment world began when she tried out for the role of an Angel – for a musical piece that was to aired on television. From there she further pursued her interest in acting. After that she managed to land herself a role in a TV series called “In Da Groove” in 2004, where she had fun playing a bimbo named, Bunny.

In the year 2005-2007 she focused more on her studies and career as a brand planner in McCann Erickson for year before coming back into the entertainment industry. Time in the advertising line was fast and entertaining. But the call to go back on to the stage was a lot stronger. At the end of 2007, she took a theatrical class Practical Acting Aesthetics thought by David Lim (a fellow actor) a KLPAC, which brought back her passion and motivation to continue acting. Immediately after that Linora didn’t waste anytime and jumped straight into yet another class. This time Acting for Beginners taught by a famous veteran in our performing arts field, Joe Hasham. Gaining more experience from the acting course, she managed to land her first ever theatre role as an ensemble in the musical Ismail: The Last Days directed by Joe Hasham. Not bad for a first year.

Following closely if not at the same time, she was also involved with the Christian performing arts group The Footstool Players spearheaded by Colin Kirton, another well known name in the industry, who acted in the very well acclaimed P. Ramlee The Musical. The team performed “A Crazy Little Thing Called Love” a series of short skits base on various types of relationships and the show also won “Best Group Performance” for the Boh Cameronian Awards 2010. In the show, Linora performed as three different characters which gave her a lot of room to learn how to be a versatile actor.

With theater as her background and great place to begin learning her craft, she then applied for the Astro-Nida (Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art) screen acting course. She landed a spot out of number of applicants and was taught under the guidance of Nicholas Bishop who is currently in starring in the TV Series Body of Proof. From there, Linora landed her first role in a movie entitled Belukar that starred local celebrities such as Bront Palarae and Daphne Iking. The film was shot in Sabah and was directed by Jason Chong. It was a rollercoaster ride and that was when Linora made her debut to the silverscreen.
