I have much to post about.. soo all of it will be done post by post. First up.. How the Guitar Music Festival Went. Here’s the thing.. I forgot that sometimes when I leave certain tabs open and revisit them.. they can screw an entire post that I took a good 20 minutes in order to get it all proper! Sigh… Ah well, my post on the Malaysia’s First Guitar Festival is gone. But at least now I can write ABOUT the event. Hehe.. i went for the final performance by not only the stars themselves but also the finalist of the guitar competition. Not all the stars however made it for the final show. John Goldie from UK and Jorge Orozco from Spain wasn’t there :( Tonight these were the star players. You can see more of the pictures here on AroniL’s picasa album and the performances which i recorded without shame here at AroniL’s youtube…. Hey I love these artists and I wanna share the love! ^_^

(L-R) Stan Zamfirescu , Roger Wang and Don Alder.

The night started off with the finalist of the guitar competition held last week. With four very talented boys from KL, PJ, and SJ…? I think that’s where most of them are from. Here they are the finalist. Each of them had to play two songs for the judges to hear which also happened to be our star of the night Stan, Roger and Don.

The guy at the far left won, Jia Ming…. I’m really sorry but I can’t recall their names and sad to say i didn’t manage to video all their performances. If anybody knows please do tell. :) And then finally…. after all four contestants had finished performing then the judges themselves one by one came on to perform. Yay! Here’s Stan Zamfirescu, playing one of his famous pieces which i saw on youtube. And soo cool he greeted us in BM.I’m uploading the videos now.. so go check them here at AroniL’s youtube.

Roger Wang playing A chinese folk song his aunty used to teach him when he was little and did a rendition of it on the guitar.. You should also see his “Man in the Mirror”by Michael Jackson, version on the guitar. It was a request. One thing when I was blogging prior to this post was I couldn’t find many videos on Roger Wang on youtube.. But no matter.. I shall help spread his artistic skills!!!

Don Alder. And the man himself… the guru of finger plucking finally played… I was just waiting and so was the crows to see him pick up the harp guitar… this little baby. That my dear friends is a harp guitar…I don’t exactly know what the different strings are.. but it looks mighty cool. Read more here at Harp Guitars.

The highlight of the night was when Don Alder then did a duet with Roger Wang…. dude.. the Don can sing!!! They performed “Superstitious” and I’m reallly really corry that the video sucks but at least I got the music. You’re gonna have to listen and watch it in parts cause i was running low on memory and was frantically deleting stuff form my phone and camera… It was quite a sight haha.

Really glad I had gone for it and can’t wait for next year. I hope they bring Andy Mckee next year.. he is another smashing artist.
I went to see Black Eyed Peas up in Genting Highlands!!! And all thanks to Arin!!!!! Thank you!!!! You can see more of my pictures on my picasa album. We managed to get tickets, how don’t ask, we got them and it was all worth it. Albeit a bit mad on Friday cause it was such a rush, thought we were going to miss it, nearly got sick from the drive up, had to walk in ridiculous heels when I should’ve been practical and worn sneaks…But I got to see FERGIE!!!! She’s absolutely fabulous and glamorous. So let’s talk about the concert. First of I don’t know why they held it up at Genting for such a minimal amount of people of a good few thousands. The start of it was with all the Black Eyed Peas members singing their popular song like “My Hump”. Then the best part was when they each came on to do their own solo number. Of course we had the Filipino dude, apl.de.ap singing his song “Filipino”, Will singing “I Got if from my Mama “, and then… and then!!! Fergie!!!!!!!! I flipped when I heard her song “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, “Glamorous” and “London Bridge”. She’s fab! Taboo and Will.i.am were really funny too, with each intro to a song being some sorta joke. And if you are wondering what she was wearing. Sad to say for the boys, it was nothing great and would put PCD t shame. But hey come on, I’m not there to see what she’s wearing. I’m there to see them perform and perform THEY DID! It was absolutely smashing and well worth the trip up. Thank goodness I stay close to Genting… sorta. lol Oh and Fergie can flip man!!! She did flips while singing. I really like the fact that they appreciate every member in the group, musicians, dancers and bodyguards alike. Will and Fergie each requested the audience to clap for each member. Oh oh oh and the best part which was so entirely cool was the part where Will asked the lights to be dimmed down and he asked everyone to lift up their phones. That was sooo cool. It was like a sea of lights but just with phones. To be honest, I didn’t really pay a lot of attention to Black Eyed Peas before, but I do love their music. Having said that, Nessa is so mad at me for going…. Sorrrryyyyy!! I know she would’ve love to have gone for it…This is their fourth time down in Malaysia so don’t worry, they’ll be back. But on thing that got me upset was.. all the videos i took had bad sound quality!!!!!!!! ackkk… but i managed to get some that were at least not so irritating tot he ears. You can view them on my youtube account here. Here’s roughly a list of what they sang (not in order mind you… cause I can’t really recall):
  1. Don’t Phunk With My Heart
  2. My Humps
  3. Don’t Lie
  4. Filipino
  5. I Got it from my Mama
  6. Big Girls Don’t  Cry
  7. Glamorous
  8. London Bridge
  9. Pump It
  10. Let’s get it started / retarded
  11. Where Is The Love?
