Wow lots of numbers on the title. Continuing from the previous post, So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 Malaysia, was the event I had gone to last night with a bunch of friends. I felt really bad that I didn’t manage to bring a banner for Raymond Liew, the person I’m supporting there. But there is another person I’m supporting in the Top 20 , who happens to be Samantha Yee. We used to dance together at Celestar Studio, where we had learn jazz. Fun time that was, and I haven’t seen Samantha since then! So to see her dance her heart out on stage was a really wonderful sight.

Aishah Sinclair

This season the show is hosted by Aisha Sinclair, a well recognised face on TV. The little lass was really sweet and held herself well on stage. Although it felt like her voice was a bit muffled – maybe she’s sick or something, i dunno – She held up to her part as the host of the show. I don’t want to make excuses, it was the first episode, hence cutting them some slack. ^_^

Ramli Ibrahim, Judimar Hernandez and Pat Ibrahim

The judges of the show are the same from the previous season, with Pat Ibrahim, Ramli Ibrahim and Judimar Hernandez. I don’t want to be comparing, but it’s hard not to. In all honesty when you have judges like Simon Cowell and Nigel Lythgoe sitting on the panel or even Piers Morgan. You kinda start wanting to hear some heavy, straight yet truthful constructive criticism. That was a mouthful. Thats all I’m saying. But I’m no judge, i’m just taking it from a spectators point of view, who likes to obviously talk about things and discuss. So here we are in Ruums KL, which is right opposite Shangri La Hotel in the Golden Triangle. And the contestants are

So You Think You Can Dance (Malaysia) Season 2 Top 20

Girls:Farah, Zen, Samantha, Cecilia/CC, VivianJorida, Sim, Jojo, Zef, Sarah Guys: Ray,Hanafi, Black, Hong, Raymond, Belalang, Sly, Chee Wei Billy, Fairul Btw do you know how difficult it is to get pictures of them???? I searched all over and finally found a site that could give me quality pictures of the all the contestants and even some behind the scenes shot. You can view the press conference with the images HERE.

The Top 20

Here’s your top 20 folks. The Show started at 9.30 which means since we were there early we waited for a good hour. The boys got bored and because of that, they started making their own fun by ‘making’ fun of things around them. Sheeeeesh!!

The Boys having fun by making fun

Stressed out Dancers

It’s one thing to see the dancers just performing, but seeing them live and being in utter stress and worry bout being kicked out. It really makes me feel for them. They announced the bottom four which were BIlly, Napi, Vivian and Zen.

The rest of the other dance contestants, were brought to stand where I was standing, now I know why they had that red tape at my foot. it was to give some space for th the dancers who were going to be watching their pals get eliminated.

Very worried and concern Billy

Billy and Napi. One of them are bout to be eliminated. In the end Billy was the one picked to be out for the first episode. Too bad, but Napi really did deserve to stay. Ballroom was not Napi’s forte but at the same time the dance was just not happening for the Waltz he did with his partner. Billy’s Beat it Remix with his partner, was just alright. It was not great and i don’t fault him for that, he’s a good dancer but I think the choreography was not enough to bring out his potential. It’s very sad that he had to go on the first round.

Tearing contestants to hear that they are losing one from the group

When they had announced who were the bottom four after like 20 minutes of votes, which i think is really dumb. Honestly who will vote in 20 minutes. There is not enough time and in fact I couldn’t even hear that the voting process for elimination had already started.

The boys take a moment to appreciate still being in the Top 18

After Billy had been the first to be eliminated, the other boys took a moment and had a group hug amongst themselves.

Me and Samantha

This is Samantha Yee, one of the contestants who also happened to be one of the dancers I danced with at Celestar Studio. She had probably the best bod in the class heheh and she’s still a on going strong dancer. Her dance was choreographed by Manuela Oliviera who I think is a fabulous dancer and choreographer. She has wonderful vision for the dancers and brings out the best in them.

Now so what can I say about SYTYCD Malaysia. Well first of, I’m glad that they are at least having the show here. But on another hand, the standard of dance is … quite well far apart with the ones I’ve been watching on the American version. But hey the one thing that is still a strong point that I like about the show is that it allows those who have the passion to dance, to really express themselves here on this stage.

The new season of So You Think You Can Dance, the Malaysian version, is back again on 8TV. Auditions were out like about a month or so back and tonight was the first time it was aired live on TV. After the dancers have been stationed it some forbidden area away from everyone else and the internet (The horror!!) for a good one month.

So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia

I went there to support a friend, who is in the TOP 20 of SYTYCD season 2, Raymond Liew. So we managed to get tickets to go see and cheer him, as well as the rest of the dancers on.

sytycds2_07

I was suppose to meet one of his friend Wan Yeu, to collect tickets the tickets, but we arrived a tad bit late… because of a ‘somebody’.. ahem.. We made it in time, so I forgive you! :P Min Li and Tony were already there waiting for us at the bottom of rooms. It was quite a big crowd with the 8TV crew only allowing family and friends of the dancers in first. We were called base on the name of the dancers like..”Supporters of so and so.. here please”.

Us waiting at the bottom of the Ruums

Here we are finally inside and we are directly in front of the stage. Or at least my sister and I. Min Li was standing right behind me. And woman charge your camera next time!! :P

Can You see Min Li and I taking snaps of ourselves?

Mervin, Tony, Giden, and Min Li.

Another poser shot of the group

I thought this pic was so cute hehe. My bro Lincoln, me, Nessa and Reuben.

Woop a doop.. wooop a doop

By the way if you look at the live video on 8TV. I’m somewhere way in front of the crowd with my sister and Min Li trying to cover her face. haha… ish you can see my mouth go like.. “wo wo wo wo”.. lol

I have much to say but i’ll save that for another post on So You Think Can Dance Malaysia Season 2.

I got the first sniff of the news of petrol prices going up yesterday night after Ismail Rehearsals from Joe, who got it from someone else from the Malay Mail. Lots of people thought it to be a rumour but sadly …very very sadly.. it is true and the prices of petrol did go up today. When exactly? I can only assume it as 12 midnight.

It is absolutely ridiculous, everybody was rushing to fill up their tanks before the price went up and it’s a very significant rise mind you. A whopping 78 sense!!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!! Before price was around RM1.92 per liter. Now it’s RM2.70 per liter. OH MY GOSHHH!!! We are all now poorer for it.

Because of the viralistic rumour, tons of people as i mentioned, rushed to any petrol station to fill up their tank. Even at the 11th hour, people were still rushing to fill their tanks. Well, while crossing by each station on the way home..at least 7 stations…I had to go through a jam for each of them.. sigh.

img_8944

This was just near the mamak we always go to. Look at the cars just piling in.

img_8946

The queue was pretty long and it was a lot worse earlier on, like around 6pm onwards. The roads were not just cluttered, but were in total chaos because everyone was squeezing in to get into the petrol stations.. sheesh.

img_8947

This was the second petrol station I passed, and what do you now. Still pack!

img_8951

Station no. 3, A Mobil Mart, just look at the long queue on the left lane.

img_8955

This went on all the way to Station 4 which was just next to Mobil. A Shell station. Finally i got fed up fo taking pictures and concentrated more on driving safely :P

img_8960

The last station, Caltex, was the one near my area. I had a good view of all the cars going in. I was hoping that the price would still be at RM1.92 perliter.

img_8967

And that is only reason why it looks like i’m also being dumb to queue up, when my tank is only down by a quarter tank. I had already pumped a full tank yesterday.

RM2.70 per liter

Thats when I saw the price. CRAP! It had already gone up and this was at 12 plus in the morning. SIgh I missed the mark. Great now my petrol bill, which was around RM68 for a full tank is going to be nearly RM90.. oh my GOSH!!!! Like what the heck???? Sigh I’m going to be so broke… Carpool anyone?

I had mentioned to a few friends of mine that I was on , this new top secret mission project initiated by the blog ad service Nuffnang.

Project Trafford

And just so happened that they are bloggers to on Nuffnang – yeah yeah they are Min Li and Nick Dorian. They kept bugging me to tell them what was Project Trafford all about. But I insisted that they wait until I’ve gotten details from my head in command and written about it. Unnfortunately they got me playing 20 questions where i told them I was only allowed to answer yes or no. But before I get into that, let me first introduce the incredible masterminds of my team. Our head Kahuna and miss travelling mastermind herself Nicole Tan from nicolekiss.blogspot.com .

Check out her column here on TheStar

these are her minions/lieutenants. ^_P

Simon Says

Heh so we are the team reporting to duty. Now what is Project Trafford all about? Remember I did ask if you could guess what it could possibly be related to? Let’s see what are the possible thought processes?

manu

manu3

Footballers, referees and a mad crowd.

manu2

We’ve gotten wind that a very generous company is giving away 30 exclusives tickets to the Stadium and Museum of the Red Devils which is worth RM15000. Can you take a guess which company that is?

mister-potato-ronaldo

Man United fans.. go on shout for joy. I know you want to ^_P.
I am in utter love love love with David Cook. He is all that an American Idol should be.

David Cook Wins

Anyways I’m now talking about David Cook, because I went hunting for his songs. He is an amazing singer and the one song that suddenly made me stop and have chills was from not a pop song, or a rock song, or an emo ballad. No… it was a broadway number. If you recall, he sang “Music of The Night” by Andrew Lloyd Webber written for the Phantom of The Opera. I’ve heard many renditions of it and suffice to say Phantom is my all time favourite musical. So to hear David Cook sing it was just whoaaaa..

He is a rocker that can give me goosebumps. I was nearly ready to accept the fact he wasn’t going to win when it was the episode between just him and David Archuleta. David Archuleta had given a smashing performance and David Cook’s was just so so. Plus with that face of an angel David A. was sure to get tons of votes from young girly kids…lol.

David Archuleta and David Cook

So imagine my glee when i heard the news from Royalshortness that David Cook won. Yeah i got the news from my friends blog.. got a problem with that? By the way check out this ridiculous ad of the two Davids with Guitar Heroes hahahhaha. To be very honest I was routing for Carrie Underwood the most, out of all the American Idols, mostly because not only do i think she has heaps amount of talent, looks and personality. But because she’s a Christian (I’m not being biased, but it’s because I really think that there needs to be more of us Christians out there to penetrate areas that have been well deemed as the dark side.
