 What is blogging?

I’ll make it clean and simple, by just saying that it is an activity that allows you to jot down your thoughts and life experiences.  It’s an online platform where you get to exercise freedom of speech ranging from good, sophisticated speech to the downright rude crude words. I did say it was freedom of speech. ^_^

I’ve been in the blogging sphere for a while now and i’ve had the wonderful honour of meeting quite inga lot of people due to blogging. So when i first told that i would be interviewing peers in the blogging world on my show on RedFM, i was really ecstatic.

and this is the first time i’m going to be attending a blog award! A red carpet blog event.. fuyoh!!

And now i’m giving away some party passes to the After Party at Zouk KL! Do you want to go for the party and get hooked up with a pretty blogger :P  kidding.

Then tune into me all this week on red.fm 104.9 in the Klang Valley. Am giving away the party passes at the 2PM hour!

Two years ago, the best of the best in the blogosphere were celebrated with the inaugural Asia-Pacific Blog Awards, and now, Nuffnang is honoured to be bringing the regional awards ceremony back, this time to Malaysian shores!

Come 16 December 2011, 500 bloggers and guests from all over the Asia-Pacific region will once again take to the red carpet, and be treated to a night of fine dining and brilliant entertainment in Kuala Lumpur, the bustling metropolitan capital of Malaysia. Aside from being honoured for their hard work and contribution to the blogosphere, they will also get the opportunity to tour the city and experience the unique Malaysian culture for themselves.

All of this week i had the chance to meet these amazing bloggers and interview them during my show at the 2pm hour on RedFM

Let me intro you to them

Awww he was so nervous at first and he is the only blogger with two nominations.. again!! Yes he was in the first blogger awards and he’s back again! Here’s hoping you get at least one of the titles this year man! And did you know that he studied and lived in Korea for 7 years.. his Korean is fluent and I had the pleasure of being thought a few conversational words from him. Stay tune for the video hehhee. And you did great for the interview man!
hope to see you at the blogging red carpet!

On Sunday I meet up with Tech Idiots to guest on their show. I’ve always been keen to go on some tech show, and portray how geeky i am :P And well.. i’ll just say i was surprised lol. With two funny guys, who love their tech and just want to share their knowledge in the most laymen of ways to others. Tech Idiots is produced by Kelvin Lim (PR dude from Fleishman-Hillard) and Wern Shen (editor of Lowyat.net).

So far Tech Idiots:Uncensored have only made 6 episodes – me being in the 6th ep. They are working boys so forgive them if they can’t make a video everyday. I was there i saw the tedious process just to make the short 13 minutes ok.

Needless to say it was very impromptu but i had loads of fun doing the show with them. Even more so when Wern Shen allowed me to play with the PS3 Need For Speed: Shift… I suck at it :( but hey i tried.

Watch what went down that day.

Tune in soon to see my interview with the guys who started out Tech Idiots: Uncensored. In the mean time be sure to head on to facebook and watch their episodes every two weeks on Monday :)

It’s been a while since I blogged about my own thoughts for a while. I have come to a realisation, that while I can be indecisive at times, i enjoy doing and being a part of many things. I’m seriously a jack of all trades and master of none. Not something to proud of and barely anything that one can call achievable. I dabble here and there in different things but I concentrate a lot on my time as a performer. However I’ve always preferred if i was good at just one thing love it and that’s it.  Rambling on. I’ll focus on the purpose of this post.  See I’ve got a number of blogs now. But there are two in particular that I’m concentrating on a lot now. One being of course aronil.com and another my latest one linoralow.com. I’ve spent a fair amount of time with blogging communities (not a lot to the point i’m online all day but close enough) and even on a face to face value not just virtually. Some of the bloggers then beceom good friends of mine. However i barely get to do just that much as I’m always busy now… yeah time for yourself gets a lot different.  At one point I thought i got the whole business of what and why i blog down pat. There are number of reasons why I would blog, but what is the core purpose of my blog? Will it be a benefit to myself? Especially when there are tons of marketing and making money ways on the net. Or will it be a benefit for the people who read my blog. I don’t believe that you can have the best of both worlds when you blog. Blogging takes time and you need to garner just about the right amount of attention to your blog to even consider it succesful. What i mean by successful is when you have 100s if not 1000s of unique visitors on a daily basis. It is when people will just naturally go to your blog to read up because they wanna know whats happening or if they are busybody they wanna know whats going on with you. You will have a number of comments but good quality ones where you can discuss something with others.  Yeah all that… At one point i figured I would keep it at that, I’ll just blog about everything on me, on what I see on a daily basis. Then you start to realise that’s not possible either. Because as a blogger, (to be seriously cheesy) – ‘with some sort of power, comes great responsibility’. I’m not kidding because when you blog, your privacy and your personality is on a big  open platform for the world to decipher and see. Sure not everyone would bother much about your blog – doens’t matter if they can find it or not. But what you say on your blog even if it is just your personal diary…. it matters. Huh.. have you noticed there is an irony in that? A blog as a personal diary – how can it be personal when it’s open for the world to see. It is like putting down your thoughts on black and white which people can find and quote / paraphrase /cite you from. I can’t exactly write about all i experience in life, because it will affect others around me. For example i may mention that not all my loved ones enjoy being written about for others to read. I’ve gotten into a number of arguments with specifically one of them. Can’t blame them either.  I guess my point, is what is the purpose of me having anything online? Which is probably why, one will see less of the posts where I blab on about silly things. I mean seriously SILLY things, and I’m going to focus more on the things that I enjoy and would like to share. I’e no longer considered much about my stats. I used to be all panicky if my stats for my site, dropped.. now.. well what can i say. Different intentions.. different feelings and cares.  To me the point of blogging, is about sharing. But sharing what? I’ve now come to a point where I should consider what I share… Aronil.com is still about the things that make me smile. It will just now concentrate more the artistic side of things. Like graphic designing, websites, drawings, paintings, the tools of web 2.0.. stuff like that. While Linoralow.com will be my performing arts blog and will cater more on movies, entertainment and events. It’s just easier to categorise things and while it’s fine to shove everything on one blog, but i just dislike when it loses it’s focus. So with those two blogs – hopefully figured out.. that’s my writing purpose.
It really was a wild night lol. I had gotten in late for the party yesterday at Modestos because I had a the Menipulate movie shoot. Quite a bit of the mad rush, finally made it at Modestos at Desa Sri Hartamas around 8.40pm. My gosh that was late. The party had started without ME at 6.30pm :( …. sniff….At least I made it. I couldn’t write a LIVE post at the party, so I’m doing my “LIVE” post now. A special thanks to Maxis for giving us free Broadband for the night so that we could some live posting. With the limited edition of the USB broadband plug and play and they look adorable, i personally love the key chain that came as a freebie:)

Maxis Limited Edition USB Modem

so cute right! Don’t know how powerful it will be but it will be useful for those of us on the go. Check it out here.I personally like the butterfly one :)

The party was mad! You could see all sorta of animals there, I saw a number of butterflies surprisingly and a lot of cats. Including a number of bunnies that was hopping all over the place.. hey some of those bunnies were hot! Yes Frankie this includes you too :P We had a peacock and an ostrich in the crowd too. Along with two lady bugs. I think i was the only dragonfly there… but then again i’m an insect.. :P and could’ve been easily mistaken for a butterfly.

wild-small_01

Me at the party. I love the wings :) and can you blame me? After all that hard work of !!

wild-small_02

Upon arrival, there was a big insistence on my part to take pictures with my other wing maker in crime Min Li, who had gone as a ladybug. Aren’t we just cute!! But the bad thing about my wings.. they were so wide, I had quite a time trying to figure out how to walk. And no i couldn’t go through doors properly. I ended walking sideways… :S

wild-small_03

First thing that I walked into was one of the small games played by the ever happening host Liang. Lol.. I didn’t know he was standing in front of me, till he turned around and screamed.. “Youuuuuuu” and then I also screamed “Youuuuuuuu”. Hahahaha it was pretty funny, I haven’t seen this boy since the . SO it was real nice to catch up… even thought it was rather brief.. next time man next time. And may I also mention dude you are looking fiiiiinnnnneee!! :) See the gymming sessions pays off.

wild-small_04

Liang had used Kenny Sia as his guinea pig for a game. Where you will have the lovely Nuffies standing behind him, take out pieces of paper which will state what you are suppose to act as. In this case, Kenny is acting like a cat who is sad because he has just gotten married… or something like that and his bride to be is Liang.. hahahha… awwww kissy kissy wissy :P

wild-small_05

I don’t know who this tiger uncle here was but he didn’t look like a typical blogger. In fact I think he was the oldest in the entire blog community that night. And he kept rushing in to take part in the games, shouting that he’s a so and so animal. Nothing wrong with that.. just it didn’t appeal to me, or rather i found it a bit.. ummm disturbing?

wild-small_06

Pink Pau aka Su Ann had to be a snake with Ohkulala aka Kul. Kul had shown up again in a fabulous dress, a peacock dress to be exact. I would’ve loved to see the skirt flare up though when she held it up with both hands but it was just a long flowing gown. All the same it was gorgeous! Dare I take a poke at who designed it..hmmmmmm :P Pink Pau went as the lady bug though she had made a few ammendments to her costume which she had shown on her blog.

wild-small_07

The only unicorn in the house. Why didn’t i think of that? lol.

wild-small_08

An octopus who was soon accompanied by another octopus.

wild-small_09

The only ostrich in the house, Miss Suet Li, which i must say wore such a cute dress.

wild-small_10

Here we have the nominees for best dressed costume. Honestly I don’t think it was fair that the guy in the cow costume got picked because well… you can just go ahead and buy the cow costume or rent it for that matter from anywhere. While there were others… ahem… who made their own costume. For example Jolyn who is the lioness right smack in the middle got her own and she is in full cat costume. She deserves to win! That said though, congratulations to both winners :) They won the XPS base on votes and the people have spoken.

wild-small_12

Simon Seow and I. He went as a horse and at least he’s being friendly to his wallet by reusing the board from

wild-small_13

I finally got to meet Ping Ping in person :) Nice meeting you my dear.

wild-small_14

And of course i needed a shot with the Pooh Bear Kenny Sia

wild-small_15

Me, Pooh Bear and Min Li

wild-small_16

I’m really sorry but I can’t recall this girls name. Can someone please tell me so i can put her link in.

wild-small_17

There was some animal rolling about on the floor. Please don’t ask, cause I also don’t want to know!!

wild-small_18

The four muskatees :) Nick Dorian, Me, Min Li and Tony (see i linked you!!!!!) Although i still think you boys should’ve been in costume.

Curryegg and I. I honestly like this pic and it’s rare that I will like one without photoshoping it a bit. SO brilliant shot :) and Kelly you look so cute in the butterfly outfit. I didn’t get to really talk with her.. dang… and the only time we met was towards the end of the entire event.. sigh.. She had probably the longest antennas in the house lol.

wild-small_20

Of course after the whole event I had to leave me mark somewhere to state my territory. Smacked right on to the nose of the Hotlink Music Roadster.. hehe :) That’s all the pics for now.. hopefully there will be more soon!
After the whole.. I don’t know what to wear – , followed by curling my head with hopeless curlers for over an hour, only to find out that my hair was still straight, and my feet hurting from stilettos… The night at JW Marriot was still a BLAST! The whole “Made of Honour”, starring Patrick Dempsey, event brought to us bloggers by Nuffnang,(Read Here for Nuffnang Post) was a lot of fun. Let’s take a walk down memory ‘aisle’ and revisit the events of the night before. ^_^ Prepare thyself. This is another heavy picture post ^_P http://picasaweb.google.com/Aronil/MadeOfHonour2008 I can’t tell you how tiring this post was hahahah. and I’m still waiting for me DGMB group pic!!! Where is it!!! All the ones i have are either blur or someone moved!!! The night was a blast and I have only Nuffnang to thank for.. Dudes you RAWK!!!!! As always ^_^.. and of course Nick Dorian too hehhehe for bringing me along. Till the next event which is… next week… my gosh haha. By the way.. the DGMB-ians are featured on the Nuffnang blog woots! lookie lookie.. i got the group pic  ^_^
