You know in school, when you were in kindergarten everybody was friends. Wasn’t that nice? People didn’t care what family you were from, how you behaved, or whatever. Kids just wanted to be friends and play with one another.

Then you hit Primary school and oh my, things change, you find that friends start to disperse and they suddenly huddle to one group. They want to either be called the happening / popular / exciting group or there will be the shunned ones / outcasts / the freaks. Of course you’ll have those right down smack in the middle who really can’t be bothered at all and they shall be called the neutrals neither overly popular nor unwanted in groups.

The curse of Cliques.

btw this is take from the STCharles Journal

Not to be mistaken with Cliniques ^_P

You know it really doesn’t matter what age or generation you are in. Cliques always seem to exist. You’d think that once you are out of school the whole ridiculous thing of group cliques would end and you can go back to being like how it was in kindergarten, where everyone is on the same plane, they are all just trying to get by and having some fun time. But no!

Instead you find yourself with more cliques all over the place. Some cliques that will tend to talk to much, the cliques that you find are just not your cup of tea, the cliques that are too ladeeda in the clouds for you, the cliques that are overly intelligent, the cliques that just plain well weird, the cliques that are maybe fun to be with, the cliques that make sense and the cliques that are finally just like you. :aya:

So many cliques, and so hard to fit yourself in all. But really I find cliques so dumb and childish. Whats wrong with everyone just getting along, and being friendly. Sure you don’t have to gel, talk and give everyone your attention cause that won’t be feasibly possible. But suddenly changing your whole personality when you are out of your clique… Oouuuooch. Yeah I’m anti-conflict and anti-clique. I don’t care what group one considers themselves in.

Keep It Simple and Sweet.

Keep It Simple and Short.

Keep It Simple Stupid!

Those are the main three things of how you would give the full version for K.I.S.S. Keeping things simple is always a great idea. I often make the mistake of sometimes doing things over the top, over exaggerating something, or just even in my design. I would want to shove so many things into something that I forget what my main purpose of designing something is even for.

Or even maybe when it comes to talking, one can ramble on and on about something. When what they should be doing is just keeping it nice and short. Straight to the point and not go over flamboyant.

The simplest things are the best things. Even when giving a gift, a small thing like a flower from the ground (preferably a live one of course and not one thats left on the road! ) or even a card or an sms to say something nice to another person, perks somebody up or tells them you care.

So yes.. K.I.S.S people!

I have a story.

I have this friend of mine in school, whom I shall name as Yowanda (don’t ask me why I picked this name but I did, because every other name that came to my head was too close to a real person). This was years ago, and what happened was she got into a relationship with a guy, Jerry. They were doing very well and were still together even after she had gone on down to Australia to study, right after school. He was in Australis with her for a while then he came back to Malaysia because of work commitments.

After some time being in Australia, Yowanda, started to feel a bit lonely. I don’t exactly know what transpired during the period they were apart, but she started to sway a little. There was a guy in her class… a senior i think, we’ll call him Matt. Matt was apparently there for her a lot when she was feeling down and lonely in a foreign country. She had study periods with him and even allowed herself to get close to him. Later in the year, she came home, but she still acted like everything was cool with her and Jerry, even though she confessed to us, she has a mind to break it off because of this new guy.

Basically she started developing a crush on this new guy, since she was away from Jerry.

Her reasoning was, I was just very lonely, I needed someone, he was there for me. I had someone to talk to, to keep me company. He understood me.

See this is something I shall never get. When you are with somebody, a real relationship that has gone on for a good year or more, why do some people think that it’s only meant to be a fling? That it’s not meant to be anything serious? When you are in a relationship, sure they will be tough times and some lonely moments where both side may no get the other, but don’t you still love one another?

I don’t get it. The best part is when others asked Yowanda, why does she still stick with Jerry, she also says that she loves him. What?????? You can actually utter out by saying, “I love Him, therefore I’m sticking with him”, when all the while you are breaking another persons heart? Why not then end the misery and go find yourself with the other guy. Don’t go hanging on to both as if there’s backup. There is no backup in relationships!!

How some people could ever say to their partner “I Love You” then turn around and do the exact opposite, by starting to crush on another person. For males and females alike, when you are in a relationship, don’t you ever dare say those three words “I Love You” if you are willing to cheat on your partner. I don’t believe it’s in the spur of the moment, I don’t believe that the “I Love You’s” can be turned on and off. It’s an ongoing process and that’s what makes a relationship with another so special.

Say your “I love You” properly. Don’t force it. Don’t cheat it.

Money is the root of all evil.

Or so I heard.

And for the most of it, I think it’s true!

Why do I say that? What makes a man fight for his life to survive? What drives a man to want to bother getting up everyday? What is the biggest cause for fights may they be economical, political or social situations? What makes a person tick for the rest of their entire life? What causes the whole world to be in utter chaos, when shares go tumbling down?

Money should just be burnt, so that we won’t be troubled by it. :S

I am a bit tired, how all people are ever trying to do in their life is for the sake of money. Granted I shall admit that I have been born with a bronze spoon in my mouth. But what have you been trained in school to do ultimately? The nice version of this is by saying “Oh it’s so you can become a useful person to society”.

What they actually mean is “To teach how you to one day become a person that can make money.. doesn’t matter how, you’re just suppose to make money so you can carry on living.” Everything is for the sake of making money and why so? Because without money, you can’t darn well survive.

Take for example how we blog. When was the last time we blog for the sole purpose that is the freedom of speech. That it is the place where we aren’t easily touched and we the individual can have a sport where we can express thoughts in an open manner. When was the last time, bloggers stood by with one another for the sake of doing some sort of good out there? Yeah ok there is the whole BloggersUnite thing. That’s great….

But of late all I have been seeing are blogs that are just trying to leverage to make sure that they have enough traffic so that the likelihood of ads being click is higher. Asking some of you out there, who are staying in the same country as me…how many times have you asked our Nuffnang, Advertlets, GrabmyAds and whatever other advertising medium out there “Hey where are my ads? Can ya bring more in?”.

If the ads come in, they come in. It is no secret the whole point why we all joined Ad Services is because we wanted to make some extra cash.

I’m digressing on the fact, that people do stuff for the sake of money these days. The sucky reality is that you can’t do anything when you don’t have money. People I find sometimes are a slave to money, because it is either they do not have enough to sustain them or they always want more of it.

Ooo money makes the world go round. Sigh everything is a business, you can’t run from it. Nothing is ever really for the sake of doing it because it can possibly be fun. I feel like such a prude saying all this.

Next thing you know a few posts from now I’m going to sound hypocritical-if I end up talking about how to drive more traffic into a site or how one can earn more money with their blog or whatever. And why would I write something like that in contrast to this post?

Because I have to sink to the thing people double my age love to call “Reality” and think of ways how to make a living so that I can sustain me sitting up right on a chair and not faint from lack of food…

Me: Hey money!

Money: Hey you! Did you know that you can see more of me if….

Me: Bite ME!

had this conversation a while back with my boy and this is was his dilemma…“I don’t understand girls! They don’t mean what they say! Make some sense, why must they say one thing and then mean an entirely different thing. Like us guys, we just go straight to the point, if we say we don’t want it that way, we don’t want it! It ain’t rocket science.”

As I type this I can’t help but also laugh. For some girls, the ones with pride that is, they shall say, well why are the guys so ‘COMPLICATED’ why can’t you just try to get us and not be so straight forward.

……

I know i know.. it sounds liek the girls can’t make up their mind. So i’ll break it down as much as I can… and I’m not going to say it related to most girls, but lets see how far some are true.

Phrase 1 : GO AWAY!
When a girl tells you to go away, there are two meanings so you have to be smart to figure out which one it is. The first one means, to FIX IT! fix whatever it is you have just done wrong. Say you said something that is not pleasing to her ears, and she tells you to GO AWAY. Fix it, say something that she would prefer to hear you say.

E.g. She: Sweetie what do you want to do later on today?
He: Wow… that chikado is hot!
She: ………
He: Dont’ you think so?
She: GO AWAY!
He: “??” Why what did I say??

Hellooo!! What do you think you said? How to fix it? Ignore what you have just said and ask her to repeat her question or statement and actually concentrate on answering the blasted question!

The second thing it could mean. “GO AWAY!” Literally means GO AWAY!

Phrase 2 : What Do You Think?
When a girl asks for your opinion please please say something either positive or give her a really good explanation. I’ll be frank, my species tends to act a lot on our emotional side half the time. Which is why, if you want to avoid some sort of argument. Please, practice your skills in debating and learn how to give a good rebuttle. Cause us girls, will give all sorts of excuses how you are no uinderstanding, uncaring.. and all the other “uns” out there, if you say something negative.

We’re fragile creatures, so hearing a nice thing would always be a plus.

E.g. She: Sweetie…do you think it’s better to have the white or blue?
He: How bout neither? Both of them are not very nice
She: Really??? But I already got them…
He: Well who asked you to buy them?
She: ……..I thought that I could look sweet, like how you want me to be…

Sigh the poor dear, have a heart dear boys and if you want your girls to look like either some super sweet girl next door or some hot looking thing like Megan Fox… which is another argument of mine altogether. Please motivate her a bit. Here’s the thing with girls, they like to dress up, no denying that, they like to look good because media and darn boyfriends tell them that they want their girls to be looking good. So……. take a guess what prescription I shall write down. BE NICE! You know what to do…. if you can’t even after that explanation and that example….. sigh I have no hope for mankind.

I just finished reading an article on what 4 different ladies have to say about the thinness obsession that is evident in this day an age. After having gone through the interview, I noticed that some of their answers contradicted with either their profession or with their perception on beauty. Like one of them happened to be a beauty therapists.. i’m sorry but while, they just put oil and massage your skin at the spa, i’d like to think my beauty therapist knows a thing or two about being beautiful. This therapist however felt insecure about her body shape…. in fact all 4 women were.

You know what really sucks thought about this skinny mentality. Is how much the media or more so man, has psychoed us into thinking that in order to be happy you have to be skinny. What the heck! If you are born skinny – high metabolic rate – that’s fine, but to want to make yourself ultra skinny like so…

Also another thing, in campaigns such as the Dove evolution, the Campaign For Real Beauty. While it was brilliant, and it showed of real women as beautiful, whereby they do not need to have perfect breats, perfect uplifted bum and non-orange peely skin. The truth of the matter, is that it won’t sell. Maybe it will get people thinking, but seeing a person that’s quite large or very large in their under garments is not exactly everyone’s cup of tea. You guys out there, boys and girls, what do you think when you see an ad with a large person in it? Point is that the case of “real beauty” is still a misconception. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not PHOTOSHOP!

Also how many of the girls out there these days are real? Meaning what girl out there – that have the money and are in Hollywood anyway – has actually not gone for some beautifying treatment? Be it some slimming salon, popping a slimming pill or even going under the knife? What are people like Nicole Richie and Victore Becks doing… starving themselves to death? Victoria had three children, and she’s looking no where like the glow she should be having after pregnancy…

Why can’t the media be actually encouraging a healthier lifestyle rather than doing all the things that shock your system and most likely will not be healthy for ones body, let alone even maintain that good looking ’slimness’. Already bad enough that most women out there, are unhappy with at least one feature about themselves…

And males… oh you males out there who admire the gorgeous and skinny and voluptuous.. do you actually think you make the females who already insecure about themselves since an age as early as 8 years old, any better, when you tell them that you want them to look like so and so from this magazine… my gowssh!

So QUIT IT!

I shall admit that I had gone to a slimming salon once, called Unisense. To be honest, while I did lose weight, the weight did not seem to stay off forever. Most of what I found the salon doing was making sure I was on a strict diet of purely proteins – no carbs, no fruits after 8, no milk…. a lot of no’s…It sucked! Plus they said I was not allowed to do any exercise, because it would affect the process of breaking fat molecules. I can bet with you those ladies who wet for those slimming salons won’t even be able to last in a 5 minute run.

Sure it maybe a fast way of losing, weight but I still believe that good ol’ exercising and a healthy diet will pull through with more long term benefits. The Thin Obsession, was an issue in slightly earlier years and still an issue in our day and age today. Culture and ideology has made as such as we have been brought up to think the thin = beautiful. Disagree with if you’d like.

I decided to blog about this because I think it’s a concern that has always been there and it is an issue that is just going to repeat itself. Just today, a good friend of mine got scammed by somebody, whom he calls his friend. See this friend of mine is about 13 years old, and he is just starting to fine his wings in mixing with other people. He usually prefers staying at home to play games, but of late he has taken on a keen interest in shuffling.Today my young friend had hope to collect something from this other friend of his at 4pm. Unfortunately for my poor friend, the fella who promised to turn up at 4pm, had made him wait the whole day at the mall. Brilliant way to spend your Christmas huh. Hanging out at the mall waiting to pick up some item, which I do not think is even worth waiting for let alone even buying!

Now here’s the thing, I’ve had a worry for sometime because of the unfortunate misconceptions that people have regarding people who dance the shuffle. I am not a fan of the Melbourne Shuffle, I can say out flat. i don’t think it is a fantastic dance neither do I think it shows off much skill as a dancer, I’m a traditional prude dancer. And also just listening to the music of shuffling, it is that of acid/house music.

Besides shuffling came from the Melbourne underground, which is related with clubbing,
which is related with acid and house music,

which can be related with drugs,

which can be related with bad company…… emphasis can be! I’m not saying is.
I am not going to say these shuffle dancers all have the same attitude and behave the same way, but from what I have seen around in certain areas, they are not exactly the best kind of people that I would want a young teenager mixing with. Anyways, my friend is a real sweet boy but he can be bit blurishly naive, or more so he does not know what is out there in the ‘real world’ – or what i will call the realm outside of your home.

Teenagers – they are the generation that is trying to find their identity. Now the beauty of media, movies and tv, teens have been brought up with the two superficial cliques that are prominent throughout the year. The popular group and the unpopular group.

The popular group, you know the typical people who are ‘IN’. The group that is somehow either known by all, some may be rich, some my have some skill that people think is cool, or they have materials that are super bogus. The unpopular group, consists of the people that are either not known, they aren’t well off, they are just well normal. They don’t have some super personality that creates some chemistry in the air.

My point here is that, teens are so susceptible to being pressurd by their peers, or the want to be “cool”. This is absolutely nothing new. And it is only those kids who are street smart or have no interest whatsoever with the superficial that will seem to turn out alright. Alright as in they won’t resort to drugs, booze and ridiculous stuff that they hope will make them look cool.

I hope parents teach their kids to know how to mix with the right group. Never mind that maybe the thing he is interested in attracts the bad crowd, but the teenager must know who are his real friends and not. Some may rip the teens off from their money, so may bully them into doing what the seniors want.. simply because they are young and inexperience of things around them.

It’s crucial, the people whom they choose to mix with, will shape what they will become in the near future…so they need to how to first be aware of these crazy pack of wolves disguised as sheep and choose to pull away from them is need be.

This is just a thought… I’m just trying to understand this as what I saw today, was pretty much a lecture that my parents would’ve given me years ago. On being careful and all.

Soooo coool!! Not too long ago, my CEO had asked me to write an article for our local paper TheSun. I was really just cracking around as to what I could write and at the same time, I was also quite annoyed with how everyone says they want to do something viral, they want to use the net for their marketing gimmicks and what not. While that is all great. What I couldn’t stand was how easy they thought it maybe. So I ended up writing on article on what to consider before dishing out something viral.

Check it out.

Mine is the bottom article… hey it may be bottom but it’s still in the paper.

Hope it was ok.. lol

What is it about? Basically you key in some data entry stuff and you are paid something like $25 per hour. Yes in USD.

That said though… I don’t know how much this can actually be trusted. It’s almost too tempting and too simplistically easy for you to make money. There are a lot of scam programs out there. I mean thinking about it why do i have to pay in order to make money?

So for those who wanna give it a go… I’d advise against it. I also tried scouting out a bit on forums.. and only managed to find this thread. Where someone actually said it is a scam.

I am not one to get political and I don’t really intend to. But what I have been reading in the papers of late is quite appalling and even embarrassing! What am I talking about? First there was the Bersih Protest that went on the 10th of Nov. I wasn’t around that weekend to see the Yellow Walk. But heard that some people I knew were there. I was also concerned that they might have been arrested or something, Thank God though nothing like that happened. The walk was huge and reminds me of something like this that happened in Singapore which was documented as an Independent Film. The Bersih Protest was to demand electoral reformation.

“Bersih is calling on the head of state to ensure that national elections, expected early next year, are fair. It is demanding the removal of phantom voters from electoral rolls, the use of indelible ink to prevent illegal and multiple voting, the abolition of postal voting which is abused by the ruling parties and equal access to the state-owned media for all political parties.” - World Socialist

Coming from Kenny’s blog, he had put up a post of Malaysian Information Ministers having an interview with an Al-Jazeera reporter. The whole interview was a real joke, first with the minister stating that the protest was allowed by the police without violence, we ‘are’ a democratic country, then suddenly the protest is illegal…. btw his Ingrreiisshh is terrible!!!! You can see the interview with a transcript there.

And then just not too long ago, we had the Broom Award incident. My gowssh!! Even for a joke it is bad.. and by a minister at that? What are you people thinking..? Then from broom it became a sacking threat to the employees and then finally the dude said the broom award shall remain. This is to really tell them to buck up… and what was this for? Because they miscalculated or didn’t collect some financial taxes… What the heck????

I shall hang this broom proudly on my wall… and cherish it forever!!

Yes… I’m really “proud of all this”!
