I want to share a little creature that made me smile on a daily basis. He’s all fluffy white, has the stupidest looking adorable face with an underbite for a jaw. Has extremely soft paws which you would never imagine looking at how “fat” he can look at times. He makes a terrible amount of noise but despite all his yapping he is a darn cute thing.

That little adorable white fluffy creature is … or rather was my pet Rex. A Shih Tzu that didn’t really look like a shih tzu. I still think he could possibly be a mix breed. All the same I love that dog. I saw was because here’s my story.

About couple of a weeks ago, as i returned back to my house. A vehicle had driven up to my front door. Seven people came out from the vehicle… seven! They then started to put on these vests stating that they were from the MPAJ – Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya. One of the ladies stated that someone in the neighbourhood had filed an anonymous complaint that our house was making too much noise. Due to the dogs we have. They then started to issue a warning letter to us saying that we have to get rid of one of our dogs if not we would be fined RM1000. Then one of the males decided to have the audacity to step into my compound and take pictures of my dogs.. that decided to make an appearance due to all the strangers in front of our house.

Naturally my dogs started to bark, because of strangers. And these MPAJ people had the stupidity to even say something like “Oooh sangat bising la.” Harlloooooo. You are not known to them, obviously they would bark. My pets are doing their job to alert us.

I’m still very very upset about this. I personally have a big big issue with whoever that neighbour is. If i knew who it was, i would like to discuss on the matter. Sadly i don’t think i’ll ever know. Even if i went about knocking at the doors, these people won’t fess up.

Personally I wanted to tell the MPAJ people to shove it.. because no way was i going to give up my dogs. Unfortunately my parents thought otherwise.. and decided not to fight for our beloved pet. So now all i can say is… farewell to our pet Rex.

He’s been such a joy. With his silly antics and cutesy wootsy face. I didn’t get to say goodbye to him, the day we found someone else to take care of him. Sure they maybe nearby but my parents decided not to let me visit Rex. Giving the silly excuse that oh they will be emotional ties and Rex may runaway from his new owners… I don’t believe that…

I miss him terribly.
I miss how he would go about following our maid where ever she went.
I miss how he would roll about at your feet when you blow at him. He behaved like such a cat.
I miss how he would rub his face when you blew at him.
I miss his begging at the table.
I miss all together.

The house is definitely quieter now…but it feels like something is missing… Rex I miss you and you’ll always be part of this family.

I’m a dog lover, I seriously am. I want to say I’m an animal lover but I dogs are an absolute favourite of mine. Last Sunday was the Malaysian Dog Day 2009, held at the Chin Woo Stadium which is located right smack in front of the Wesley Methodist Church along Jalan Hang Jebat.

We ended up going to the wrong stadium at first, cause it was quite easily mistaken for Staidum Merdeka. It didn’t help that we saw dog owners parking there and walking out from the wrong Jstadium. Parking was not the most wonderful thing. ust outside the stadium the narrow road was virtually jam pack with cars. Very helpful though that we could park in the church right next to it :)

It was a joy to see dog lovers of every kind. The first few dogs i saw were a bunch of Golden Retrievers outside the entrance of the stadium. Outside there were a bunch of tents selling doggy goodies. puppyday_05 Two gorgeous Retrievers.

A bulldog and.. possibly a mixed boxer..?

puppyday_07

One Shih Tzu and a mini Pincher. The Mini Pincher’s legs seriously reminded me of chicken feet. So scrawny and gangly. lol

The SPCA trying to help stray dogs get adopted.

Say Scooby Doooby Doooooooo. A Great Dane! :)

I think this is another breed of Shih Tzus. I‘ll never understand why people love putting pink ribbons on their dogs head. haha.

puppyday_61  Mister G tagged along with me to the event. We are both dog lovers :)

Inside the Chin Woo Stadium, competitions such as the Dog Fashion Show and Dog Obedience test were taking place. The fashion show really had some adorable dogs and you can see how some of the owners are so gung ho about dressing up their dogs.  Like this one below!

A Golden Retriever turned into a clown. Poor dog haha. But it was definitely a popular winner. Everyone wanted to take a picture with it.

And moving on to even more dogs at the event….

This was just too cute to pass up. A Mnachester United dog fan hehe. Take a guess which is the head!

This dog is abso-tive-aly gorgeous. Her name is Fergie and she is a mini collie. Or also known as a Shelties. She is like a little toy dog!

This SIberian Husky looks like a wolf and a really smart dog too. I can’t say much of the owner though.. or rather the  lady owner. They were playing a game called Simon Says where you basically follow the instructions of the commander and then just do what he says. Say the commander says sit. Then both the owner and the dog have to sit, unless told otherwise like ‘Give the dog a kiss on the head’’. The owner didn’t really know how to play :P

This was a very shaved shih tzu hehe. Look at its face haha. It’s so saddeningly cute. I know i’m creating all sorts of words that don’t even exist here. haha.

I personally enjoyed it when they had the obedience test. Check out the video. :)

Overall it was fun but I think the event could’ve been more interesting. What made it worth my while was just checking out the dogs :) and of course the company i had gone to see it with. It’s always more fun when you have another dog lover to watch stuff like this. Watch out for my next post on the Pet World Malaysia Event!

Remember my dog Duchess?Yeah tonight I managed to get some videos of her doing some tricks. She is just sooooo smart!!! and sooo cuteee!!!!! So far she knows how to Sit, Lay, Head Down, Roll over, play dead and ummm Cannot – I don’t know why my sister taught her that command but oh well….. She’s sooo cute… Cannot and Get are the commands for her when we don’t want her to eat a treat yet. We tell her to Cannot and she’ll stare at the food.. she won’t touch it till we say.. GET! She can do shake and high five too but sh still gets confused between one paw and two paws lol. Just look at her head when we tell her to wait. Another video of her. I love that dog!!! Good job Nessa.
Giden’s family got their dog :) and I’m so excited for them. Seems that one of their good friends has always had a soft spot for Giden’s youngest brother, Reuben. So he gave them a dog that he wanted to keep himself – a Black Retriever. A one month and a half year old female pup. She is absolutely beautiful and soooo cute, not to mention incredibly well mannered and friendly.

We named her after the dog who played Sam in “I am Legend” Abbey and i think it suits her just fine :) She’s a pure retriever although she’s got a bit of a mix between a Golden Retriever and a Labrador Retriever. She’s got blue eyes! And i insist that is only while she’s a pup. I think she’ll grow out of her blue eyes next time when i take a pic of her with flash. She’ such a cutesy! After meeting her for the first time, we went to get soem stuff for her. Dog food, dog treats, dog collar, dog leash and most importantly dog shampoo with anti-flea repellent.

We took her home and we left her in the garden to play. Ooooh she just loved playing there. She was all hippity hoppity on the grass and was biting just about every human planted plant there. Hahaa. It’s mine… gimme it!

Well after all that playing we had to give her a bath. She was such a good girl, she didn’t move or struggle much at all! Unlike… ahem my poochie Duchess back at home.

It was quite funny, three people to bath a tiny pup. I’m the one washing her face. To my left is Giden’s brother Mervin and his gf Amy.

After the bath, we dried her up with the hair dryer and let her rest for a bit before taking her for vaccination at the vet. Oh she played heartily and jumped and about again. Just look at her chill out.

Sad to say though, later on she was just so tired. This is how she sleeps :P

She kept sleeping during the drive to the vet. The vet told us she could be having a fever or a flu that was still dormant. On top of that she had something like nappy rash but for puppies. Bacteria pimples from what he called it, common in most pups but after a week of medication she’ll be alright. However because of the unknown fever or flu, we couldn’t give her vaccination till her immune system was up. So back to the vet in a week’s time, she’ll go.

By that time, me and Gid won’t be there to see her grow up :( Hope they take lots of pics as she grows up. I won’t be able to see my little Abbey as a pup anymore then.. awwww

You can see more pics of Abbey here.
