While meeting up with the Monash bunch the other day, I came across this shop I’ve always wanted to check out called InQBox, located on the lower ground floor. And guess what I found eco-stuff! Whee!!

They had a label called “Shibby” and that was the recyclable product I was referring too. What I love about this place, is the fact that they are place, which allows young entrepreneurs to have a go and showing their talent and on top of that they support good causes.

Sorry don’t have pics of the products inside :( but go check it out anyways.

InQbox™ actively contributes to social causes by providing Charities with space at no-profit to sell their handicraft and art. We have so far worked with The Spastic Children’s Association GRO Workshop among others, because the less fortunate can be creative too!
I have been recently hunting for green products and very sad to say I can’t find that many here in KL, let alone Malaysia. But having sad that I did manage to find  a few. As to whether they are eco-friendly is entirely different story, but lets take a look at them shall we. 1. Of course The Body Shop will come to mind in this field. And yeah I do like their products, I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that despite the fact that they are multinational company and only wish to make more money, that they are doing some environmental benefit here. So on top of my list, I love this product by them. 05092007589_resize.jpg 2. Next in line, while i happen to be walking around Lot 10 (and waddya know it’s a green building), I saw Timberland, which happens to also be one of the environmentally friendly brands currently. I absolutely love the marketing they labeled on their glass panels. 04092007582_resize_resize.jpg 04092007583_resize_resize.jpg
Been meaning to set this up for some time. So decided not waste anymore thinking and just get to it. Here we are folks, the group/site which I hope will be around to help those of us who believe in the green cause, but lack the motivation and inspiration to go forward with it. I created two portals for now, they are temporary. One is on Going on social network = http://Ipledgegreen.goingon.com and another is on Facebook = I Pledge Green Cause

It is a hard choice to make and to want to be environmentally friendly when you have a lot of negative feedback from your peers or even random people just saying to you “Why do you care??” Or even “Who would bother?”. Well guess what there are people who care! And the reason is simply because, despite this earth not being ours, God created this earth for all of us and its our home. We’ve only got one home if you were to think about it. If this planet were to be destroyed, where do you think our future generation will go? Mars and Venus? Sure…. how many years would it take for them to figure out how to make the atmosphere on those planet conducive enough for us to breathe there. So….having said that. “I Pledge Green” is born. So come join in, on facebook. What is it about? It is a just simple group that encourages everyone to pledge at least 1 eco-solution. From there hopefully more pledges will be made by others but yes starting out small first ad realistically first. 1 pledge a person, is enough to change the world slowly. In other words being the example so others can see it too. This has also been set up as a place, where people can also learn how to be green and share with one another their opinions on how some sort of activism can arise from all this. Especially in Malaysia and the Asian countries. In my personal belief I think Malaysia has to start somewhere, since I am from this country. But it is slow to develop and understand on such serious matters as this unfortunately. So while this beautiful country burns in the heat of an all year round summer, green people have to take up the cause to see that even the small country such as ourselves do not contribute to the already worsening state of the earth. The hand symbolizes the point of us making a pledge, for the sake of humanity and the future generation. I’ve said my peace. It’s not an obligation, but I do encourage the rest of us to make the effort. Lets save our home.. Click “I Pledge Green” now. for facebook or alternatively Click here to join the other social network http://Ipledgegreen.goingon.com
I am a fan of the late Anita Roddick. The late founder of The Body Shop, was a real eco-trend setter.

Believing that there should be a store out there that while taking care of us petty humans, also chose to take care of the environment (animals included). Starting Body Shop in a humble store in the UK, this activist-entrepreneur believes that “campaigning and good business is also about putting forward solutions, not just opposing destructive practices or human rights abuses.” And I fully agree with that. One can complain and also put out awarenesses there, but in the end, what we really want are answers to how we can solve the issues we are with. Be they business ones or social ones. A Pioneer for the green cause, she was an inspiration to many out there, and hopefully more businesses and people like her shall flourish.
I didn’t really like his music then, up until recently. No it wasn’t because of Live Earth, but rather his music started to grow on me. More so I didn’t like the how my friends were going oohss and ahhhss on him when i was in school. Anyway, I am an avid admirer of John Mayer now. For his extremely good guitar skills and all the the to his personality, the way he carries himself and his sincere thoughts. After I heard about the press conference at Live Earth, John Mayer not only got my admiration but also my respect for his honest opinion on how people are going about whether the message of live earth will get out there. Check it out here. Followed by his song “Waiting on the World to Change” or more so “Not waiting on the world to change”. Sorry i couldn’t ge a better video. and i have no idea why he cut it up.. but here’s the ending of it..
