Beyonce’s filming has been Postponed due to Baby Bump?

Beyonce

Beyonce debuted her baby bump at last night’s VMAs and while much of the world was shocked at the big reveal and subsequently elated for the diva, the career consequences of the bun in the oven are starting to materialize. Deadlinereports that the shooting schedule for the Beyonce-starring remake of ‘A Star Is Born’ could be pushed back in order to accommodate the star’s delicate condition.

Deadline revealed that Warner Bros. was hoping to begin production on the film, to be directed by Clint Eastwood, by February of 2012. With Beyonce expecting, that goal seems highly unrealistic. However, the star’s pregnancy does have an upside in that it gives the studio more time to find a suitable male lead. Leonard DiCaprio was the director’s first choice, but he is not available. Other names that were bandied about to play opposite of Bey were Will Smith and Christian Bale. While both actors would probably have great onscreen chemistry with Beyonce, nothing has been settled or set in stone yet.

This film could be the one that puts her on the map, movie-wise. She is already a musical superstar and her film roles, as Etta James in ‘Cadillac Records’ and as Deena Jones in ‘Dreamgirls,’ were respectable turns, but failed to transform her into a bonafide movie star.

Congrats once again to Bey and hubby Jay-Z as they await the birth of their first child. We found it adorable how Beyonce kept cradling her tummy while posing on the black carpet and while performing. It was maternal instinct, no doubt. She also didn’t miss a step or a beat during her performance, despite her delicate condition.

Demi Lovato Disses those Dissing her new Healthy Weight!

Demi Lovato Defends Weight Gain

After getting treatment for bulimia, Demi Lovato has been sporting a healthier figure, but some criticized the 19-year-old for her weight after appearing at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Despite their negative words, the singer is not letting the haters get the best of her.

“I’ve gained weight. Get over it,” she tweeted last night. “That’s what happens when you get out of treatment for AN EATING DISORDER.”

Lovato subsequently deleted the message, but added: “Guess what? I’m healthy and happy, and if you’re hating on my weight you obviously aren’t. : ) #UNBROKEN.”

The ‘Skyscraper’ singer wore a curve-hugging mini-dress to the VMAs where she presented the award for Best Collaboration with Chord Overstreet. After taking to Twitter to fight back against critics, actress Ashley Greene, sent Lovato a supportive message, reminding the former ‘Sonny With a Chance’ star that she’s “beautiful.”

“This is why you’re my friend,” Lovato replied to the ‘Twilight’ star. “Thank you girl.” It looks like Joe Jonas‘ exes are getting along just fine.

In October 2010, Lovato entered a treatment facility to address her physical and emotional issues. She left the center in January and has since released her chart-topping single, ‘Skyscraper,’ and recorded her third full-length album, ‘Unbroken,’ which is set to drop on Sept. 20.

Katy Perry wins 2 Moonmen and is Lovey Dovey with Hubby at VMAS 2011

While the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards turned out to be Katy Perry‘s night, she still treated the big event like a public date night with husband Russell Brand. After all, the pink-haired ‘Firework’ singer did need some help carrying her two Moonmen statues home, right?

Perry, 26, married Brand, 36, just under a year ago and the newlyweds AKA Hollywood power couple remain inseparable. Us Weekly reports that “Russell and Katy were by each other’s side all night,” with a source confirming that the lovey dovey couple “had their arms linked and their hands intertwined. They seemed really happy and were just smiling and beaming at each other.”

The Brands’ PDAs extended beyond the clasping of hands and arms. “They were whispering in each other’s ears and giggling — it looked like they had private jokes to share,” the source also said. This doesn’t seem like any sort of “revelation,” as Perry and Brand are young, happy and madly in love enough to be married!

However, Brand did beam with pride when his bride notched her first award. The source said the comedian looked “genuinely touched, almost tearful,” while Perry was just as proud of her man when he took the stage to deliver an impassioned speech about his late friend Amy Winehouse before the musical tribute to the singer.

Perry even addressed how Brand handled the tribute, telling the press that “not only was he providing the beautiful color palette that Amy was, but also providing a realistic point of view and giving hope to anybody out there that felt like they needed hope.”

Perry paid her hubby another compliment, saying, “I thought it was really well-rounded and smart, and that’s why I married him. He is smart and I learn a lot.”

Aw, you guys! So in love, so fashionable and so famous.

Britney Spears announces “Criminal” as her New Video.

Britney Spears is putting the kibosh on all of the rumors surrounding her next single off of ‘Femme Fatale.’ Even though people have talked about ‘(Drop Dead) Beautiful,’ ‘Inside Out’ and ‘Trouble for Me’ being released next, Spears herself confirmed to MTV that she is actually releasing ‘Criminal’ as her next single and video.

During the interview, a reporter asked Spears if she had “any plans for a new video [or] another single.” A smiley Spears coyly replied, “Yes … I don’t know if I’m at liberty to tell, but, um, I will anyways. It’s ‘Criminal.’” Spears then went on to explain why she chose the song as her next single, trying to find the words as she said, “Actually, when I first heard it, it’s just different … Nothing I’ve heard like this before.”

According to MuuMuse, Spears’ fans were able to take a poll on Facebook in order to vote on which song Brit should release as her next single. ‘Criminal’ won over ‘Inside Out’ and ‘(Drop Dead) Beautiful’ on the poll, and what Britney fans want, Britney fans get. We can’t wait to see what the video will look like! More dancing this time, please!

Lauren Alaina Accepts Marriage Proposal

Sorry, guys. It looks like Lauren Alaina is off the market — well, she was for one day, at least. The ‘American Idol‘ runner-up accepted a “marriage” proposal from a 17-year-old fan, with the stipulation that it was just for the night.

During a meet-and-greet behind the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. on Saturday, Zack Tremblay dropped to one knee and asked Alaina to marry him. The ‘Idol’ alum looked legitimately shocked, and paced a bit while looking at her adorer, who sadly didn’t have a ring to offer her.

“I’ll marry you for tonight. Just for the night,” she bartered in front of a small crowd. “I’ve never had this happen before.”

The 16-year-old singer was in town for the American Idols Live! tour, along with her fellow Season 10 contestants. Tremblay was one of many fans who waited to catch a glimpse of the star behind the venue. “I think I just died,” the North Providence native said to his friends before posing for pictures with his temporary bride.

Although their relationship was fleeting, the young fan had high hopes. “If today goes well,” he added, “why not for the rest of my life?” Hey, it doesn’t hurt to dream.

Hillary Duff get’s $100,000 for not starring in  film!! Whoooaa

Hilary Duff

Now that’s what we call a severance package!

According to sources, Hilary Duff has a play-or-pay contract. That means, if she doesn’t end up working after the contracts are signed, she still gets paid.

So after being fired from Bonnie and Clyde for being all preggers she’s been paid $100,000. Maybe she’ll set up a college fund for the baby.

As far as a replacement is concerned, Amanda Seyfried was approached but turned down the role.

When asked about the whole situation, Duff simply replied:

“I dont wanna give them any more press than they’ve already gotten off me … I think ‘baby’ is a little bit more exciting.”

While getting $100,000 for getting FIRED is always exciting, we can definitely agree, a new baby is super exciting.

To all the ladies out there – and some very unique males – how much do you love to shop? Seriously don’t you just love browsing and taking your time at store to shop. It’s called temporary therapy. LOL… Anyway…. Last Friday, i was given the opportunity, thanks to RedFM to be one of the media people to take part in the “Truly A Shopper” press launch. I have to say it was one of the coolest press launches i’ve been too. Permit me to elaborate. “Truly A Shopper” is a new web series that will be aired via online very soon. It’s a web tv reality series which is out to search for a person who can examplify what is truly a shopper. Basically a real shopperholic. A person who not only knows their malls but they need to have a keen fashion sense and able to shop on a budget. Most importantly on a budget!

Screen shot 2011-03-10 at 9.50.53 PM

The show will be hosted by Hansen Lee and Belinda Chee.

P1010997

This is the producer of “Truly A Shopper”, Eugene. It’s his first time producing a web series and I think he’s got a fantastic concept. I have a feeling this show will do pretty well. ^_^

P1010998

So what happened when i went i tried out being a “Truly A Shopper” contestant (not the real thing, they just wanted us to get a feel of what the show would be like-very smart)? Well cut the story short..Please just watch the video hehehe The Task:

  • Given 2 RM30 Vouchers at Da Louis to buy accessories
  • Given 2 RM50 vouchers at C&E Shoe Boutique

So these are things I got.

P1020007

P1020008

Gold dangling earrings from Da Louis at RM29.90 . So total at first outlet was RM47.90. Not too bad…..

P1020009

Golden shoes from C&E Shoe Boutique at RM89.99… well within budget.

P1010999

So does it glam the look.. wellllll maybe not enough. i’m very casual ok!!!!

I have to confess something. i’m a lousy shopper cause i buy on impulse at times. Not a good thing ok! One should be smart with what one buys, although i am proud that there are certain things in my life that i have bought which have become an essential item and has served me well through the years. I’ve prepared a list of questions on how you can determine whether you are a smart shopper:
  1. Do you usually by what you need and not on impulse?
  2. How fast can you make up your mind when you go shopping?
  3. Do you usually know what you want to buy at the first store?
  4. When you buy something do you try to buy as many things as possible within that budget?
  5. Do you spend less than 15 minutes at a store?
  6. Do you end up spending within your budget?
  7. Do you know the locations of the stores like the back of your hand?
  8. Can you immediately decide on which store to go to get your item?
  9. Do you prefer using cash to credit card?
  10. Do you carry a big shopping bag?
Yeap, see if you say yes to most of them. if it’s a yes then you are indeed a smart shopper in my opinion. ^_^ If you think you are the person who should win Truly A Shopper, then make sure you audition out!!  The winner of ‘Truly A Shopper’ will get RM10,000 cash and RM5,000 worth or prizes, and the title of Malaysia’s best shopper. how to audition??? Ok details are here.

Awesomeness! Absolutely awesome. I’m referring to Michael Jackson’s movie stage performance “This Is It”. Ladies and gentlemen, this really is “it”. The last and final works of MJ about to show the world that he is still King of Pop and always will be the ultimate performer. If you notice I’m not using “was” past tense here. Because I believe very much that MJ’s music is still alive with all of us. And it is because of that he himself will never die.

Watching the man perform at 50 and seeing creativity develop right from the core is spectacular. You are seeing the man himself preparing for millions and millions of fans out there who are eagerly waiting for him in London.

this is it mj 2

This Is It” was the final curtain call for Michael Jackson as he stated this to the crowd during the press conference held inside The O2 arena. MJ had many reasons to perform this show. To let his kids – Prince, Paris and Blanket – watch the real performer their father was back in the day. Even at 50 years, the man is still the best performer in the world. Honestly if you were to watch him rehearse, you can see why he always comes up with the most fantastic performance. What caught me buy surprise though as I sat down in the cinema, was that the cinema was not even half full! The movie released nationwide on the 28th of October and when I had bought my tickets two weeks ago, according to the guy behind the counter, he told us that the movie was sold out. Oddly enough.. there weren’t that many people checking out the movie, despite it only being shown on the silver screen for two weeks. Maybe it has to do with the fact that it is shown around the same time as Halloween. Causing movie goers to skip a show or two. All the same, I enjoyed watching the last bits of MJ preparing for his best performance ever. La Toya may have her reservations that MJ won’t be pleased that the world may not be seeing the perfectionist at his best – cause after all, what we are watching is a rehearsal. However i think otherwise. Whilst the movie “This Is It” may just be a rehearsal of the legendary MJ making a come back, but it really goes to show much effort was placed into it. This is it mj “Everyone (the audience) is looking for escapism. They want to be entertained. So go at it at your best,” Michael Jackson. I paraphrased it a bit, but that was what he encouraged his crew members, dancers and singers as they huddled in a big circle after a rehearsal. How great is it. Just imagine, the fans.. FANS are dancing with Michael Jackson and these are fantastic dancers, singers included. They get to watch their idol perform for them.. for ‘free’. Eat your heart out So You Think You Can Dance, for this audition i think beats even that show. Performers, whom from a young age were inspired by MJ and started dancing or singing because of him, get their ultimate dream which is to perform right beside him.. I can only imagine how devastated the entire production team must have felt when MJ left them. MJ didn’t give a full out performance. Obviously not as he would probably be drained from doing it over and over again. You could see during the  rehearsal for ‘Thriller’ he didn’t go all out on the dance routine. His dancers however were going at 100%. Who wouldn’t, it’s Michael and he would expect nothing less. Speaking of that, I was really looking forward to at least catch a glimpse of the wonderful costumes that were prepared for the show. The costume designers were saying that there was technology not even out there yet such. The crowd would have been bedazzled with 4 million Swarovski crystals and lighted up using LED technology. Read more about that here. this is it costume MJ’s This Is It did not make anything big in the box office yet but it is well on its way to making history for a musical documentary. It already grossed in 2.2 million domestically on it’s first day. Read on here. Behind the glitter and glamour, the sweat and mistakes during rehearsals. MJ never once kicked up a tantrum. He knew his music and he knew what he wanted out of his production cast and crew. Whenever something went wrong, he would mention it politely saying, that it is not going right and they would have things rectified immediately. You can’t afford to waste time in not getting something imperfect for his last show ever. Every once in a while MJ would murmur.. “This is why we rehearse”. Knowing full well that by the time the show hits the road, everything would already be in place. MJ you are still King of Pop and we can say it is a waste that you left us too soon. There will be some of us who are glad that in your death.. whatever bad publicity that was out there has been washed away. People will now truly remember you for the performer that you are and were. None would be able to disagree with that. The man who brought the internet to a stop and caused all sorts of media to get jammed. As a young boy MJ started at his peak. And now even in death, MJ has left at his peak. Head on to Itunes to hear a snippet of his song “This is It”.

“I hope now the genius and humanity of Michael Jackson gets its due,” said Sharpton.

Last Friday morning i received horrifying and shocking news from a friend. The world now mourns the lost of the King of Pop. The legend, the man, the performer,  the entertainer, the king – Michael Jackson has now left us all. Never again will we be able to see the works of pure genius by this one person.

I remember the days when I was younger and I would dance and sing to memorable songs such as Bad, Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror, Beat It and Thriller. My mom would tell me stories of how when we were in Rome, I would walk down the stairs of the hotel we were staying at – I was three by the way –  and I was dancing and singing to his songs. Lol. Good memories.

I even remember the tme when I had my sport day events and we had our silly gymrama. The teachers used the song Beat it and I can still envision the movements… which were terribly lame, now as i think back about it. I remember my little brother dancing and singing for performances to Michael’s stuff like ‘ABC’. And the glove – my gosh – the glove. The iconic glove, I even made one for my brother and then I would give him some moves to use. I just have such sadness when I think about the fact that we’ll never see him perform ever again. Never will we get to hear new words come out of his mouth. I feel dumb that I didn’t watch his performance when he came down to Malaysia. My parents had asked if I wanted to watch and all i retorted back was.. “Nah, i’m not in that phase anymore..”. Silly isn’t it.. It’s even sadder that he was going to have his world tour and now it’s not going to happen.

You can watch the MTV video tribute.

With all the media hype that revolved around his personal life. I honestly think all of it are just terrible lies, of people not being able to stand his success. How true are the statements that he did do the ‘bad things’ that were stated in the news. True or untrue, people cannot deny that Michael Jackson has changed the very course of the music and dance industry. We say that we always need to set a benchmark… Michael Jackson was more than that, he was the reference point. His influence has moved a number of recording artists and performers now to be the people they are today. Just take for example Chris Brown, Wade Robson, Ne Yo, Justin Timberlake…. just to name a few.

michael-jackson-smooth-criminal-lean

We should not remember him for all the troubled times he had. Instead I feel that we should celebrate the life he had. The parts that brought joy and change to our life. Humanitarian works on one side, let us see and remember him for the wonderful performer that he was. No other performer has been able to command the crowd he has been able to. Michael Jackson, you will be sorely missed. My condolences and heart felt sympathies go out to his family members and also to the millions of fans all over the world. We may have lost him, but his music will live on to generations to come. Rest in Peace Michael. May you finally have the peace and the neverland you always wanted here on earth. Share with me, what was your first ever Michael Jackson song that touched your heart? And the one that you will always remember in your childhood days.
I just read this article on TV.com. It states that there is the possibility that the infamous Idol judge – sent-to-tear-apart-young-contestants-to-shreds – may end his time being on the show. According to the news his schedule has finally caught up with him. Read TV.com article. He may just sit behind a desk and give witty sarcastic disdainful remarks to contestants, but that is all hard work! If not for his guidance, probably people would not know how to vote for actual singers. His guidance was so ‘good’ people started a group to purposely vote for the lousy singers.
For what it’s worth, his stinging comments are true! And its because of the truthness in it, that’s why it’s funny. To me anyway its funnier than the people who come in and are made fools of, just for the 15 minute to fame. Besides who does not love the wonderful banter between Ryan Seacrest and the American Idol judge. Lol. I always get a good laugh when I watch Ryan diss Simon in all sorts of manners. You gotta watch this video on how it all started.
So would I like it if Simon left. No! Would I watch the show if he left. No! Would i bother encouraging others to watch it if he left. No! Come on he’s all real and that’s cool :) You can read the article here.
