People, Firefox your one and only favourite web browser is trying to set a Guinness World Record For Download Day 2008.

Download Day - English

They are attempting to set a world record for the most software downloads in 24 hours and will occur on Firefox 3 launch day. All you have to do is pledge that you will download Firefox 3. Meaning in 24 hours, we as lovers of Firefox have to do our part and download the latest web browser that will be launched the same day as Download Day. So far no dates are confirmed yet but it’s set to be in June. This month people!

firefox-3

Let’s spread the Firefox and not only just get a new world record but make web browsing even better. How will you know when to download? Just pledge yourself on Spread Firefox.com. Then they will send you reminder emails and notify you of the exact date. At the moment 931,312 have signed up pledging they will download. Last year Firefox 2 had 1.6 million downloads on their launch day. This year they are aiming for 5 million… WTH!!?

This is my first blog post that i’m writing up through Scribe Fire. I’ve been seeing this Firefox plugin for some time now and I recall installing it before, but didn’t really play around with it much last year. So here I am giving it a try now.

scribefire

I’m liking it ^_^. It’s pretty easy to use and very quick for those one off blog posts that I want to share with others about something. Rather than having to wait for my login page to load up. Putting up pictures is a breeze, I can just copy paste and it’s all in :) . Of course I’m not so sure whether it’ll work with my lightbox and flexible upload plugin. On your firefox a small Scribe Fire icon will appear at the bottom.

And when you click on it, it brings out this new window which is directly on top of your current open tab. Font adjustments and inserting links, pictures and even video is all ready for you. Of course its only from Youtube.

On the right hand corner you will notice four tabs. Blogs, entries, categories and options.
You can do quite a lot with this little thing and you can add multiple blogs into this. Great for people like me who has to manage more than one blog. All your entries can be seen and even edited via scribefire. Add and delete categories. The options section allows you to edit the timestamp and tags which is tied up with technorati tags and can be even bookmarked on del.icio.us using the same tags.

bad part, means I have yet another plugin running on my already very filled up Firefox on plugins to the point it’s ready to throw up. ^_P
