I remember the days, when i was  teen in high school.. where all my girlfriends were crazy over Westlife. I’ve never been a huge fan of the Irish boyband, but i do appreciate their music.  RedFM was giving away concert tickets on air to our listeners and they weren’t the only fortunate one.. hehe. The RedFM Jocks and RedFM Ryders went to the concert as well!
It was a blast!!
Westlife performed their Gravity Tour 2011 Concert at Putra Indoor Stadium, Bukit Jalil and this was to support their eleventh studio album Gravity.
photo

They had these huge cut out boards outside the stadium, so i stood with the boards.. and i felt terribly short once again. lol… since i didn’t get to meet  Nicky ByrneKian EganMark Feehily and Shane Filan.. cut out carboards would have to do.. haha tragic :P

Take a look at what was the setlist for the performances of the night:
  1. “No One’s Gonna Sleep Tonight”
  2. When You’re Looking Like That
  3. World of Our Own
  4. What Makes a Man
  5. Safe
  6. Home
  7. “Beautiful Tonight”
  8. “Medley”
    1. Viva la Vida
    2. Only Girl (In the World)
    3. The Time (Dirty Bit)
    4. Bad Romance
    5. I Predict a Riot
  9. Seasons in the Sun
  10. You Raise Me Up
  11. I’m Already There
  12. “I Will Reach You”
  13. Flying Without Wings
Encore
  1. What About Now
  2. Uptown Girl
photo

Camwhoring with RedFM Ryder Priya… aiyooo why la blur blur! We were in rush.. i arrived a tad late to the concert..but at least i got there in time for the best songs of the night.

photo

Look at the crowd all there for Westlife.. Wow! it’s quite a sight when you see a big crowd at a concert.

photo

if i’m not mistaken i think this was Mark talking to the crowd.
One of the highlights of the night, had to be one a guy came out to propose to the love of his life and Westlife sang the proposal for him. Talk about setting a high benchmark! You have Westlife singing for you!! OMGosh!!! That’s unbelievably romantic and very well planned. lol.
Kian was so adorable when he told us that his wife was back at home with their new bouncing baby girl. he requested the crowd to say “Hi Twinkle” to the camera, so that one day he could show that to his daughter when she’s all grown up. That’s epic, to have a crowd say hi to you, when you’re not even their…. and when you are only an infant!
Here’s just one of the many famous songs that was performed that night by the boys. Their rendition of “You Raise Me Up!”

More videos coming up soon on my facebook page and on youtube.

photo

It also happened to be dear Cecilia’s birthday, so what a lovely gift for her to come watch the concert with us.

Read here on the interview we did!

The night was young and a set of food beckoned us.. lol.. such drama

However i have to say the delicious food at Sevenspoons is definitely calling me to go back. Located just above 7atenine, the same place where Kuala Lumpur had it’s first ever “Oyster Soiree“. This would be my first time dining at this snazzy, stylish and chic restaurant – 3 words that aptly describe sevenspoons, a brand that represents the recently refreshed mezzanine dining here at 7atenine.

photo

When you first enter Sevenspoons and you will be greeted the wafting scent of pyrethrum, specially chosen to ease the mind & soul. The soft flickering light from candles guide you to your table – talk about setting the mood of romance ^_~. Once seated, our attentive wait staff presents you with the menu. Enjoy a chilled glass of your beverage of choice and home made grissini whilst you leaf through the menu.

once your choice is made, just sit back & create scintillating banter as you await your chosen courses.

Sevenspoons envelopes diners in a warm glow, creating an enchanting & memorable evening to be savoured for years to come. Sevenspoons offer a range of cosmoplitan cuisine innovatively created that appeals to both the local and international clientele. The dishes are presented in a minimalist yet artful style that is pleasig to the eye and the taste, delicioius and delightfully different.

The risotto is something not to be missed, if you aren’t a fan of fish.. after eating this dish You’ll only have one wish

Time for Dessert

photo

manju manju - green tea ice cream accompanied with azuki red bean (RM19)

This is the best green tea ice cream i’ve tasted in the longest time. This was made in the kitchen of sevenspoons and its awesome! Why? First green tea is my favourite tea, but the problem with green tea ice creams that i’ve tried, is that they are a tad bit too sweet. The Manju manju at Sevenspoons is great cause it has just the right amount of sweetness IMO. i don’t like stuff that’s too sweet. Two thumbs up for in-kitchen-made green tea ice cream! ^_^

photo

mango sticky rice – steamed glutinous rice, served with mango & passion fruit ice cream (RM19)

Under the sea..under sea.. down where it’s wetter, down where it’s better.. take it from meeee

LOL that was the first song that came to my head when i was told RedFM Late Night Love Songs was giving away this wonderful pass to the Champagne and Oyster Soiree at 7atenine! Ooooh bliss to be entertained by a lovely band, served with a delicious french bubbly and freshly shucked oysters.

So what was the event all about? This “Champagne & Oyster Soiree” happens to the first of its kind in Kuala Lumpur .The Champagne and Oyster Soiree was in conjunctions with World Oyster Day. A night where you are permitted to be flamboyant and possible act like a Posh Spice. :P

Here’s a bit of info on the Oyster Festival

The Oyster Festival originated as a hometown parade honouring Theodore Roosevelt before evolving into the largest outdoor festival on Long Island, under the auspices of the Oyster Bay Rotary. Every year, more than 200,000 visitors flock to an Indian-summer weekend on the waterfront in downtown Oyster Bay – drawn by live entertainment, Tall Ships, top-notch artisans, pirate shows, midway rides, and the iconic oyster eating and shucking contest. And of course…the Food Court, where volunteer chefs and culinary pros work side by side, cooking and serving dozens of unique oyster, clam and other seafood concoctions along with traditional festival fare. Nothing is duplicated and everything is all for a good cause –funding many local non-profit organisations.

Kuala Lumpur, June 22 – Oysters are popularly celebrated in festivals in various manifestations around the world. A day dedicated to celebrate and commemorate oysters is all the rage in European continents. Now it is Kuala Lumpur’s turn to enjoy a full-fledged oyster tribute… thanks to 7atenine!

7atenine’s first oyster gala christened “A Champagne and Oyster Soiree” held tonight was celebrated in conjunction with the World Oyster Day. This marvelous mollusk got a larger than life treatment with a 2 hour free flow Nicolas Feuillate champagne and fresh Irish oyster feast, a pearl fashion show, live jazz performance, some oyster facts and trivia challenge.

All guests received an exclusively-crafted mother of pearl door gift and one lucky person walked away with a RM6,000 pearl necklace in a lucky draw conducted at the end of the event – compliments from Edward Kong South Sea Pearls.

International seafood importer, Tim Boucat of Southern Rock Seafood, was on hand to enlighten all on interesting oyster insights which included farming and shucking of oysters. – 7atenine

Check out what went on throughout the night ^_^
