I’m a dog lover, I seriously am. I want to say I’m an animal lover but I dogs are an absolute favourite of mine. Last Sunday was the Malaysian Dog Day 2009, held at the Chin Woo Stadium which is located right smack in front of the Wesley Methodist Church along Jalan Hang Jebat.

We ended up going to the wrong stadium at first, cause it was quite easily mistaken for Staidum Merdeka. It didn’t help that we saw dog owners parking there and walking out from the wrong Jstadium. Parking was not the most wonderful thing. ust outside the stadium the narrow road was virtually jam pack with cars. Very helpful though that we could park in the church right next to it :)

It was a joy to see dog lovers of every kind. The first few dogs i saw were a bunch of Golden Retrievers outside the entrance of the stadium. Outside there were a bunch of tents selling doggy goodies. puppyday_05 Two gorgeous Retrievers.

A bulldog and.. possibly a mixed boxer..?

puppyday_07

One Shih Tzu and a mini Pincher. The Mini Pincher’s legs seriously reminded me of chicken feet. So scrawny and gangly. lol

The SPCA trying to help stray dogs get adopted.

Say Scooby Doooby Doooooooo. A Great Dane! :)

puppyday_15

I think this is another breed of Shih Tzus. I‘ll never understand why people love putting pink ribbons on their dogs head. haha.

puppyday_61  Mister G tagged along with me to the event. We are both dog lovers :)

Inside the Chin Woo Stadium, competitions such as the Dog Fashion Show and Dog Obedience test were taking place. The fashion show really had some adorable dogs and you can see how some of the owners are so gung ho about dressing up their dogs.  Like this one below!

A Golden Retriever turned into a clown. Poor dog haha. But it was definitely a popular winner. Everyone wanted to take a picture with it.

And moving on to even more dogs at the event….

This was just too cute to pass up. A Mnachester United dog fan hehe. Take a guess which is the head!

puppyday_51

This dog is abso-tive-aly gorgeous. Her name is Fergie and she is a mini collie. Or also known as a Shelties. She is like a little toy dog!

This SIberian Husky looks like a wolf and a really smart dog too. I can’t say much of the owner though.. or rather the  lady owner. They were playing a game called Simon Says where you basically follow the instructions of the commander and then just do what he says. Say the commander says sit. Then both the owner and the dog have to sit, unless told otherwise like ‘Give the dog a kiss on the head’’. The owner didn’t really know how to play :P

This was a very shaved shih tzu hehe. Look at its face haha. It’s so saddeningly cute. I know i’m creating all sorts of words that don’t even exist here. haha.

I personally enjoyed it when they had the obedience test. Check out the video. :)

Overall it was fun but I think the event could’ve been more interesting. What made it worth my while was just checking out the dogs :) and of course the company i had gone to see it with. It’s always more fun when you have another dog lover to watch stuff like this. Watch out for my next post on the Pet World Malaysia Event!

I love Sakuras. Or also known as Cherry Blossoms that are famous flowers from Japan. If I could see a beautiful sight, I’d pick the autumn season in Japan when the Sakuras would fall down like snowflakes to the ground. It is one beautiful sight captured on pictures so how would it be if it was seen in real life… ooohhh bliss :)

Japanese Sakura

In the midst of my busy busy schedule, I managed to see this wonderful sight. Our own Malaysian version of the falling Sakuras. Every year this tree will bloom beuatiful flowers and I think they are bougainvilleas although i could be wrong… i have no idea what flowers these are. :S But I love looking at them no less. It’s nice to just step back in all the hectic days and admire some beautiful scenes out there.

Our Version of Sakura

Look at the fallen flowers, gorgeous and breathtaking… not that I can say that for my photography skills but no less, I love the flowers :)

Our Version of Sakura 1

It’s like a soft carpet of pink clouds.

Our Version of Sakura 2

A close up of the darling flowers.

It’s nice to just appreciate the sites around you. It’s very soothing and relaxing. For those in stress i urge that :)
Lol… talk about a back to back advertorial. But I will write something on Acmamall because it is related quite close to me. I was pleasantly surprised to see, this particular ad showing up on blogs and on mine as well.

Acmall

Acmall 2

See me mommy, is the busy head of the Acmamall body here -Yes, technically she’s the Malaysian CEO for Acmamall – in this online mall. Yes it’s a mall for the SEA region. It’s about nearly 5 plus years already since Acmamall had been born. I can still remember when mom was still at the beginning stages of it…It was tough and a lot of people wondered why even bother going into an e-commerce if not people were willing to buy stuff online here. To some extent i can sort of agree, why get something online if you can get it directly straight off the shelf. But then again somethings bought online tend to be cheaper than those on the shelf..some that is not all. Acmamall which used to be Acmabooks, had started off with just selling books as it’s primary base of products. It was only recently that they started to venture into becoming a mall. Now they have stuff that ranges from  books, flowers, chocs… yada yada yada. And it’s still growing :) But I will say that they are always looking for more new products that have the possibility of being a selling point online. And I can definitely reassure you that all the items that are packaged and shipped off to any customer is the best condition possible. I say that because, i’ve seen how my neat-freak mother packs her stuff. My gosh it is so tightly wrapped it’s almost a chore to open it. But that just means it won’t get damaged in the mail when it’s flung to and fro :) Imagine with a company on a tight budget, it was pretty exciting to see our ad on TV. My gosh you won’t believe the PR lady for Acmamall had bargained… she is one tough cookie. I haven’t seen her but i bet she looks like this.

Mean PR

 lol. :P
Literally. I know that one has to do all they can for their campaigns, but I think this is really overwhelming. This is the drive back to my area at willyou take a look at the highway and what is plastered all over the place? On every single piller, under the bridge, all small bits of grass that is left and on every tree.

political pollution

political pollution banners

political pollution under bridge Yes i know it’s blur and yes i took this driving hence it is blur.

Posters, banners…my gosh They are just sprayed everywhere and in my very honest opinion it looks like an extreme mess. The least they could is to put up their posters properly. Why simply put. Do they actually think that as long as their sign is seen people will vote for them? Seeing an advert or a poster doesn’t mean you will buy their product, the most it’ll do is let the image of your product stay in your head for a bit a picture will not make the individual convert from a viewer to a consumer. Same goes with political campaigns. The political standpoints would be the selling point and the campaign will be successful in getting votes if they have some good solid visions that could benefit everyone and the country as a whole. So seeing tour different parties spraying all sorts of print material in the area, doesn’t exactly make me want to shout whoopee.

political mess

Rather all this had made the area look terrible. You see that pole? My gosh it is bending down so much to the point it could get into the way of a car. And that poster.. it’s not even placed properly, it is bent and twisted beyond recognition…. In fact there is one flag pole that is bent in a very dangerous manner, a car could really knock into it, if it’s placed back upright, don’t have a picture of that though. Sigh…
To make my week even more exciting, the other day, I was sitting at the balcony with my friend at the office and then while we were talkign suddenly I felt a tad bit dizzy or at least it seemed like i was swaying a bit. We both paused in the midst of conversation and then we looked at one another.Me : Did you feel that? She: Yeah I did… We looked at our colleague that was sitting nearby and he was starring at his cup that was on the table. He brought his face closer to the table, then he started shaking the table slightly with his hand. My friend and I looked at each other again. Us: Gavin! Yes we felt it too…. and we laughed. He looked up and said he was wondering why his coffee was having the ripple effect. Whoa sounds like Jurassic Park.. Everyone else felt it too and everyone was either staring at the ceiling to look at the lights or they were looking at their palms to see if they had gone mad. Next thing you know we were evacuating the building, even though the shaking of the entire building only lasted for a second.

img_2441_resize.JPG

img_2441_resize.JPG For people that are suppose to be evacuating they look extremely calm.

img_2446_resize.JPG What is this a picnic? It seems that Indonesia had a minor earthquake at that time. It is not the first time i felt this before. But then again, I don’t know why we were laughing at the taking it so lightly. As we were told to evacuate, I ran to grab my handbag, external harddisk and the laptop. Whoa man… I know why take anything at all right.. but you never know. At least now i know what are the important things I’ll grab if there really was a real evacuation.

img_2454_resize.JPG

But what would grab if you were in the same situation? What would be important for you and not so important that you would let go? Obviously one’s life is a must. While I had gone to grab my hard disk most importantly, my colleague had grabbed this.

earthquakebook2.jpg

Hahhh??? A book? If you said this was a cheque book i’d understand.. maybe. But you grab a design book before your life ends and crumbles at your feet… and as they say, he died for his art.. :P But man…you don’t think about it till it happens to you.
