Before I continue with everything else. Let me just put up the post of my string of bad unfortunate circumstances that happened to me in the past 3 days. First on Friday night, my battery was down to just one bar. About an hour later, the battery had completely drained from my phone, which left my phone dead. So since i was out, what could i do but wait till i get back to the house to charge it. Ok that’s great, so get home and charge it no biggie. Plugged it up and then left it to charge, but I didn’t turn it on. I went back to my phone 6 hours later..this was around 5am, tried turning it on but all it gave me was a bright white screen… eehhh??

Dead Phone

Tried turning it on again later but it was still the white screen… ngggeehhh?? Right so which means my phone ain’t working brilliant. That was Friday night and didn’t do anything bout it during the weekend because the place was closed and someone kept insisting on having ‘ONE GOOD GAME’ first! I took it to repair and because my darn phone was bought in Singapore, I can’t get any warranty. So not only did i have to pay for my phone being checked, all my contacts were wiped out, due to them needing to reformat. So one down… = Phone died. Then came Sunday. On Sunday I had woken up to find that my site was terribly down. Down in the sense:
  • I could not access the control panel at all,
  • I could not access my ftp account,
  • I could not go in to my admin page at all
All I got was this…

wbhserror

Which left me dumbfounded. I didn’t understand as to what was happening at all. My site was fine at 3something in the morning while I was still up. But apparently according to my Nuffnang stats the website had gone down around 4am on the 28th of April 2008. Yeah I’m making it sound like a news paper read…bleh. I couldn’t access anything, which made me really upset and yes this is the same webhost that I have been having issues with that I had mention in this post. I thought shifting to the new host WebhostingBuzz, because of the carbon neutral thing, would be a good thing, but sad to say, after a good stint for about 2 months, the site crashed. Sigh…… Reason behind was because they had an outage on the 25th of April. Causing them I think the need to transfer to another HDD. So that transfer had caused the site to be down. I don’t know the technicalities of it, but from my understanding everything is back up again. I hold no grudges towards the and I’m very sure that they have some happy clients, but I wasn’t. In fact I was terribly miserable. Maybe you could just say that it was just not working out between me and that webhost provider. Which happens i suppose. I give kudos however to their Customer support that was pretty prompt in updating me with every single thing. Two down = Website down. Next of course since I didn’t backup my latest posts, at least 40 posts worth of hard work and comments (The precious comments) all gone… sigh… Same goes for my phone. Contacts gone.. means manual backup.. sigh. Three down = Lost posts and Lost contacts. However I couldn’t take it anymore. So I switched over to this one by another recommendation by Reuben who happen to own BolehVPN an online service (which I shall blog about later). Bless that boy’s soul, for he recommended ipserverone.com to me. I have to say I’m very VERY VERY impressed so far by their service. Right now I have already bought a hosting by Shinjiru, Exabytes, WebhostingBuzz and now Ipserverone. Of all the four, I can tell you that the first three it took like 1-2 days to settle activation and get my control panel details. But with Ipserverone I was delighted to get all the details within the next half hour. Whoooaaa like super fast. And the support guy Lee was really helpful, I received an email from him even at 12midnight…sheesh and asked whether he sleeps So yeah I was quite happy that everything was getting back to being settled. Now everything is on Ipserverone. Domain and Hosting, let’s see how it goes from here. And that was the drama….. Ah well…

You know what I hate about scars. Is that they are so easy to get and then so hard to remove or clear up. Let’s talk about the physical type of scars first. You can get them through a number of ways. Pimples, cuts, scrapes and the one I hate the most other than pimpls, mosquito bites!!! Those suck the worse because first you get a terrible bump due to your body rejecting the saliva from the mosquitoes. Then during the bump’s appearance on your skin, you find that it is terribly itchy and you then scratch. The scratching causes you to tear your skin, causing it to bleed. Which will then cause the hole on where it is you got bitten, into a stupidly beautiful crater. Furthermore the skin around the bite/scar will get darker and darker..crap pigmentation over load. Moving on now to emotional scars. These hurt bad on the first cut, but I suppose the good thing about it, is that they are concealed. That’s bad too because then a person is hurting inside meaning some unresolved issue. Emotional scars, probably for some can heal quick and for others maybe a bit longer. The healing process depends on the individual, if they choose to wallow in that scar or not. Maybe it would be better for those scars to be open for others to see…who knows because someone saw that scar, they can help in the healing process. Why am I talking about scars? It was a thought and also because I know have a bunch of them from mosquito bites. sigh…just when they were healing too, I get new mosquito bites. Back to applying lots of vitamin E cream.
There is a very good reason one never dances in the shower! Just yesterday I had a big idea to do a simple move. I moved just a little bit to the left and it required me to slide my feet on the floor. Brilliantly though I decided to do this move in none other but while I was showering. Great! So I had a wonderful slip and grabbed anything in sight. Which resulted in me, having my very nude bum on the floor and my arm hitting the side of a shower wall that was protruding out. So I slammed my armpit on the side and ended up with this.

bruised arm

See that ridiculous bruise? And yeah.. it’s not my best angle :P
This time I really have been removed from Glitterati. This was what I saw a few hours ago.

Glitterati No more

 Sigh… this was the reasoning..
” Dear Linora, I’ve checked through your blog, Aronil.com (the rest seem dandy). I’m not sure if the unit displaying ‘trendspike.com‘ is an ad unit and if yes, by which company. However, I suspect that the issue could be with the ad unit displaying “Education UK”. My reasoning is that its displaying something related to Malaysians, which means it could be based in Malaysia/S.E.A. Do try removing it for several days(next Friday should be safe) and see if your status gets reinstated. Nuffnang”
Put it this way, after hearing that, I removed the banner immediately. But this quite odd.. because anything to do with Google Adsense, isn’t actually linked with me putting up an ad service from another ad provider. Hmm oh well.. removing it for the time being now. So let’s see, first downtime problem on aronil.com, followed by expired domain on aronil.com, and the loading problem on aronil.com and finally aronil.com is no longer on gold glitterati status.. sigh.. what else could go wrong. Kill me now
I’ve had one heck of a week, there was so much of drama here and there but the one drama I want and have to rant about is the transfer of my site to a new webhost provider… Thus I shall begin. Already bad enough that I haven’t been blogging much for the past two days.. then this happens.. I was originally with Shinjiru.com as my webhost provider because that was a recommendation which I got from a friend. I went for it mostly because it had budget and best bargain for the specs that was sufficient for a ‘personal’ blog. The pricing they had then was around RM120 for a year, for 2GB worth of space and some other specs which i don’t remember, but it obviously had php 5 and mysql. Both which extremely necessary for wordpress. So yeah i went ahead and bought that along with RM38 for aronil.com domain. Great then I decided to look around for another webhosting provider to try something different. My gosh have I know learned the hard way. If some of you have visited, aronil.com site was down for a good day called Saturday because the transfer of the domain from the old host to the new one was in progress. I am now using WebhostingBuzz. And what really sold me was because of 3 things:
  1. the person who recommended it to me – Paul Tan (cause he is using it too and he’s got good some good impressions of it)
  2. the price is nearly the same as Exabytes (which was my alternative at first). I went for the two year package so i pay RM329 – about that-
  3. plus the fact that it is carbon neutral. Meaning that the place where their physical servers are is friendly to the environment. Always wanted that so yay
While all that is fine and dandy. I had such a headache with the transfer process. Mostly because this is my first time doing it. I didn’t know what to expect and I didn’t know how to to do anything. Basically I was in no control whatsoever. I did tell Shinjiru that I wanted to change to my new server and required them to release my domain and state the new ipserver. Ok cool done in a matter of hours. Bad thing… WebhostingBuzz kept directing me to their default site.

Sigh so my traffic went down to zero, I’m so sorry for the people who tried to access but to no avail. Not to mention that the backup I had done with wordpress had been corrupted meaning all my posts.. with it’s comments.. pictures and what not…. all gone. Sigh… The good thing though… I want to give my thanks to Nicholas of InvertedN and Abinesh of Delirium. Nick helped me settle the redirection problem of my domain on my confounded cpanel and Abi gave me a great idea asking whether I subscribe to my own rss. I do. and why? Because all my posts are there!!! Brilliant. Meaning that all my post can be placed back here, although I would have to manually put up each and everyone of them again along with their comments and pictures… oh goshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh All the same, these two were a great help and I give them full credit for anything going well now… and also to Mister G. He’s going to help me put up the post tomorrow.. One by one.. Ouch!!! That said though, I will say that Shinjiru is really fast with their replies. I sent them my problematic emails at around 12am, like just, and they replied me 2 hours later = 2a.m. I’m impressed! So thanks to Shinjiru for being my first webhost but I wanna try something else for a bit. Who knows I may use them again :) They do offer the best prices. I can’t make any comments on my new provider yet as i just transferred to them. But they are equally just as prompt. So lesson is.. please please please, backup all your data. make sure it’s uncorrupted and……….never ever change to another webhosting provider unless you really need to. To do it for fun is just not worth the headache.
