It’s been a while since i did a photo editing session on myself. One that i can play around with. I won’t say this is much of a manipulation but i’m quite happy with the outcome. A big thanks to Candid Photography for lending me their studio. And of course to three lovely photographers : Wingz, Dale and Alicia. All took the time to come by and shoot lil moi.

Considering it was only about a 2 hour shoot, i think quite a fair bit was covered. Why do i need these shots? Basically for my portfolio and also my own satisfaction Besides i like taking shots. It was quite random and the great thing about shooting indoor is that you can do a lot more with the end results of the pictures. Easy cropping and photo editing.

This is the first photo that i decided to edit on. Base on the last theme which i decided to just go crazy with. No, my make up was a lot more subtle at the beginning

This is before all the editing.. not including the whitening of the background and the slight fixtures of the scars on my skin here and there.

To the final version. Well it’s not fantastic but it was satisfying enough. If you have any ideas on how else i can make it different. I’m all ears! The grunge background is taken from Photoshop.kingtutz.com.

There’s more to come though Thanks a lot again to Wingz!

This was posted last year on Oct 16 2008, but I just had to share this with the rest of you Photoshop lovers. You want to know what our favourite image editor would look like in real life? This is what Photoshop would look like in real life. And when I say real life, I really mean real REAL life.

Click on this link to go to the real site on flickr or click here see the image in LARGE resolution.

The image you see above is not a manipulated photo but a real piece of work. This is actually a print ad done by the ad agency Bates141 in Indonesia for the company software-asli.com. The tagline at the bottom states “As real as it Gets”. Brilliant concept man. It’s basically saying, you want original software get it from this site. Lol coolness. You can read more about the process of the design here on Bates141 official website.

See the ad creation process. As one of commentators stated, you don’t really get the size of this art work until you see the ‘behind the scenes’.

The making of our toolbar : tools like the lasso, marquee tool, wand, hand and magnifier can be made out here. That’s a real magnifier at the bottom.

The guy standing there looks relatively small compared to the canvas lol. Can you believe this thing is 7x5m?

There are tons of photo manipulation images out there. There are even tutorials that teaches how you to create those photo effects and transformations with Adobe Photoshop (My love ^_^ , sigh!). There is no question how much Photoshop is am amazingly powerful tool when it comes to graphic designing and photo editing.

Brilliant piece of work here. I always enjoy smart ads

Yesterday I got an email from Photoshop.com, I was originally only had a beta account, but now it seems the site is up properly and i can know start using it for my online editing means. I’m a fan of Adobe products, and even more so Photoshop which I use for practically all my editing means. I don’t know how i could live without this wonderful product. They have integrated so much into it, which has become unbelievable.

Popping into the website I’m first greated by a nice greyish black background. The style of the website is very much ajax, follows the Adobe products latest icons, simple clean and easy navigation. Plus it is now using their new logo, which I hadn’t realised until a while back when I was recreating my blog layout. The Photoshop Express logo, uses something like a chat bubble. Actually I’m a bit confused as to which logo it is. At some points it’s the chat bubble then suddenly it’s the Adobe Photoshop box.

So this is what my account looks like after signing in. From there you can upload photos straight from the computer.

You can even connect straight to some of the other popular photo sharing sites, like Flickr, Facebook, Picasa and Photobucket. Then once you are connected, the photos you edit are automatically edited on anyone of the online photo applications. Quite easy to add photos too just drag and drop.

et’s take a look at the editing capabilities. Just like on the real Photoshop there are layers on the sidepanel. The editing features are all on each photo under photo options.

You can even do colour swap for one area. Take a look at the shirt at the bottom.

While viewing your pictures, you have choice as either a slideview, thumbnails or even with full details.

However I don’t like the fact there is no text editor on Photoshop express. It would’ve been real handy to have one section that allows you to add text to your images.

Altogether, I’ll say that while I’m happy that photoshop is now online, but i think it should’ve stocked up a bit more on it’s features. The last editor that I had enjoyed using at times was Picnik. I still think it has more promise though when it comes to editing.

I was terribly grump for the past 9 hours ago. Reason for the grumpiness was due to my Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Illustrator decided to bugger out on me.

Which is terrible because I really needed at this point to do a few designs.. argghhh.. With me, whenever I have an issue with my computer/ laptop be it software or hardware… I become very irritable and cranky. For I will just end up thinking about it on how my gadget can’t work. I just cannot cannot have it… my piece of gadget just not working the way I want it to.

After three hours of rehearsal at Ismail: The Last Days, i nearly forgot about the issue. That was until i stopped dancing, stopped singing and then i realised why i was ticked to begin with. Going home with a huff, i was determined to fix my problem in three ways

Go to Low Yat have my completely reformatted.

Go ask my friend Jay to help me install the programs (very sad and desperate here)

Figure it out myself via online and a powerful medium called GOOGLE!

Let me explain my issue first. What happened was my Photoshop and Illustrator which are both CS3, decided not to work. Photoshop i couldn’t even open it and Illustrator suddenly had a malfunctioned giving me a pop up that said please go see your IT person… Well hello I AM my own IT person!

Note: my Dreamweaver and Acrobat were working fine at this time.

This resulted in me first trying to reinstall both programs. When I attempted to do so, they gave me this new problem. “Illustrator CS 3 Installs Shared Component Only” and there was an error installing the MAIN Program!!..

Why!!!!!

I tried this again, by restarting my laptop..Still didn’t work. Then finally i resorted to hunting and deleting stuff in the registry which you can find under regedit from Run> **type** regedit. So yeah managed to find a few things and still ended up with the same problem.

Why!!!!!

FINALLY i searched on google for the problem and came to these sites.

Solution 1 : http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?14@@.3bc3c684/4 – The Adobe Forums

Solution 2 : Manually Removing Photoshop CS3 from VISTA

Solution 3 : Manually Removing Illustrator CS2 from VISTA

So my solution for the problem..Where you only get installing shared components for Photoshop and Illustrator?

Remove EVERYTHING from the computer. From registries to files that are still hidden in the computer like in C:\Program Files\Adobe
C:\Program Files\Common Files
C:\Users\admin\AppdData\Roaming\Adobe

and not forgetting that I have to look at filenames that go something like this: {B2D41883-3BFC-4BA0-A2F6-5A2C9836C238}

My gosh.. but after all that.. they work now

I’m all happy smiley again tee hee see I get to see these wonderful icons on my desktop again.

Ahhhh bliss I’m such a geek… i know heheehhe but i’m a kewt geek! Narcissist much ^_P

A possible reason for my tragedy is due Microsoft Vista having way to many security features which could’ve cause my program to have gone cacat (disabled). It was a real pain and I think this is the second time I’ve had issues with my Adobe programs. First was with the Dreamweaver but I fixed that too.. had a file that was saving crap automatically.. sorry can’t help there.. i forgot what it was called. But yeah… at least everything is working fine for now..

But i urge you not to get Vista.. not yet.. get XP and their new SP3. It’s out already ^_^

Yeap Happy happy

Just got back from ‘The Boyfriend Musical’ audition, not too bad but I just hope that give me a callback. I don’t care what role i get I just want to be involved!

That aside, to get my mind of that for the time being, went surfing on Youtube. I love looking at tutorials online and there was one I came across when I was searching for some latest news or videos on Lost. I found this video, which i’ve seen before, but thought of sharing it this time. This guy has drawn some of the cast members straight from I think either Photoshop with airbrushing it on the comp and using a Digital Tablet. Really cool to see it down in fast motion. ^_^

He’s also done other characters other than Sawyer like Locke and Kat, which was a gorgeous drawing. Personally I like the Kat drawing more.

I can’t do that, wish I could, but I do know a friend, Ari, who hides his ability in this kind of drawing. Click here to see some of his photoshop works. Hehe.

Same goes for guys, but i think reshaping girls is easier, because you need to have all those bulky parts for the guys muscles. This video is not that impressive but it was the only one i could find out photoshop editing a guys physique.
