Wow lots of numbers on the title. Continuing from the previous post, So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 Malaysia, was the event I had gone to last night with a bunch of friends.

I felt really bad that I didn’t manage to bring a banner for Raymond Liew, the person I’m supporting there. But there is another person I’m supporting in the Top 20 , who happens to be Samantha Yee. We used to dance together at Celestar Studio, where we had learn jazz. Fun time that was, and I haven’t seen Samantha since then! So to see her dance her heart out on stage was a really wonderful sight.

This season the show is hosted by Aisha Sinclair, a well recognised face on TV. The little lass was really sweet and held herself well on stage. Although it felt like her voice was a bit muffled – maybe she’s sick or something, i dunno – She held up to her part as the host of the show. I don’t want to make excuses, it was the first episode, hence cutting them some slack. ^_^

The judges of the show are the same from the previous season, with Pat Ibrahim, Ramli Ibrahim and Judimar Hernandez. I don’t want to be comparing, but it’s hard not to. In all honesty when you have judges like Simon Cowell and Nigel Lythgoe sitting on the panel or even Piers Morgan.

You kinda start wanting to hear some heavy, straight yet truthful constructive criticism. That was a mouthful. Thats all I’m saying. But I’m no judge, i’m just taking it from a spectators point of view, who likes to obviously talk about things and discuss.

So here we are in Ruums KL, which is right opposite Shangri La Hotel in the Golden Triangle. And the contestants are

Btw do you know how difficult it is to get pictures of them???? I searched all over and finally found a site that could give me quality pictures of the all the contestants and even some behind the scenes shot. You can view the press conference with the images HERE.

Here’s your top 20 folks. The Show started at 9.30 which means since we were there early we waited for a good hour. The boys got bored and because of that, they started making their own fun by ‘making’ fun of things around them. Sheeeeesh!!

Below were the sequence for each dance couple and what was the genre they dances to.

It’s one thing to see the dancers just performing, but seeing them live and being in utter stress and worry bout being kicked out. It really makes me feel for them. They announced the bottom four which were BIlly, Napi, Vivian and Zen.

The rest of the other dance contestants, were brought to stand where I was standing, now I know why they had that red tape at my foot. it was to give some space for th the dancers who were going to be watching their pals get eliminated.

Billy and Napi. One of them are bout to be eliminated. In the end Billy was the one picked to be out for the first episode. Too bad, but Napi really did deserve to stay. Ballroom was not Napi’s forte but at the same time the dance was just not happening for the Waltz he did with his partner. Billy’s Beat it Remix with his partner, was just alright. It was not great and i don’t fault him for that, he’s a good dancer but I think the choreography was not enough to bring out his potential. It’s very sad that he had to go on the first round.

When they had announced who were the bottom four after like 20 minutes of votes, which i think is really dumb. Honestly who will vote in 20 minutes. There is not enough time and in fact I couldn’t even hear that the voting process for elimination had already started.

After Billy had been the first to be eliminated, the other boys took a moment and had a group hug amongst themselves.

This is Samantha Yee, one of the contestants who also happened to be one of the dancers I danced with at Celestar Studio. She had probably the best bod in the class heheh and she’s still a on going strong dancer. Her dance was choreographed by Manuela Oliviera who I think is a fabulous dancer and choreographer. She has wonderful vision for the dancers and brings out the best in them.

Now so what can I say about SYTYCD Malaysia. Well first of, I’m glad that they are at least having the show here. But on another hand, the standard of dance is … quite well far apart with the ones I’ve been watching on the American version.

But hey the one thing that is still a strong point that I like about the show is that it allows those who have the passion to dance, to really express themselves here on this stage.

Probably I’m behind on this and it was already over months ago, I’m not too sure. But i just watched the last episode of The Celebrity Apprentice which is by far the best season ever of The Apprentice. Trump is really really one smart man and he handles himself extremely well to television viewers. I wrote about it here a while back.

Back to the last episode of The Apprentice Season 7 which ran for 13 episodes, I have to say it is the most dramatic season I’ve ever seen. First off maybe it’s because they are all celebrities and thats why they have to dramatise everything up. Either that or we can really say celebrities are always over the top in personality ^_P.

In the last episode we had Trace Adkins the famous country singer up against the fast witted and sharp tongued Piers Morgan. Trace Adkins is fighting for the FAAN (Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network), while Piers was fighting for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The whole season was fighting for a cause, and none of the causes are any less important than the other. However it is still a competition and each celebrity had to bring all they could to get the big prize money which was $250 000 for their charity.

The fight down to the two of them in the boardroom was a great one. See it was one major event where the two teams were to collaborate with one another and Trump would see who did a better job. In terms of the auction sales and ticket sales. That said I can’t help but give a lot of praise to Piers despite his nasty attitude he must have a nice streak in him somewhere. He is absolutely brilliant and terribly smart. He can really make money out of nothing, has great presentation skills, a brain of creative ideas popping out and not forgetting his Brit roots of strategic annihilation of the oponent.

Trace on the other hand, has a wonderful mannerism to him. A truly wonderful character which I am so glad is under God’s belt. I would sincerely like to believe that he is as nice as he is on television, because he is the epitome of every girl, lady and woman’s dream man. Charming to the core, gentle, handsome, sweet and intelligent….oh gosh his wife is so incredibly blessed. And on a plus plus plus note, he has a fantastic voice!!!!

Sadly though I have to agree with the fact, that as much as I wanted Trace to win, cause he’s such a great guy and he’s really fighting for a cause that he holds dear to his heart. Piers would win because the name of the game really does mean it’s all about business and business is about bringing in the money, which Piers can certainly do. I do wish that Trace could’ve won it so that FAAN could find a cure for his daughter who suffers from food allergies.

A bit more on the two noble charities.

Trace Adkins connection to FAAN (Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network):

Trace’s 6-year old daughter had a severe, life-threatening reaction to peanut butter when she was just 18 months old, an experience Trace called “terrifying.” His daughter also suffers from allergies to eggs and milk. Trace feels that research could lead to greater understanding of food allergies, and perhaps someday a cure.

Piers Morgans connection to Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund :

This charity particularly resonates with him because his brother has fought in 2 tours of duty in Iraq and his brother-in-law has fought in 2 tours of duty in Afghanistan. They both have lost several friends and comrades and Piers feels that this is a great charity to play for.

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. From 2000 to 2005 the Fund provided close to $20 million to families of United States military personnel lost in performance of their duty, mostly in service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In January 2007, the Fund completed construction of a $40 million world-class state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation center at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Click here for more information on the opening.. The “Center for the Intrepid” serves military personnel who have been catastrophically disabled in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and veterans severely injured in other operations and in the normal performance of their duties. The 60,000 square foot Center provides ample space and facilities for the rehabilitation needs of the patients and their caregivers. It includes state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation equipment and extensive indoor and outdoor facilities.
