Hanging at Kinokuniya

Went on to Kinokuniya at KLCC today while waiting for a movie. While browsing I noticed a ridiculous pair of thin thin thin glasses, that is thin enough to fit into my humongous long purse which I hate by the way, but I’m using it because cause I don’t have another option now. Anyways, I mean look at it! I don’t the least bit know how anyone can view something through such tinyyyy windows. Oh Oh… and I must talk about this. You know how brands are so all about themselves? Well I have never been an extreme fan of Espirit. But here they are, not only in the clothing line but now in the stationary ‘line’ as well. Check out what they have. Notebooks, little notebooks, medium notebooks, huge notebooks, calendars, puncher, stapler, organiser, planner, some date notifier, eraser….. eraser??? The one that really took the punch was their to-do list…. A to do list which you are going to write on and most likely waste that paper by throwing it away once your done with it.. cost a whopping RM33.00. Granted it’s quite a fair amount of paper… but helllooooo!!!?? I can use that 33 for at least what a weeks worth of parking. I wanted to take a snapshot of the photo album by Espirit too, which was simple cloth bounded photo album going at RM86… But needless to say I was stopped and told I can’t take any pictures… ummm.. ok…. I took it anyway. Then later on I was walking on through the pile of books, and was trying to figure am I in the mood for romance novel, chic lit, fantasy or historical fiction. Talk about extreme fickleness. I’m trying to get into the reading mode again, so I need to ease into it again slowly. In the end I settled for a historical book called “The Historian”. You know how they always have those who to be a better girl or how to be ladylike or some kinda book that has to do with “how-girl”… Guess what I found a boy version..Haha… how to be the macho man in the 21st century, by Thomas Fink. Interesting…. hmm. So how many males shall read this?

One Very Long Day

Monday… monday… sighhhh I hate Mondays!!! They are like the beginning of all sorts of bad things. Yes yes I’m trying to keep my chin up. Lets start of first, which was I didn’t feel very productive today. Then on top of that I didn’t manage to go to gym in the morning so blllehhhh, was feeling all sluggish. Had a meeting up in Damansara Uptown which was suppose to be at 1.30pm or so I thought according to the agenda. Then found out we don’t have to be there till 2.40pm. Which meant i coulddo gym during lunch hour. Unfortunately decided to finish off some work instead. Then finally when it was nearly time to go, thought there wouldn’t be a jam so left around 2.20, which should be alright. Turns out there was jam just in front of the office argh! So rushed like some speed demon, weaving in and out here there everywhere. Got honked at. Finally made it to the destination and guess what as I enter the carpark, got some ding dong sloooooow of the slooowwwww driver in front of me. Every turn he took, he took his time. Hellooooo I’m rushing!! As I rush to the basement 3 of the parking and into one bay, the guy also turns into the same bay. Well the bay in front me anyway. So it looked like we were going to the ‘chicken’ with a distance of 100cm. Oh yeah, my colleagues who left earlier arrived same time as me…. not bad. So rushed on up the elevator and into the 15th floor, cause thats where i was told to go. But there were two glass doors!! Which one!!! SO i just picked and asked someone and she pointed me to this conference room. I thought the meeting was already running and my colleagues were in so. The two big sliding doors, stood in front of me and I slid one open. Starred at the room and tried to look for my colleagues pixie haircut, as everyone else starred at me too… Nope nada.. Sorry… wrong room. Closed it and then went to the other glass door. Finally got to the right place and in the end.. the wrong room i went to was where i was suppose to go. Needless to say, Malaysian time affects and INFECTS everyone, to be late. So the meeting dragged for 3-4 hours. Sigh ok. Fine. Then on the way back. pondered. considered. Should I go home? Go to gym at Raintree? Go to gym at the Curve? Had a mine to not…then as I saw all the cars on the road… oh what the heck. It’ll be the jam anyways. So turned into the curve. As I got into the carpark though – Prasie The Lord! I found parking immediately at the door. While walking up said to myself to focus and just go gym don’t look at anything. Needless again to say. The first store as I came up from the escalator was…Nikewomen….Oh I lost it. Then finally after much starring.. I went to look for Fitness First. Great when I got in, it was packed. Went to the locker to change and waddyaa know…. No Top!!!! Arghhhhh! Had the pants and shoes… but no top!! What to do? Went out to Nike women and got something. Figured, I’m going to charge it anyway, might as well regret later. ohhh i regret and not regret at the same time. Found a top of my size, M… everything was S! What the hell!! I could fit the S but wow did it feel like I was in a corset. SO ok, found the top and found an interesting jacket cause no way was i walking out with no top and just the training top. And got a relay nice jacket now. SO feminine and sporty hehe. Thennnnnnnn.. couldn’t pay by card.. only cash!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Why me… so ok good thing i had pressed some cash at the ATM, had enough to pay for the top, least i got 10% off cause of Fitness First. That done ran to Nike to look for the jacket… Done! Then went to the gym. I was dropping and being such a clutz in the changing room. Sigh. Headed to the wave machine and guess what. Because of the number of people who are so inconsiderate there. The blasted handles were all STICKY!!!!EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW and Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! What is the matter with people and hygiene. It was soo disgusting but just went with it anyway. I wanted my workout!!!!!!! Didn’t seem to have enough energy. Only burnt like 210 calories and then went to do shoulders. The weights were so pathetic. Everything was HEAVY. With only ONE pair of 5 pounds and 2 pairs of 15 pounds. Sheeeeshh. FINALLY my day ended when i got home. I crashed…. And theeeennnn…. today started.. Hahaha… Had a much better workout. Yay! 250 calories in 17 mins and another measly 62 in what 7 mins? I couldn’t be bothered with that. But the weights was great, think i killed my butt and my tri. Ah well… BTW i confess.. i confess I’m compelte NIKE Addict. I’m totally in love with the brand. Damn Wieden and Kennedy.

New Pavillion at KL

The new Pavillion at Jalan Bukit Bintang has been up and running for about two weeks or so now. I finally got a chance to go during lunch hour and it’s a super duper posh place. Well quite posh anyway, as the signboard of Jaguar just glares at you from the outside and when you walk in all you see are Armani, Topshop, Gucci, Prada…. all the high end brands…which will kill your wallet. The Star article calls it a “new shopping experience”. Hellooo.. dudes we know it’s called branding! How different can one shopping experience be to another? Take for example Singapore. As you walk down the roads, the streets are practically vomiting with shopping malls….. ok weird way of expressing it but yeah! Anyway this is what it looks like and I’ve also placed a map in order to get there. The place is hugeeeee.. Think “The Island”… haha Looks kinds huge Looks like any kinds mall……. There is one store though which I do intend to visit again late – Kiehls which is supposedly owned by Loreal and is all naturale ingredient. Well it looks the part and yeap it also calls itself environmentally committed.. I shall see later on hehe. But the prices are killerrr!!!! As promised the map.

Ecostyle in Kuala Lumpur!!

Finally, Eco-fashion is coming to KL. FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY!!! I’m so happy. I’m definitely going to this event. Its already hard to find eco-products in Malaysia, but I’m glad that they are taking this step to explore on eco-fashion as well. The event will be held from what I saw on this site at KLCC convention centre on the 22nd of November. Yay, finally i will be able to look at some possible organic clothing. KUALA LUMPUR: Development plans in Malaysia take into account environmental sustainability with emphasis on preserving the country’s natural and cultural assets, said Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor. “Under the 9th Malaysia Plan, a more integrated approach to tourism planning and implementation will be undertaken to ensure sustainable development of the industry,” he said in his speech at ecoStyle 2007.

The text of his speech was read out by Tourism Ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr Victor Wee yesterday. EcoStyle, organised by NYC Inc and IMG Fashion, and supported by Tourism Malaysia and Earth Pledge, is an international event and Asia’s first dedicated programme that focuses on ecological sustainability and the environment through style and design. The ecoStyle Gala Fundraising Event, which will be held in Malaysia on Nov 22, is also part of the ecoStyle programme. It will feature a high-end fashion collection featuring the world’s leading designers whose creations have been made exclusively from environmentally-sustainable fabrics and textiles.

It is really too bad that I am not in San Francisco. Cause if I was i would attend this event which is on eco-fashion. I found this on Ecorazzi. Here’s the link to the actual article. Click Here. Happening on the 27th of September, it will be the biggest green shopping fiesta to date, organised by Appel and Frank, featuring tons of new green designers such as Hiroko Kurihara , Del Forte denim and Anna Cohen. InQBox at One Utama

While meeting up with the Monash bunch the other day, I came across this shop I’ve always wanted to check out called InQBox, located on the lower ground floor. And guess what I found eco-stuff! Whee!!

They had a label called “Shibby” and that was the recyclable product I was referring too. What I love about this place, is the fact that they are place, which allows young entrepreneurs to have a go and showing their talent and on top of that they support good causes.

New Nike Workout Top

I had gone to KLCC with Ari, to grab lunch and we went to check out some stuff at the Nike store. Then I saw this top, which had once been RM269 and was now RM159 (still painful!!!!), but I want and need it (or do i? hmm) Well I should really cap myself so that I don’t go spending anymore. Just after spending a fair bit on my Sony Player, I went out and bought this top. It was a complete impulse, but I have been having my eye on it for some time now. Can’t wait to go exercising with it! However I feel like I’m wearing a darn corset. And currently sad to say right now, i’m bursting out of it a tad bit, so lets see what happens in a coupla’ weeks. I’m gonna work my butt off to fit in it nicely. But i’m going to wear it till that point. You know for some of you out there, after you’ve done a good weight exercise, and you want to remove a top, it gets kinda hard because your arms are hurting like mad. In the words of Andy Amir “you get stuck”, lol. Isn’t it Lynn? ^_~ So yeah I figure to save me the hassle of removing allt he tight fitting tops after a good workout, might as well get a zipper one.

My Latest Toy From Sony

I have been contemplating this for quite a while, and finally i decided to get the Sony NW806 as my new video and mp3 player. As much as the price is going t kill me for the next 12 months (installment plan), I’m glad to say that I’m rather happy with it. Or extremely happy with it! Let me give the break down. I got this with 4gb of space, which is the average for a portable storage. I’m not going to listen to all of the songs in one shot but it’s nice to know that I have them with me. Also I get to watch video on this little black baby of mine. The two most important and coolest things about the walkman: Light (very good thumbs up) and EXCELLENT sound quality (all the thumbs that i can manage to put up) The sound quality of the walkman is absolutely fantastic. Great forblocking out everything and just zoning out to music land. The other bonus with the walkman are the ear plugs. Light, black and most of all COMFORTABLE. While I’m enjoying the music and player capabilities of my sony. Giden loves the earplugs that fit snugly in ones ears.
