While surfing around today, one of my friends shared this on facebook. This is the most viewed and shared short on the Film Festival : Green Unplugged.
This film was shot by Ferdinand Dimadura. In short it talks about how the lack of food and poverty has been effected by globalization. There are 10,000 people dying everyday due to hunger and malnutrition. This short film shows a forgotten portion of the society. The people who live on the refuse of men to survive. What is inspiring is the hope and spirituality that never left this people.
I really do not have much to say on it, because all i feel is sympathy and can only feel thankful for what I have in life. It amazes me how in our own life we worry so much about the trivial things when there are harder situations out there in the world.

Trace’s 6-year old daughter had a severe, life-threatening reaction to peanut butter when she was just 18 months old, an experience Trace called “terrifying.” His daughter also suffers from allergies to eggs and milk. Trace feels that research could lead to greater understanding of food allergies, and perhaps someday a cure. Vision and MissionPiers Morgans connection to Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund :

This charity particularly resonates with him because his brother has fought in 2 tours of duty in Iraq and his brother-in-law has fought in 2 tours of duty in Afghanistan. They both have lost several friends and comrades and Piers feels that this is a great charity to play for. The thing about HIV/AIDS, is the approach that the government or certain bodies have been using all this while. THey are trying to nip in the bud which is by preventing the young ones from having sex. The very sad truth is this. The young ones are experimenting and they are probably not virgins anymore. They are active in their sexual life (some not all) and this proves a problem, because since they are young, they may not know what are the necessary precautions that should be made when they have sex. Worse still, is especially for the girls, they may fell obligated to do so as the male counterpart tells her to lay down with him. Some girls or women for that matter, don’t even know that they have a right to say NO to not wanting sex. Whats even sadder is the way how people who have AIDS/HIV are ostracized from the community, like as if they have become a leper. For those who wish to know more, listen to people with real experiences on AIDS and make new friends… Oh yeah did I mention that there are also some pretty cool prizes to be won? Head to UPM and talk part, listen to the conference.
