This year, this World Cup, has got to be my most memorable one yet. I can finally get back to proper sleeping “disorders” haha. It all started with just a simple audition and a meet up. Then next thing you know there I am giving match predictions for the most highly anticipated and watched sport of all time. Now i just have to wait for 3 years or rather 1414 days till the next World Cup in Brazil.. hehe. The experience has been amazing. The support, encouragement, feedback and people have been wonderful at Astro. The team – if i could make a hand gesture like how the Italians do when they find the food just magnifique -  is just “mwuah”. Oh oh and it makes even cooler that you get to meet people such as the ever cool Abbas Saad (ex Australia International player) and of course Lee Sharpe (ex Manchester United winger and England player) whoooooaaaa. So let’s just show some shots on my last day of predicting. Of course that was the nail biting end Spain vs Holland. Both teams never won the World Cup before. So that night history was made. So I’m really honored that I got to be a part of World Cup history. In my own way.. let me just bask in it for a minute and think how cool it is hehe :P Moving on to pictures of from the Third Place match and the World Cup Final

Last night I went to a friends house to watch the Manchester United Match versus Aston Villa. Ever since Man United played against Liverpool at Old Trafford a couple of weeks ago, the team has been maybe having a very hard time. With a terrible and painful lost to Liverpool at 1-4, the team lost the following match as well to Fulham.

Oh the pain of hearing all sorts of slanders from the other teams. Then last night came. With heavy hearts, we watched the match and hoped for worse. Originally after the first goal by Christiano Ronaldo, our spirits started to soar.. but once Aston scored back and not just once but twice. We all started saying, ok let’s make it 1-3, meaning we were expecting Aston to score another goal. Then came the 80 minute and Ronaldo made it 2-2. Ohhhhh that got our hearts pumping and causing all sorts of weird palpitations to our blood stream.

We figured that at least it would be a draw. That was until a little onion head kid wearing the jersey 41 appeared.

macheda

We all started wondering why Fergie would put this new kid in this game, which was so crucial, with our defence completely shattered and the main strikers not in the game… What was Fergie thinking???? But ok ok calm calm.. you should always trust Fergie’s call.

It was down to the stoppage time and it was 5 minutes.. Oh thank God it was five minutes. Both teams were fighting for the last goal. This was it. It’s a draw or win. What would you push for? Ryan Giggs assisted the ball and all of a sudden this onion haired kid came out of nowhere and he SCORED A GOAL!!!!!! it was a 3-2… OMGOSHHHHHHH Yesss!!!!!!!!

Just watch the video. Just WATCH this little wonder kid.

And I will never make fun of his hair or his name again.

His name is Federico ‘Kiko’ Macheda. And don’t knock him, like we did. We were all just talking of how for all we know he could be a Santiago Munez like from the movie “Goal”. Never did we think, he would actually BE  a Santiago Munez and score during the stoppage time, during his debut and during a crucial turn around for the team. Like OH MY GOSH!!!! It was just like in the movie. Read more about the real version of Santiago Munez : Federico ‘Kiko’ Macheda at the ManunitedYouth blog.

To say a big thank you to this kid who saved us all, I want to share a video :P

I found this video.. ok fine… Mister G found this video. And while the words are not exactly the nicest thing ever but…it’s funny…. Now I just found it.. so don’t shoot me. Shoot the person who created it. This song requires a lot of censoring :P

I’m not saying you have to sing to it.. but here are the lyrics for you Man United fans out there.

Since being in Penang, I spent a good amount of time with the screen lol. While scrolling during eating time, I came across a game that has been rising in the ranks of popularity. It’s a combo of American Football, Basketball and Ice Hockey. It’s fierce, fast, tough and ooooohhh it just looks to cool. I’m talking about SLAMBALL!! Bit of history here.  Slamball is the creation of Mason Gordon, who wanted to create a combination of sports that approximated a real-life video game. It is a team sport based on basketball. It was first played in 2001 but has reached international popularity not too long ago.

Points are scored by playing the ball through the net, as in basketball, though the point-scoring rules are modified. The main differences from the parent sport is the court; below the padded basketball rim and backboard are fourtrampolines set into the floor which serve to launch players to great heights for slam dunks. The rules also permit some physical contact between the members of the four-player teams.

Scoring in Slamball is achieved by passing the ball into the net at the opponent’s end of the court for points, while preventing the opposing team from doing the same at one’s own net. The goal is ultimately to have outscored the opposing team when the game ends. A successful score can be worth two points if the ball is thrown through the hoop without the offensive player touching the hoop. Slam dunks are scored three points. All shots outside three-point arc are worth three points as well.

Professional SlamBall games were aired on television by Spike TV for two seasons in 2002 - 2003, and the POWERade SlamBall Challenge was aired on CSTV in 2007. SlamBall returned in August 2008[1], and is aired on Versus and CBS.

It’s seriously some wicked and sick game! It’s totally rough and yet it feels so invigorating. Each time someone slamdunks a ball into the hoop it’s like… WhoaaaaaAAAAOOOOoooo…. If this and X games sport, I wanna watch it. Looks mightily difficult to play it to you. Your calves have to be so strong just to push your self off the trampoline. Man it’s just scary even thinking about it.
I forgot to blog about this that day. I was tired so I put it to one side. It was one the biggest showdowns for the end of the year. Manchester United vs Liverpool football match started at 9.25 pm our Malaysian time. Me and Giden had gone to TTDI to meet up with his friends to watch the match. I also asked Mike to join us in our football match meet up. Unfortunately for one of Giden’s friends.. who also happens to be his boss… everyone else was a Man. United fan and not a Liverpool. Hey! not my fault that Man United has more supporters. Anyway we me at Eckywoobee – the sports?cafe …… img_1152_resize.JPG Now why of all names they named it that I have no idea.. and why the “?” in the middle of their name is also beyond my comprehension. and the menu?? img_1153_resize.JPG Food price is normal. Service is NOT fantabulous. I had the Ecky Sandwich which I think they should rename it to ICKY sandwich. It had nothing much in i, the meat was some sort of slice up pathetic piece of bacon was barely even noticed by my tongue. Giden had the Jumbo Burger. It’s big, but while it looks nice…. img_1156_resize.jpg It is far from the mouth salivating burger that it should be. The meat patty was just huge and crumbly… I mean literally crumbly! When you bite into, cut into .. whatever into it, it just broke into bits and pieces…. nice. And the fries… they took forever to get to our table. In all fairness I think it is still too new and not ready for the big crowd that normal mamaks can handle for football season. The company was pretty good hehhe.. All Man United fans.. lookie! img_1155_resize.JPG The game was fairly alright, and Giden will always say that I don’t concentrate on the game. Partially true! But hey I’m thereto support the team man. How can you not support a team with such fantastic players and with a manager like Fergusan…although I do kinda think the football got more interesting when Mourinho was still around. The Liverpool players had marked good ol’ Ronaldo well till he was just quiet throughout most of the game. Liverpool may have been controlling the game all the way with Van der Sar having some butter finger problems here and there. In the end though guess who won… img_1157_resize.JPG The clapping people means Manchester United won.. Soo ha ha ha ha ha! Which managed to make Man U top of the table….I hope it stays that way too. …. Crap just saw the score… Arsenal is back on top! Sigh… And now a song…

Glory Glory Man United.. Glory Glory Man United.. And the Saints go Marching on! Ah well…. But the location was very nice. It reminded me a lot of Clark Quay in Singapore… check out what it looks like inside the shoplots area. The cafe we were at, was just one of the many shops that was shown on the outside facing the street. This is the inside of TTDI. img_1164_resize.JPG img_1166_resize.JPG Quite nice eh… makes a good hang out spot.
Well I’m taking back the gym routine again, which is great and a lot of fun. So yesterday I made a drop at GNC to buy some supplements, since I’m lacking in protein for repairing the muscles I tore. Also I decided to drop hydroxycut (The slimming pill from GNC) since I felt that iw as not only not getting the results stated but because it was just giving me some negative effects. Like spinning head, slight dizziness, so figure it’s best to stop taking the pills. SO instead I spent around a good RM200plus on protein powder called Syntha-6, chocolate flavour and on anti-fatigue caplets by muscle tech. The protein powder is meant mostly for after workout to repair your so torn muscles. Taste is pretty good, especially when mixed with a good milo. Don’t mix with milk, I think you’ll have a an over dose of sweetness. I took to cups of cold milo with a good spoonful of it. By the way the spoon, if you get Syntha-6, it is stupidly buried in the middle of the bottle. I hadn’t realised until after i was pouring it out into a different container.

Here’s my new protein shake, I love the bottle. I’m going to turn it into a lamp when I’m through with it. Originally I wanted creatine, since I want to go back to doing the explosive workouts, like plyometrics to give me the extra push. But after much persuasion, I went for Gakic, the anti-fatigue caplets. It’s a heck of a price at RM538 for 128 caplets. The dosage for men in US is round 8 caplets (my gosh!!!!) per day and only while exercising.

Males: my friend whom I’m sharing it with, started off with two caplets. Females: the lady at the store recommended to start it off with just half a caplet per session and then work your way to slowly to 1. I took 1 on the first day, just to give an extra kick. So results? Well cardio wise, there was not much kick, however during the weight training period. We seemed to have quite a fair bit too keep pushing. In all fairness, if we hadn’t gone for an hour on cardio alone I think the muscles could have still been able to push more iron, or more reps in my case. I wanna be lean not mean. Hehehe. SO that was day one, but lets see what happens with the rest of the month with Gakic.
