I’ve just watched the finale of the TV Series Dexter and I just have to share something here. I am an absolute fan of Dexter and for anyone following me on Twitter you can see my tweets have been flooded with my rants on the Season 4 finale along with links to articles about the show. So now what I’m going to do is embed the live video chat that is going on live on ustream with John Lithgow the biggest baddest villain on Dexter.. and probably the most horrifying serial killer on television.

The brilliance of the actors and writers is something to be awed about. I just cannot get enough from this show.John Lithgow playing this psychopath killer with a conscience to want it to end was absolutely brilliant.

Michael C. Hall is beyond any words – how he comes of as a killer hidden beneath a sweet guy and tries to keep a family together was played wonderfully.

Jennifer Carpenter to go from one roller coaster emotion – seeing her lover again, watching him die, have someone kill themself in front or her… it is endless. Big kudos to her for brilliant work.

A special mention has to be given to Julie Benz who has left the cast. She’s been a wonderful character to watch as her character was the solid and grounding rock that brought about so much change to Dexter. We will miss her terribly.

To wait for nine months for the next season is going to be absolute torture.

I just read this article on TV.com. It states that there is the possibility that the infamous Idol judge – sent-to-tear-apart-young-contestants-to-shreds – may end his time being on the show. According to the news his schedule has finally caught up with him. Read TV.com article.

He may just sit behind a desk and give witty sarcastic disdainful remarks to contestants, but that is all hard work! If not for his guidance, probably people would not know how to vote for actual singers. His guidance was so ‘good’ people started a group to purposely vote for the lousy singers.

For what it’s worth, his stinging comments are true! And its because of the truthness in it, that’s why it’s funny. To me anyway its funnier than the people who come in and are made fools of, just for the 15 minute to fame.

Besides who does not love the wonderful banter between Ryan Seacrest and the American Idol judge. Lol. I always get a good laugh when I watch Ryan diss Simon in all sorts of manners. You gotta watch this video on how it all started.

So would I like it if Simon left. No!

Would I watch the show if he left. No!

Would i bother encouraging others to watch it if he left. No!

Come on he’s all real and that’s cool

Yesterday was Disney reminiscence day. And that was a lot of fun. Would be great to hear what are other’s peoples thoughts on their favourite Disney movie. Do you remember the days when Saturday was the day to relax, have fun, laze about with either a bowl of your favourite cereal or junk food. Then enjoy that by turning on the morning tube to catch your favourite cartoons. Yeah I remember doing just that, and I remember I would need to tape them because my saturday mornings required me to drag myself to ballet classes.

I miss those simple 2d cartoon days. Sure the animations have improved, but in those days the stories were simple. You knew the stark contrast between the good guy and the bad guy. Furthermore, they didn’t try to be smart. I find that the cartoons of the current generation now, tend to be a lot smarter or they try to be. Not so straight forward anymore.

Anyway, today my friend played me a song from his phone. Can you recall where these lyrics come from..

Thunder..

Thunder..

Thunder..

Thunder cats ho!!!!

Hahaha, yeah so today it’s looking at the TV Shows of the 80s. I’m going to show you a video and let’s see if you can guess the name of each clip. Altogether I think there are about 21 cartoons. So let’s see whether you could guess as many as I did hehe. Even the background music is that of the 80s by Bonnie Clyde, hehe.

Then I found an even cooler video that shows 56 cartoons that we remember very well, but just forgot because of the age of time. lol. Check out this one. The background music is from Transformers the movie, which came out last year, but it is still a kick ass song.

These are the cartoons featured in the video. Woot!

Ever since all the TV series started coming back, I have been on a mad mad MAD frenzy of watching a number of them. Trying to catch up with what I’m already behind in and catching up with shows that I still haven’t watched (such as Heroes – Yes i KNOW, but later!)

On to more important business. The TV shows I’m watching now and I’m giving yet another big warning out there. SPOILER ALERT. Extreme spoiler alert for those of you who happen to watch the following shows:

Grey’s Anatomy

Gossip Girl

Lost

House

How I Met Your Mother

Grey’s Anatomy

I have just found on Grey’s Anatomy Insider that there is a Grey’s Anatomy Writers Blog! Woots so which means I can read up more on whats going on in the minds of the writers. Each entry has a massive amount of comments and there was which was 700+ over and that took a really long while to load.

The amount of drama that is going on is crazy. I honestly believe that it doesn’t matter but people just reading the script will get frustrated. Especially with the Meredith, Derek and Rose triangle! My gosh! It’ ridiculous and I hate the fact that Derek is with Rose!

I was frustrated last year because I felt we weren’t going anywhere with the Derek and Meredith relationship so it would be nice if she got over her fear of commitment and they got married quickly and then are left dealing with new issues, or her being pregnant. Hopefully we’ve got lots of time to explore all that! – Patrick Dempsey.

Even Patrick Dempsey who seems to be the man of year with movies like Enchanted and Made of Honour under his belt making him the first man to be picked for romance movies. You can read the full interview here.

Oooh and there seems to be some homo stuff that’s going on. Between Callie Torres and Dr Erica Hahn, whoa!!! I don’t know what is going on, but there was one episode

Gossip Girl

Now on to Gossip Girl and where you have a GA insider, you also have a GG insider – Gossip Girl Insider. ^_^

I’m ready to scream from another bit of drama overload! Dan(Penn Badgley) and Serena (Blake Lively) are having some issues with their relationship all because of Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) who happens btw to have played the little sister of Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tv Series. She did a marvelous job and being the b**** she was suppose to play.

But aiyoooooooo Dan is one ding dong. You have a darling who is as sweet as Serena, and he’s willing to throw it away. Then again, it is Serena’s fault because she decided to be all secretive in the first place. (Ok fine it’s very over dramatised but it’s fun to watch – especially Blair [Leighton Meester] ) By the way, Penn and Blake are confirmed a couple, which is so adorable, you would definitely see it happening.

And according to GGI, it seems Nate (Chace Crawford) and Vanessa broke(Jessica Szohr) up? Ngeh? When did that happen. I find that a speculation. Vanessa is probably the most gorgeous girl on GG. Her eyes just burn man.

Oh and to make matter worse i just saw the last episode of Season 1 – episode 18. Why are doing this!! Oh man! First that was a HUUUGGE break just after episode 13 and then they continued and now you’re telling me that that’s it for the season?? Come on.. I know the crew wants a holiday and all.. but heck, continue with the show!!! Pwetty please, don’t torture us… sniff….

Lost

Getting more intense here, especially with the news that the show will end in 2010. Lost has just another 2 more seasons left if I’m not mistaken. Currently now (Season 4) they are on the path where they find out they have to get back on to the island. Season 5 will explore how they are going to get back to the island and the final one Season 8 will show the reason why they need to be back on the island. Ooooo tension.

Now I know a number of people find that they will get lost with Lost (that line is getting so old, and people still like it, sheesh). Right now, we have found out that they have managed to get off the island but only 5 people seemed to have survived and been rescued. They are Jack (Matthew Fox), Kate(Evangeline Lilly), Sayid (Naveen Andrews), Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Hurley (Jorge Garcia). You know what I love most about this show is how they involve all races in this show, you have the Westerns and the Asians. So cool! That said though, reading on interviews with the actors, you can’t help but feel that the producers are monsters, cause you just never know when you are going to get bumped on the show, lol. The comforting part is that you never know when they will also consider bringing you back, check out Jack’s dad. There’s tons of mysteries around the man.

How I Met Your Mother

OK last one I promise. Well if you follow the show thoroughly, How I Met Your Mother is a brilliant piece of work.

Not just for it’s witty slapstick comedy which is right on target by all the actors. Is it any wonder at all that this show is given high rating. Story revolves around Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) who tells his kids of how he met their mom. In a very very very long story, i’m surprised the kids are not snoring in the seats, which is of course a big laugh for us watching. In Ted’s story, there are a few people who matter the most to him being the lovey dovey so sick to your tooth Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily – so glad to see Alyson Hannigan in another Tv Series, the rich don juan of the show who was slept with to many girls it’s unreal Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and lastly the sweet ex-Canadian pop star ex- Ted’s girlfriend Robin (Cobie Smulders).

The cast is brilliant and the editing more so. You will notice the amount of flashbacks begin with something happening in scene and then a freeze followed by older Ted’s voice (Bob Saget) telling the story. Nice to see new comers in to the TV industry and it’s really heartfelt story.Though it may remind people of Friends a bit here and there. Just go watch the show. Oh and a few episodes ago they had an auction to raise money for children check it out here at lilyandmarshallselltheirstuff.com.

You can find a bunch of cool stuff such as: meeting the cast on the set, a signed autographed script by them and the weird ass boots that Ted thinks he can pull off that is G-Kwuak approved. Oh note, Britney Spears made a TV comeback by guest starring on the show (do you think this will improve or worsen her reputation).

Ok that’s it I promised!

I don’t always blog about American Idol and if anything I lost most of my interest for the show the season they had Sanjay going nearly all the way to the top. But this I had to blog about because after last nights performance with Mariah Carey week (meaning the contestants all get a one on one with her on singing) one person really stood out for me in the crowd.

David Cook!

Now all of you out there maybe rooting for the cute and talented David Archuleta. I don’t blame you. He’s got the voice of an angel and the cutest babyface that will make your heart melt. But despite all that, the other David has got it made for him.

Now that’s extreme talent. So far I’ve seen him sing Billie Jean by pop sensation Michael Jackson and Always Be My Baby by the queen of singing Mariah Carey. Both of the songs while, they are definitely David Cooks own rendition, he will do the two famous singers proud. The girls did I will say terribly last night in the Mariah Carey episode. I’m sorry but when you try to sing like Mariah Carey, you’re going to be compared terribly. David Cook made a 360 degree turn for the Mariah Carey song, giving it his own rocking edge to it. Which works and also because no one will recognise it.

Have a look.

Always Be My Baby. Like whoaaaaa

This is his version of Billie Jean.

My bets are he’s going to win the whole competition. With America’s flavour for rock and country music, he’s bound to get the votes. Not to mention he’s got looks too, everything needed for a potential professional singer.

Probably I’m behind on this and it was already over months ago, I’m not too sure. But i just watched the last episode of The Celebrity Apprentice which is by far the best season ever of The Apprentice. Trump is really really one smart man and he handles himself extremely well to television viewers. I wrote about it here a while back.

Back to the last episode of The Apprentice Season 7 which ran for 13 episodes, I have to say it is the most dramatic season I’ve ever seen. First off maybe it’s because they are all celebrities and thats why they have to dramatise everything up. Either that or we can really say celebrities are always over the top in personality ^_P.

In the last episode we had Trace Adkins the famous country singer up against the fast witted and sharp tongued Piers Morgan. Trace Adkins is fighting for the FAAN (Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network), while Piers was fighting for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The whole season was fighting for a cause, and none of the causes are any less important than the other. However it is still a competition and each celebrity had to bring all they could to get the big prize money which was $250 000 for their charity.

The fight down to the two of them in the boardroom was a great one. See it was one major event where the two teams were to collaborate with one another and Trump would see who did a better job. In terms of the auction sales and ticket sales. That said I can’t help but give a lot of praise to Piers despite his nasty attitude he must have a nice streak in him somewhere. He is absolutely brilliant and terribly smart. He can really make money out of nothing, has great presentation skills, a brain of creative ideas popping out and not forgetting his Brit roots of strategic annihilation of the oponent.

Trace on the other hand, has a wonderful mannerism to him. A truly wonderful character which I am so glad is under God’s belt. I would sincerely like to believe that he is as nice as he is on television, because he is the epitome of every girl, lady and woman’s dream man. Charming to the core, gentle, handsome, sweet and intelligent….oh gosh his wife is so incredibly blessed. And on a plus plus plus note, he has a fantastic voice!!!!

Sadly though I have to agree with the fact, that as much as I wanted Trace to win, cause he’s such a great guy and he’s really fighting for a cause that he holds dear to his heart. Piers would win because the name of the game really does mean it’s all about business and business is about bringing in the money, which Piers can certainly do. I do wish that Trace could’ve won it so that FAAN could find a cure for his daughter who suffers from food allergies.

A bit more on the two noble charities.

Trace Adkins connection to FAAN (Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network):

Trace’s 6-year old daughter had a severe, life-threatening reaction to peanut butter when she was just 18 months old, an experience Trace called “terrifying.” His daughter also suffers from allergies to eggs and milk. Trace feels that research could lead to greater understanding of food allergies, and perhaps someday a cure.

Piers Morgans connection to Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund :

This charity particularly resonates with him because his brother has fought in 2 tours of duty in Iraq and his brother-in-law has fought in 2 tours of duty in Afghanistan. They both have lost several friends and comrades and Piers feels that this is a great charity to play for.

Vision and Mission

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. From 2000 to 2005 the Fund provided close to $20 million to families of United States military personnel lost in performance of their duty, mostly in service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In January 2007, the Fund completed construction of a $40 million world-class state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation center at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Click here for more information on the opening.. The “Center for the Intrepid” serves military personnel who have been catastrophically disabled in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and veterans severely injured in other operations and in the normal performance of their duties. The 60,000 square foot Center provides ample space and facilities for the rehabilitation needs of the patients and their caregivers. It includes state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation equipment and extensive indoor and outdoor facilities.

This is the problem when you watch TV series. You just can’t wait for the next episode and I know a number of you can related. Take for example someone’s Kiasu-ness on Grey’s Anatomy. Will the obsessive one please stand up .

I am one, i’d think, of the few people out of my entire circle of friends who actually bothers watching Lost and keeping up with their latest shows. I think the show is brilliant! Minus the fact that sometimes I’d like to kill myself because I have to wait for the next episode, which leaves me with tons of suspense and anxiety to know what comes next. But hey that’s good television on one hand.

I really really am in love with this show, and I want to be on something like this at least ONCE in my lifetime! Just once.. once! Then I can die happy.

What I love so much about the show, is how each actor has built a ‘character’ for their character. They bring them to life so nicely throughout the entire series. You learn to love some, you learn to be suspicious and you most of all it brings you to a point where, who can you really trust in that close circle which one would call friends. Who are those who will stick by you and who of those will let you down or backstab you in the end. Ohhhh the drama! The actors actually bought houses there on Hawaii the set of Lost because it was such a long shoot. But sad news is that two years from now it’s going to come to a closure.Pretty much it works like this. Season 1-3 they are trying to get off the island. Season 4 they realise they need to get back to the island. Season 5 explains why they need to get back to the islan. Lastly Season 6 tells what happens when they do get back on to the island… Ouch my brain!

I forgot to share this, but take a look. I found this on Youtube. The audition tapes of the Lost cast. Whoooa! See how Evangeline Lilly, plays out her character Kate and same goes for Matthew Fox who tried out for the role of Sawyer before being casted for Jack.

Hey it’s their job and they don’t even know what happens, in future episodes.

You know out of all the reality shows that I have watched on TV – or my computer for that matter. There has got to be only one show in my entire life that I think is most rewarding and inspiring to watch. And that is So You Think You Can Dance.

Reason i say this is because, unlike American Idol which is of course a joy to watch too.. but I have found it, in a way becoming to commercialise (where I am not to keen to see what people do anymore because they are more keen on getting on tv to make fool of themself, like this dude.

I mean what the heck???

What i love so much about the show is that not only do you actually learn about different variations of dance, but you get to see the people who really put their heart and sole into something they love so much. And that touches me, they practically breathe the air called dance and they enjoy living every moment of it. Dance is probably one of my most favourite means of expression other than actual paintings and writing. To see how the human body is contorted into all sorts of manner to express a story. Is simply amazing.

When people ask why do some of us bother so much with the art. Well i want you then to take a look at these young people who fight and work so hard because of their passion for dance. Best part of it all is that they are going to make or can make a living of this joy. Isn’t that just great!?

I couldn’t find a group picture of the rest, but you get my drift. A bunch of talented and passionate performers.

Furthermore, the inspiration that you get from just watching these people… is more than I shall ever get from watching other so called Reality shows. So You Think You Can Dance for me really speaks about the right kind of attitude that people should have when they want to do something. You don’t have the Diva-ish manner that you get from shows like America’s Next Top Model…well at least they haven’t shown it anyway and even the judges said there is none. Over the past episodes of SYTYCD the dancers have just gotten better and better, there is no plateu so far.

And I will say that I absolutely love the judging panel on SYTYCD. What I love so much, (even if it is fake), that they care about the community of nurturing the arts scene even more. They want to see people grow and build succesful careers and become artistic legends in the making.

If you really really like something, work hard at it and your passion will just shine through. This goes for anything at all
