A day like this doesn’t always happen. A day that all Chinese people will celebrate and also a day that young couples, old couples and wannabe couples will proclaim their “love” to one another.

Yeap this 14th February. We will all be celebrating Chinese New Year collecting lots of ang pows and we will be using up those ang pows later in the day to pamper our chosen person for Valentine’s Day.

Before the day ends, I just want to wish everyone.

Birth of Google Nexus One

A couple of days ago, i raved about how I want a Google Nexus. Then after filtering through some tweets and Mashable posts. I came across this wonderful video by Google of how Google Nexus One came to be

I don’t know about the rest of you. I thoroughly enjoy watching how things form As in how an idea first came to be. Then how someone took that idea and gave it a shape. After giving it a shape they then make it into a reality… yeah i’m such a nerd in that respect. And to think i didn’t like history in my school days.

and yes yes i know this story has been floating about for some times and i’m only sharing it now.. yes yes.. you still can’t stop me from sharing it. heehee

iPad Overly Hyped and A Mockery

Interesting things that happened since the launch of the iPad from this morning. Firstly I was looking on my tweetdeck. Let’s just say at that point in time, there were tons of people tweeting and updating their statuses on Facebook as Steve Jobs revealed the iPad. Shortly after though, there were also comment on how it is over hyped and over priced.

I’m all for Apple products because it really knows how to place itself in the market. Good technology and good branding means good sales. However I wonder what Apple was thinking when he named it the iPad? I mean in our asian culture parents always make it a point to usually name their child with something that is not easy to make fun of.

A name like the iPad? I personally preferred it when it was named the iTablet.

So much so that i found this video on youtub. A little mockery of the iPad. Have a good laugh hehe

Dexter Live Video Chat

I’ve just watched the finale of the TV Series Dexter and I just have to share something here. I am an absolute fan of Dexter and for anyone following me on Twitter you can see my tweets have been flooded with my rants on the Season 4 finale along with links to articles about the show. So now what I’m going to do is embed the live video chat that is going on live on ustream with John Lithgow the biggest baddest villain on Dexter.. and probably the most horrifying serial killer on television. The brilliance of the actors and writers is something to be awed about. I just cannot get enough from this show.John Lithgow playing this psychopath killer with a conscience to want it to end was absolutely brilliant. Michael C. Hall is beyond any words – how he comes of as a killer hidden beneath a sweet guy and tries to keep a family together was played wonderfully. Jennifer Carpenter to go from one roller coaster emotion – seeing her lover again, watching him die, have someone kill themself in front or her… it is endless. Big kudos to her for brilliant work. A special mention has to be given to Julie Benz who has left the cast. She’s been a wonderful character to watch as her character was the solid and grounding rock that brought about so much change to Dexter. We will miss her terribly. To wait for nine months for the next season is going to be absolute torture.

On Sunday I meet up with Tech Idiots to guest on their show. I’ve always been keen to go on some tech show, and portray how geeky i am And well.. i’ll just say i was surprised lol. With two funny guys, who love their tech and just want to share their knowledge in the most laymen of ways to others. Tech Idiots is produced by Kelvin Lim (PR dude from Fleishman-Hillard) and Wern Shen (editor of Lowyat.net).

So far Tech Idiots:Uncensored have only made 6 episodes – me being in the 6th ep. They are working boys so forgive them if they can’t make a video everyday. I was there i saw the tedious process just to make the short 13 minutes ok.

Needless to say it was very impromptu but i had loads of fun doing the show with them. Even more so when Wern Shen allowed me to play with the PS3 Need For Speed: Shift… I suck at it but hey i tried.

While surfing around today, one of my friends shared this on facebook. This is the most viewed and shared short on the Film Festival : Green Unplugged.

This film was shot by Ferdinand Dimadura. In short it talks about how the lack of food and poverty has been effected by globalization. There are 10,000 people dying everyday due to hunger and malnutrition. This short film shows a forgotten portion of the society. The people who live on the refuse of men to survive. What is inspiring is the hope and spirituality that never left this people.

I really do not have much to say on it, because all i feel is sympathy and can only feel thankful for what I have in life. It amazes me how in our own life we worry so much about the trivial things when there are harder situations out there in the world.

Take A Bow Rewritten

It’s been a while since I surfed on youtube, just to check out what new stuff has been going on in the video realm. But since I uploaded my Wade Robson videos i’ve been constantly checking out youtube. See my youtube account has been banned a couple of times, now.. for reasons I shall not mention. Hence all the people I had subscribed to have been erased. Meaning I’ve got to go around searching for these ‘directors’, comedians and whoever and subscribe all over again. If you don’t want to read my babble.. just go straight to video below. One of the people I enjoyed watching a lot then in my spare time last year was HappySlip. I did write about her once too in this blog post -… ok neverming.. seems that blog post is gone.. must’ve disappeared when I had some trouble bringing over my blog to the new webhost. Anyway I did mention her before. She is a wonderfully talented, lovely comedian, who is seriously making herself known all over the workd now. Simply because she loves to make people smile. Well she made me smile again this afternoon. You know that song by Rihanna “Take a Bow”? Ok no disrespect to Rihanna, but I have always found that while I like her tunes, I don’t exactly like her lyrics. She’s got talent yes, unique voice check but I just can’t stand the messages that comes out of her songs. Her tunes are lovely but then when you get to the words (which is like a major part of a song other than the melody) it’s like….. nggyyyeeekk? Just like her other song “Unfaithful”. Yeah ok maybe some people do go through what she sings. But… just not my cup of tea, even if the music is nice. Here she sings about why she doesn’t want to be unfaithful anymore because it’s killing her man. Like a duh!!! Of course it’ll hurt the other and of course one should feel guilty. Sidetracking a bit. Just listening to the original song and Happyslip’s verison. And for enthusiasts… these are the lyrics. Since I couldn’t find a title to it. I’ll just call it this

Aren’t there enough breka ups as it is in the world. Listening to this, was something fresh and hopefully it’ll be fresh for you guys too. Speaking of relationships and fresh things. Kids Say The Darndest Things Part 1

I was just going around hoping about on Youtube and I found this video, of this young kid who tells his mom that if she wants him to love her well you gotta give him a lil sumthin… It’s just so cute. Since when do kids speak that well at that age???? Ok I haven’t seen a kid in our country yet that speaks and articulates him/herself as well as some of the babies I’ve just seen on Youtube. Wow adorable! Kid’s really say the darndest things lol. I think I am going to start one particular series which I’m going to entitle in my categories as Kids Yapplings which will be a compilation of all the funny stuff i see on babies or young ones close to that age. Nuffnang Pajama Party – Part 3

Here are the videos people! I totally forgot that once uploaded on youtube to post them here. A continuation from Nuffnang Pajama Party Part 1 and Nuffnang Pajama Party Part 2 The first video was when two blogger had a Nurse and French Maid on their back… ouuucch.. can someone please tell me their names? And the names of the Nurse and French Maid too. Liang is just so funnny… Tweeennnnnnttty Five…. Twwwwwwwwweeeennnnttyy Six… Talk about encouragement haah The next video was when the game of find the couple was played. Before entering the party, everyone got asked this question single or taken.. eh? Then you are assigned some sort of wrist band with a name from one of the famous couples in history. Like Adam and Eve, Romeo and Juliet, Hans Solo and Princess Leia… and so on. So the first round was where the a couple named had to quickly grab their partner and run on the stage. E.g. Hans Solo and Princess Leia… then a couple with those names on the wrist have to run to the stage. The second round was to gather as many of the couples or individuals that got the same band. So all the Hans Solo and all the Princess Leias’ combined. like so… it was utter chaos The last video I managed to take was the one of the boss getting their umm… underwear gifts and boss stewie how come your pants are lopsided ? They are such great sports.

Oh my goshhh soo cuuteee…You’d think they would have something better to teach her then to start how to say “Watevvahh” with eyes rolling and even the hand!! Hahaha the hand! BTW she’s all grown up now… and if you are anything like my boyfriend he was busy trying to check the girl behind the camera. He says she has a hot voice… ****eyes rolling and … sweeeeattttt*** Ah well…
