Ok I’m giving a go on this one. I had joined YouthSays not too long ago, because I saw either a message from a friend who happens to work in YouthMalaysia giving me a heads up on this latest website that is meant for our local young people, who are trying to earn some cash.

The image “http://a3.youthsays.com/images/header-logo.gif?737158efcaba6eae7d1e405473beed61806c3df3” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Now to be very honest, all of us wouldn’t mind some extra cash on the side, which is why I have been searching for a good online survey method which allows me to earn cash at the same time. Even more so because I’m trying to save up for the next coming years when I really consider to further my skills, knowledge or ability in the performing arts.So in the mean time, for me while I’m busy trying to get into as many plays or shows in our local scene. I need to find a way to earn some bread and butter, or I shall end up eating sand and pebbles on the ground. Anyway, I’m quite pleased to say that while overseas have been setting up a number of these so called “survey sites online”, where you are paid to take a survey, Malaysia finally has it’s own version. And you can find it on Youthsays.com. Before I go into what YouthSays is about.. a little background on past experiences. Why I had issues with other paid to survey sites? I find it hard coming to terms with any of the paid to take a survey online from those who have already been around. Firstly because I don’t know how credible they are, I don’t know how if I will really get paid. Not all the reviews you find online are reliable save for maybe those on blogs. Besides, some will say it works, some will say it doesn’t. But are any of these sources reliable? Hard to tell really. Some could have bad experiences just like for Google Adsense. I personally know of friends who have successful cash outs from Google Adsense, while others complain on how low it is. Now back to YouthSays. What is the site about? It’s a portal where brands/companies would be able to toss out surveys that they need help on. And we as the youth generation (YES I’M STILL CONSIDERED YOUTH!!) is giving out say on what these so called high and mighty brands think….bwhahahahaha. Sorry this came out from the days when I used to sit in meetings or focus groups and everyone at the table will be like.. how the heck do i reach the youth community. Youthsays, will allow them to pick our brain on what are the latest trends we fill is happening and at the same time Youth will pay us for it. Pretty neat. The actual What Youthsays is:
“YouthSays helps other organizations to find out what youths think about them, their products and services. It is created solely for the purpose of getting your feedback via surveys. Your answers to these surveys will give insights to these organizations so that they can develop products, services and policies which more accurately meet our needs. Through Youthsays, we remain anonymous, yet we will be the loudest voice of the youths in Malaysia.”
Why did I find it worth joining?
  1. Because my friend is running it – so of course I’m going to support it and at least I know it’s not for play. It’s serious business.
  2. I need cash obviously
  3. You get first hand looks at latest concepts, products and brands before anyone else – think getting free makeup or freebies.
  4. My opinion is going to matter somewhere – even nicer.
  5. I get to meet even more people in the online community.

Today was the 2nd day for the big event fro YouthMalaysia 2008. Being there I have to tell you I’m mightily impressed by how the whole event was handled and also with the fun activities that were held there. Man there was a lot of stuff happening! It was held on two floors, the fourth floor was where al the more “corporate”, self improvement stuff was going on, while downstairs was the more “happening” area. Third floor was also where the area where Nuffnang, the top 100…or was it 150 bloggers set up. And I saw some really neat/ creative computer designs hehe. Most of the pictures I took are either on my Facebook, Nuffnang fan page or on my Picasa Album. On the third floor the event that probably my attention the most was the Street Style Dancing along with Point Blanc’s performance. The street dancers were not bad, the sorta cool part was they started to battle it out like “You Got Serve”.. ok la not as the canggih manggih (awesome) as the movie, but it was still pretty cool to see what kind of dancers we got out there.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpMgYQ7hro0 Ooo… they nearly got into a fight! :P Chiill chiill it’s all cool hehe. Before announcing the winners, Point Blanc came on to rap his number one single “Ipoh Mali. I managed to get signed copy of his album…soo cool!

img_16301_resize.jpg Point Blanc and Me Going to every single booth was madness cause there were just too many so I think I missed a few on the third floor. But the part I was mostly there for was the blog “party” and I was pretty excited to finally put some physical face to the rest of the bloggers that I have met online. HI YA’LL!! Whheee it was really great finally ..like finally finally meeting you people. :) Yeah i took as much videos as I could on certain parts of the event. I especially like the video of one guy who was so eager to answer questions. First he couldn’t answer who were the owners of Nuffnang… he mentioned one boss but didn’t get to mention the other :P Then he jumped at the next question “Who is the founder of YouthMalaysia?” Just watch… It was quite funny to see the founder, Joel’s reaction (BTW, Mr Neoh.. you pimped me verbally now i pimp you back….like as if you need :P )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UfP4ySDj84 Haahaha… “You can keep your shirt!” Hahaa that was hilarious :P A word or two from Boss Stewie with Joel Neoh on his right…
